    Gel manicure tier 3
    Megumi M.

I've been coming to this salon for a few years and I am never disappointed. From "basic" tier one manicures to tier three with intricate designs, my nails turn out beautifully! Yoslin is an amazing tech, she is able to see inspo pictures and deliver. The salon is so cute inside, lots of bright natural light and disco balls bring in even more light! I love that this is a waterless salon and they have vegan nail polishes. This is not your average salon and the price point does reflect that - a bit pricey so be prepared but it is worth it!

FYI this is a non-toxic salon that carries builder gel and gel-x I decided to try this place because I am trying to transition out of dipping powder and instead use builder gel---however, it's been hard for me to find salons that carry builder gel in the dc area. This salon is small and pretty calm, I counted 7 or 8 stations (no spa chairs). Because of this, I doubt they take walk ins. You schedule online with your card, though they don't charge you until after the service is done. For gel, they carry two brands, with more than enough colors ( I really enjoyed their selection of bright and fluorescent colors). What this does is really limit the mess and clutter of most nail salons. The nail techs each have Venmos available for digital tipping, which is very convenient. Service was good, my nail tech Lizi was great, pleasant and explained things about the builder gel as she knew I was transitioning from dip powder. I also feel like she took her time and wasn't rushing me out of there, something I find common in nail shops which leads to poor manicures and deterioration of nails over time. It's expensive--I paid 85 for regular gel mani with builder gel, but she did repair 2 nails with gel x and didn't charge me for that. However, I think it's probably worth your while if you got the funds due to 1. Non toxic products 2. Calm and easy experience with good service. I didn't get any designs but they do that as well.

I loved my experience at Azalea City Nails and wish all nail salons were like this. Their website is easy to use with clear information and pricing. It was quick and easy to book my standard manicure online. They hold with a credit card and then you can use your card on file to check out (if you want). Tips are cash or Venmo, which is fantastic. I found nearby street parking, as their recommended lot was full, and they are strict on lateness, so I couldn't keep circling. Keep that in mind when visiting. Azalea has fun regular polish options, such as Holo Taco, which is my favorite. They also have Dazzle Dry, another fave, and offer gel as well. I love that they do cool nail art, but wish it was offered for regular polish, as it's quite othering to those of us with acrylate sensitivity/allergies. It's super cute inside and very relaxing. I love the ambiance. I would describe it as cozy glam. Geraldine did an excellent job on my nails, especially the shaping and cuticle work, which was my main reason for getting a mani. If you get regular polish, definitely stay under the dryer longer than they recommend, because I smudged a nail 30 minutes later, so did not love that. Overall though, it's a great place and I'm looking forward to returning.

I am obsessed with my nails! Thank you Yolanda! I had no idea that non-toxic nail products and waterless pedicures existed until this salon. I love how this salon is providing services that prioritize the wellbeing of customers and the planet. Also, the ambience and the vibes are VERY cute inside, it looks like a Pinterest pin!

I randomly stumbled upon this cute nail shop while searching for toxic-free nail shops in google. I was at first a little turned off by the distance of the shop but figured why not give it a try. Best decision I could make! I love everything about this cute little shop located in Takoma Park. Kim is the best tech one can ask for. I'm a big proponent of nail health so tend to keep it cute and tend to opt for simple manicures. Kim's attention to detail and overall work quality is superb and is the reason why I do the 40min drive. Azalea City will definitely continue to get my money lol.

I've lived down the street from Azalea City since it opened but hadn't gone in until recently because (1) it's so expensive [$60 for a pedicure] and (2) they never have availability for walk-ins or same-day appointments. But recently I was in desperate need of a pedicure and didn't want to travel too far from home because I just had a baby, so made an appointment several days out and gave Azalea City a try. You know what -- I get it now. I have deep-set nailbeds that often make pedicures tricky but my nail technician handled them like a pro and I had one of the best pedicures of my life here! See picture, which I didn't think to take until several days after the fact. I'll definitely be back!

This place is excellent. It has become my new go to spot for nails. They have natural Options, gels, pretty much anything you want. The place is clean, friendly, comfortable. They don't use water for pedicures, but you barely miss it. Brianna is great, recommend her for nails. My mani/pedi's have never lasted longer.

If perfection were a nail salon, well by god Azalea City Nails would be it. Perfect manicures, perfect aesthetic, perfect service... It's just perfect! As you walk into the tasteful, welcoming, open space of the salon, you quickly realize it's missing something: the wall of chemical smell that usually accompanies a nail salon. It's simply not there--just fresh, pleasant air to go along with the colorful, chic atmosphere. This is because they use only non-toxic polishes, which creates a safer environment for everyone in the salon. No chemical fumes from dips, gels, or acrylics (not to mention the dust). They want us all to "breathe easy" whilst we get pampered, which takes the idea and experience of being pampered to a whole other level. So good. I arrived for my appointment, was warmly welcomed, and lead over to the polish wall which was a rainbow of chic, current, sophisticated colors ranging from tasteful pink nudes to vibrant, rich jewel tones. I picked a lovely, autumnal persimmon shade and sat down with my new friend, Raquel, and enjoyed every moment of our chat as she rubbed, scrubbed, shaped, oiled, and polished my very ragged, very neglected hands with great care. I left with not only gorgeous nails, but revitalized, youthful-looking hands. My manicure lasted nearly a week--no, really!--which has never, ever happened to me before. It might have something to do with the fact that they're a waterless salon, which means you don't soak (and thus waterlog) your nails during the process. It's quite pleasant and way more gentle on the environment AND your nails, which is a win for everyone (including the planet). I was so relaxed and happy for the duration of my visit, and I really cannot wait to go again. I highly recommend this beautiful, thoughtful spot for a treat, a gift, a get-together... it really is just perfect!

My beautiful yellow nails. It's been well over a week and still NOT ONE CHIPPED NAIL. I am amazed!

This was my first time here and can I say they did not disappoint. Everything about my visit was amazing. From the laid back beautiful ambience, the friendly way I was greeted, the big comfy chairs and ottoman that helped me relax and enjoy my service to my tech Yoseline's care and attention to my nails. I didn't feel like there was a rush to get me in and out. Instead she was very gentle with my hands and nails and made them look amazing. I came in with dipped nails that were broken and grown out and left with nails that make me smile every time I look at them. I couldn't be more pleased. I look forward to going regularly so that they can help care my nails back to health!

    Standard manicure with nail art.

Really lovely place! Everything was clean and everyone was very nice! I was extremely impressed with the longevity of the manicure as well. As someone that works with their hands it held up incredibly well and I never had any chipping or lost any of the charms on my nails. Parking is a bit tricky so definitely give yourself enough time to find a spot. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about Azalea City Nails. The vibes can't be beat and definitely has a different atmosphere than your typical nail bar. The seats are super comfortable and make you feel like you are in a spa. I have always opted for a typical plain manicure but I have seen some of the amazing designs they can do. Looking forward to doing something more adventurous the next time I stop by. Be advised- you have to pay for parking if you park right out front.

I really can't say enough good things about this place! Great vibes, solid color selection, incredible staff, and super clean. My *only* gripe is that because of the way the chairs are set up you have to cross your arms over your body to one side to have them worked on (vs. at a table where they are in front of you) and it's not the most comfortable if you have a larger chest.

    All done!

I have been going to this nail salon for 3+ years for Gel-X. This is the nail salon I visit when I…read moreneed basic service and designs. I've learned not to request anything trendy or complex here because I've been disappointed in their poor execution multiple times. When I've raised concerns about poor design/technique, the staff seemed frustrated rather than helpful. My most recent experience was especially disappointing. Within one day, two nails broke completely off. The salon offered to fix them for free, but asked me to bring the broken nails back to reattach, which I found unsanitary and unprofessional. During the appointment, I suggested maybe the curing process might have been done incorrectly, but my concern was dismissed. Shortly after leaving the salon that day, another nail broke off. When I called/raised the issue again, I explained that I live 40+ mins away and couldn't keep returning for repairs. I asked if the full set could be redone, but they declined and instead said they would continue fixing nails individually as they broke. I came in for a 3rd time in 1 week. As of today, 8 out of 10 nails have broken, including one that had already been repaired by them once. Given this experience, I can't confidently return to this salon.

I make an appointmen. I'm seen on time or a little later as delays happen so I don't trip.I use to…read morerequest a tech but have not for at least 2 of the 3 years I've gone and 96.7% of the time I walk out very satisfied. I get compliments regularly. Every tech does a great job. There is the rare language barrier but the manager will translate if needed. That's only been an issue a few times. It's clean. Bathroom is clean. All there are nice and again all do their jobs well. I'll note that I don't get any elaborate designs but I am particular about the length and shape I request and I get no under the breath hesitation or eye rolling. I'd give them 5 stars if they had better massages on both hands and feet. That minute or two is one of the things I look forward too. I'd pay more for an extended foot massage. Also they don't try to upsell services that are offered. I'd like to know more but forget to ask.
