First time trying this nail salon and I'll be back. Clean and friendly atmosphere! I got a fill in by Khoi and a pedicure (not sure of the lady's name) and they both showed great attention to detail. I only gave it 4 stars since I had to wait over 15 min even though I had an appointment (I went on a Wednesday). But that happens at beauty salons so no biggie. Other than that, great, relaxing experience. read more

I do not recommend la lu'a NAIL & SPA business. I've come here several times over the last 6 years. I do not come consistently because they are an out of the way location (25 miles away from Home)and ridiculously expensive. However after my last experience on 07/09/25 with a gel polish service I would not recommend anyone to spend money here. My gel polish was $20 just for gel polish not even for a manicure. Just for gel polish ! I also got a pedicure and toes polished with regular polish. Unfortunately the gel polish started lifting, chipping and peeling less than 24 hours later. Got my nails done on 7/2/25 at 2pm and my left middle finger nail polish layer was lifting from my natural nail by 07/03/25. The quality of the polish they use is absolutely cheap. I went on vacation 07/03/25 so I could not get back to the states until 7/09/25 to return to La la'u to get the issue addressed. Well when I went back 07/09 to ask them to fix the issue they tried to say my tech was on vacation and I would have to wait until she returned on Saturday 3 days later on 07/11. The staff a coco skinned lady in chair ()and the lady in chair ()told me that I was suppose to come back by the 2nd or 3rd day to tell them. Sorry but I'm not coming back early from vacation for lifting gel polish. They tried to make me pay for a nail polish change. Which I do not feel is the issue. The issue is the product. The nail techs that I spoke to were cutting me off while I was trying to tell them the issue, not friendly at all and did not want to allow me to speak. They were very short with me. DO NOT GET SERVICES HERE. When I asked for the manger they told me they did not have one. Which maybe true. The lady in chair () told me to come back in 1 hour 3:45pm So I'm gonna sit this here with the patrons. I will wait for the staff to fix the issue hopefully by 07/09/25 and in the meantime I will give potential patrons and current patrons an update to let you know how this was resolved. I feel like if I paid $20 to get my nails polish with gel products then it should last more than 24 hours. I work way too hard for my money to be treated as they did and to be provided poor products and terrible service. Shame on you La Lu'a NAILS & SPA Location 11921GEORGIA AVE. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. It's disgusting in the salon, the materials don't come out of the sterilized bags and the customer service is terrible. A guest arrived at 7:15pm and the sign says they close at 8pm. They turned the guest away because they're "closed" and all she wanted was a polish change. Eventually these salons need to learn guests won't tolerate their poor customer service. read more

I've been going to Khoi for about 6 years now. I moved back from Texas and resumed going to him. He's quick and talented. He's always able to do whatever design I request. This is the best nail salon I have ever been to! I have been getting my nails done since I was 16 and I am almost 39 so I have been to a lot of different places. Khoi does amazing work. I am attaching all the pictures I could find. Zoom into the pictures and you can see attention to detail. The work done by Khoi is flawless and he can make any design come to life. And the application is amazing because I can get multiple fills out of a new set. I don't have words to say how glad I am to have found this salon! read more

Stoked to have found my go-to nail salon! I had a technician named Misty who does an incredible job with massages but her free hand skills on nail designs are a bit shaky. Nonetheless, I still loved my nails and how they came out. This salon is much more affordable compared to others in the area. I believe I paid $25 for a gel manicure and $45 for a regular pedicure whereas my previous salon I was paying nearly $100 for the same services. Parking is super convenient as there's a private lot right in front of the store. During COVID times, I would highly recommend an appointment or to call ahead of time to see if you can walk in (if they're busy or not). read more

$70 to remove my old set and get these amazingly done new sets? Yes pls. I walked in because my old set was getting too long, and one of them actually broke in half. I honestly didn't have high expectations when I called them to get my set redone, because I just needed a simple fix. First of all, when I walked in, the guy in the last row called me over to his table right away. And secondly, this place is clean and spacious! I didn't have to squeeze my way in to see the guy at the very back row unlike most nail salons I've been to. I briefly explained what I wanted done, and he got to work right away. P.S. if he asks "do you want the glow in the dark?" For any of your sets, SAY YES. You will not regret it. I'm definitely coming back again Thank you! read more

I've been coming to this salon for the past 9 years and some months. I love Koi so much love watching his growth as an artist over the years as well as the salon as a whole. Very clean the bathroom is always clean they have ALOT of colors to pick from and a lot of other great nail techs to work with. His wife Kelly is great with waxes too! Pedicures are always amazing. I suggest making an appointment if you can they are very popular and weekends Friday Saturday Sundays they are always super busy. read more

Lalu'a Nails is awesome! I started coming here about a year ago after being dissatisfied with my prior salon and I'm so glad I switched. The service is excellent. When it comes to quality services, cleanliness, affordability and BEYOND exceptional customer service (all things I highly value when choosing businesses to support and spend my hard earned money), it's very rare to find ALL of these components in one establishment. I met some girls who had amazing nail designs and they recommended this place. I came on a Tuesday afternoon and was able to get seated in 10 mins. Pros: the ambiance and décoré of the salon is a 10/10. Very clean and modern. They were able to replicate a design from a Pinterest photo and verified what I wanted for each nail. Overall I was happy with my nails at the end. I would give it another try but also want to find something closer to my home. CON: pricing seemed made up, I asked if they had a pamphlet or list of services to get an idea of the right range granted that I was getting designs and ombré combination I knew it might be more. They weren't able to provide a list of services or written done prices. Then when I was seated o was told I had to get powder bc ombré wasnt possible with gel. As for the the manicure the only thing that was done before she started painting was filing of my nails. There was no cuticle cleaning of sorts involved and I thought that was strange. read more

AMBIANCE Super spacious and clean environment. There's a bunch of nail techs working at once too so the wait isn't too bad, but would highly recommend making an appointment as they do get busy. There are waiting chairs in the front. The chairs in which you get your manicures done are super comfy too, which is always a plus. Went in on a Thursday evening and it was packed. SERVICE Even though we got here one hour before closing, they were still able to fit us in. The lady even said I could do acrylics even though they are more time consuming. My sister also got her nails done at the same time and the techs were all very skilled. I was able to finish my dip gel acrylics in 20 minutes and my sister was also done before the hour was up. As they were close to closing, the service was slightly rushed, but both techs stayed overtime to finish our nails (along with some other techs that were finishing up as well.) The only con I can note is that I noticed afterwards that some parts of my cuticle were not cleaned up entirely, but that's w/e. Another thing is one of my nails on my right hand was hurting a little when the tech was cleaning up the acrylic, but it turns out the cuticle was cut too deep and there was minor bleeding, but nothing too bad. OVERALL For the allotted time, the techs did a tremendous job and I will be definitely coming back. Fun tip: there's a glow in the dark choice for dip gel, which my sister ended up getting and it looks super cool. read more

I'm surprise they have a 4 star review They are very rude, it very funny that I understand what they say, yes I am Vietnamese. While I was waiting to get my nails done one of the lady in the back by the sink told another worker go tell that lady we close at 4pm, I walked in around 4:30pm but the gentleman that did my nails told her don't do that he will do my nails. I got a gel full set and it cost me 50 dollars which I think was pretty expensive. I am in Maryland visiting family but the employee do talk crap about their customers Just saying :( very disappointed. read more

They are currently taking walk-ins but I highly do not recommend this as the wait can be hours on a busy day. If it's a slower day, you may be able to get away with this. Hope this helps!

I had initially made my appointment for sugaring but I was told that my hairs were too short and that wax would work better. I was a bit disappointed because I'd read about sugaring, but happy that my technician was able to provide good advice. It didn't hurt nearly as much as I expected it to. I was in and out in about 45 minutes with silky smooth legs.

It happened for me to stop by Lalu'a Nails and Spa while visiting my friends in Maryland - Silver Spring area. As always in my favorite , French Gel Manicure was what I got by Kelly. She took her time with my manicure, my nails got shaped nicely in the way I wanted. It came out a very nice gel french with pink sparkle base . I love it ! Professional, classy but also very fashionable. I got my eyebrows and waxes done. She did the best eyebrows in town, I swear. Nicely shaped and cleaned. Jack did well with my pedicure. I was happy with all the services I got. There was a bonus witnessing the men in the first station ( I heard people called him Khoi ) creating his freestyle designs on other customers finger nails, he is such an artist drawing all Francisco Goya's paintings on little nails. If I ever need a design, I will definitely go find him. In general, the shop is well-decorated, the technicians are friendly, the environment is so welcoming which makes a preferable destination to relax after my hard-working time of the week. Customer services are great ! I am so picky with my nails and eyebrows but I finally found a place to stop by which I cannot find any where here in Virginia. The place looks very modern and clean, and their prices aren't crazy expensive like other places. I was seated right away even though it seemed to be busy. They sent me to the back with a guy who I believe is named Peter. He was nice and I told him what I wanted. I wanted a metallic color on two of my nails and regular red gel polish on the rest. When he was doing the metallic he seemed very confused like he didn't know how to use the powder for it. He kept asking his coworkers next to him how to do it. Once he finished I knew right away it looked nothing like it was supposed to. I didn't say anything because it still looked cute and I decided to let it go. The shape was very nice, he took his time to shape them, but I was not pleased with how my nails turned out. Once he was done I looked at my nailshowed him some of the flaws I noticed and asked him to fix them, he didn't seem to mind which was nice. But when I went outside and reaaally looked at my nails the ones that were supposed to be metallic looked horrible. I'll be returning because I like the environment and hopefully will get a different nail tech. Will update my review then :) read more

I've been going to Khoi since 2016. Khoi always has a pleasant demeanor and knows how to have me walking out the door with a smile on my face. He's very detailed, up to date with all of the latest nails trends and knows how to replicate every single design I show him! What I also really love about his service is that my nails NEVER BREAK OR LIFT! I am always working with my hands all day and never run into any issues. He's so good that my best friend and my mother go to him as well. You can tell he is a master at his craft as he does get book up very quickly therefore I always make my my appointments a week in advance. The other staff members there are also very skilled, knowledgeable, friendly and do a superb job on their clients nails. They definitely have one of the best teams in town. Michael is also great at doing nails there. I actually went to him for two years prior to switching over to La Lu'a in 2016 then about a year or two later Khoi added him to the team! The overall experience was ruined by his behavior, and to add to the disappointment, the quality of the paint job was subpar. I have visited this shop twice. The first time was an underwhelming experience. I felt like the guy…read morethat performed my pedicure was going really fast. I kept thinking to myself "is there a race I don't know about?" They have time estimates depending on which pedicure. I had a French tip and whichever pedicure that was estimated as ~40 minutes. Trust me, it wasn't 42 or 43 minutes. It was probably 38 and some seconds. My second time was much better. I had a different person this time but the guy was a couple chairs down. He wasn't moving as fast as a couple weeks prior. Maybe he got the memo, I don't know. For the prices and the quality, this is the place to go. The staff is nice as well. They take appointments and walk ins. I'd suggest bringing cash to tip because they can't add it on.
