    Mani/pedi with freehand design.

Best in class. Went for a manicure after breaking all my nails cooking Christmas dinner and Nancy made them look good as new. It's a pandemic. I haven't had a mani/pedi in 9 months and I have done my best but I was definitely embarrassed. Nancy and her team were very nonchalant, they were ready for my appointment when the time came, they were quick, efficient and professional. I really enjoyed my pedicure. The lady did an excellent job on my cuticles and got my nails shaped perfectly without speaking English!! Also, Nancy did my eyebrows and a freehand design on my nails for New Year's Eve with little input from me. Their COVID precautions are quite good. No one is allowed in the shop without an appointment, you wait outside. Three customers max at a time for a total of 6 people, and they all wear masks of course. They also have the plexiglass up for The manicure stations. I felt very safe and I was extremely pleased with their work! My nails look great, I didn't have to wait and they had both of my favorite nail polishes in stock. I guess I'm easy to please but this was a 10/10 for me. One thing to know is that they DO NOT do acrylic at all! I toyed with getting a full set given my broken nails and Nancy informed me they do not do acrylic. Not sure if they do gel + tips but no acrylic for sure. The shop is small and unassuming as previously pointed out but it is scrupulously clean.

Finally, a gel polish that actually lasts! A pedicure with a decent foot massage! And all of these things at a reasonable price! It's a smaller nail shop with three pedicure chairs and three nail techs. Nancy is really nice and seems to have a good rapport with her clients and takes the time to get to know new clients. New clients in this case being me. I had my eyebrows done, gel manicure and a regular pedicure. My nails and toes survived the beating I put on them with sand and chlorine in Jamaica so I'd say that's a win. The only drawbacks here are that it's a small shop. You can make an appointment and may still have to wait a bit because it seems she gets backed up quickly. You may not be able to just pop in and get your eyebrows done quickly because that gets backed up too. I know that because I tried lol. Seems like the best bet is to DEFINITELY make an appointment and still pack your patience.

Nancy is super accommodating and does a fabulous job! I'm hooked! She has a small salon and is a little old school with scheduling which is cool with me! Just give her a call to schedule an appointment!

Uneven polish. Nails right after appointment.

Nancy's is a small nail salon, pretty close to downtown silver spring. I stopped by after work for a pedicure and gel manicure. Everything was solidly average, but I had a couple issues. An older lady did my nails, not Nancy. First, as I was in the pedicure chair, the woman doing my nails stepped out and told me to wait for her. She didn't return for 20 minutes. While she was gone, Nancy made me turn off my massage chair because they "don't want people to use it too much." Umm, then don't leave me sitting there for so long? She was doing my pedicure and then she asked if I wanted paraffin wax--and she said it was an extra $7. That's way overpriced, and per their sign outside, the "warm pedicure with paraffin" was supposed to include it already. False advertising. And then my gel manicure was just mediocre. I asked for the same color for both my hands and feet. She showed me the bottles that matched, but the gel nail color turned out way different and I don't believe they were the same. The polish itself is ok, but it could be smoother. When I asked for her to fix a couple nails, she tried to squish out the polish with a towel. Ugh. Otherwise, it wasn't the cleanest or friendliest place. They also offer waxing services, but judging by the lack of sanitation, I wouldn't recommend anyone try that. Tl;dr -- Mediocre. There are better options. Edit: Less than twelve hours later, my gel manicure has faded from a peach color to a poop brown/yellow color. I will be requesting a monetary refund, and will be thoroughly unimpressed if one is not granted. Do not go here!

Fair prices and the best people! Nancy was so kind from the second I called to make an appointment. She made a few suggestions to make my nails more ~festive~ and did a wonderful job executing. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

    2 day old gel manicure

I've had mixed results here. First off, on multiple occasions I've tried calling ahead to make appointments but it just rings and rings. The 2 times I've gotten manicures here were walk-ins. Nancy is nice and accommodating but the manicure itself was really inconsistent. The first gel manicure I received was fine and lasted about a week and a half. The design I asked for turned out quite cute. The second one was so shoddy I just can't bring myself to go back. I took pictures of the manicure after 2 days. I think because the polish ran up onto my cuticle, it peeled quite quickly, taking with it some of my nail. I don't know if it was a dodgy batch or what but needless to say, it really wasn't worth my money

Came to SS, MD for a conference and after that drive I needed also me relaxation. After looking at other Yelp reviews I was somewhat annoyed and disappointed that that so many of these salons near here have horrible reviews. Well except for Nancy So I called over and asked if they took walkins; she said they were busy but could take me in 30 minutes. GREAT! While I sat in the pedicure seat letting my feet soak I had a chance to read some reviews. Apparently Nancy is the technician you want. Imagine my surprise when I asked my technicians name and she said she was Nancy! I'm really being pampered. Now here's the grit. I've been to some real upscale places and some real gritty places. This one is a little unrefined but there are tool sterilizers present and being used. And sterilizing tablets used (or atleast I think that's what they are ) I'm very happy with Nancys work.

Had to make a last minute appointment and Nancy was willing to take me! Was running late and she was so accommodating. Got an opi gel manicure and it was such a good experience, not to mention only $25! So many color options and glad I went dark this time

Left nail polish on and big toe was not painted the best

It's dirty. Weird location with limited parking. I would not risk it again, hygiene and sanitation wise.

However, I do not know if I would bother coming back again due to a few reasons, but I would not try the same tech again. One, I noticed after the appointment that I had two cuts on separate cuticles from the tech trimming them back. Additionally, each of my cuticles were not given the same amount of attention. One particular finger stands out with the gap between the gel and my new growth being larger than the rest. I am aware that perhaps my nails grow unevenly, but I've gotten my nails done before and never had this issue so I think it's still worth noting. I also left the salon with unnoticed gel under my nail that I had to chisel off later. Lastly, at exactly the one week mark, the gel on one nail started lifting. That particularly upsets me because I'm worried about moisture and bacteria getting trapped so I had to remove the gel much sooner than anticipated. I work a desk job and genuinely don't do much with my hands so I am confident it wasn't anything I did. Overall, for $60, I expected better. I am honestly most disappointed because I was willing to support a salon with their values. Lastly, parking at the co-op is no longer free and hasn't been for at least a month. I wish their website would be updated.

They don't take appointments on Fridays so you just gotta call to see what the wait is like or just have sheer luck with impeccable timing. I ended up with sheer luck on the impeccable timing. There were only two people working, a man and I woman, I assume they're the owners. While there were just two people working that may be because there's only two pedicure chairs and three pedicure stations. The polish selection is slim so I would suggest bringing your own color if possible. Also the pedicure chairs don't recline nor do the massage features work. The two individuals working were both nice. The woman did my pedicure while the male did my nails. Keep in mind I got a basic manicure and pedicure so I wasn't requiring much. I was satisfied with the job done and would consider going back. Just be careful with your timing on a Friday, you could be in for a long wait.

I had gotten long dipped nails a week ago from another place and it was just too impractical to keep. I wanted them removed and do shellac instead but they don't do shellac so I settled for gel. Well worth it! I will be back. Tip: since there is only two technicians, highly suggest appointments. I came at a good time as when I left, two people were already waiting.

I hate writing bad reviews but had such a negative experience here. My nails are so ugly after…read morespending over two hours here, I seriously almost cried. I was shocked because of the good reviews and specifically was excited to work with David, who has great reviews here. Firstly, it's a rare treat for me to get my nails done because I'm a new mom. I came in with a grown-out BIAB manicure from a different salon and asked for a builder gel manicure with a cats eye design. David said this was ok and that he would do the builder gel, then another manicurist would do the cats eye. He started filing my nails and immediately cut them down to the quick even though I asked him to leave some length. He was super rough with the skin around my nails, which now looks worse than when I came in. Then the plan somehow changed and he started doing my cats eye design even though he said he didn't know how to. He insisted that a black gel base would make the color look better, even though I chose a light cats eye color. The result of this effort was that my nails looked like black buttons with chunky white glitter on them. He insisted that the gel and magnets were "not working" and that's why he couldn't get the cats eye to work. Then he suggested I simply leave with the black color, which looked awful and sooo different from what I picked. I asked to remove the black and he agreed, then suggested that I simply "come back tomorrow." At that point I had been there almost two hours with nothing to show for it so I just asked to do a basic gel color. This also took ages and was super messy. I had to ask him multiple times to clean off gel that spilled onto my skin, which is dangerous! Even after that, the manicure looks extremely sloppy and thick. He kept filing and filing my nails even after I pointed out that I was in pain. After over two hours, the results were terrible and they could tell I wasn't happy. The owner and David were defensive when I pointed out this was not what we agreed to. David even argued that it was my fault, saying that he could have served two customers in the time it took to do my nails. However, there were no other customers to serve--and I have zero control over how long it takes him to do things. I still left a full tip and paid for the service despite the awful experience and the fact that they somehow tried to blame me for the outcome. I had high hopes but will not be back.
