Beautiful | wildlife | many photo ops…read more This is a beautiful little gem to visit if you're visiting Portland. It's like Hoyt Arboretum combined with the Japanese Tea Garden. We paid $9 for each adult and $6 for our 8yr old (our 23mo old was free). We stayed about an hour to explore with our kids. There is a little parking lot out front that was pretty full, but we were lucky to find one person leaving when we arrived. Across the street is Reed College, so I am unsure where there is extra parking for most visitors. A wedding was happening while we were visiting. This place is really a perfect venue for weddings just like Hoyt Arboretum. They closed off a portion of the park to host the wedding. There are restrooms open while the wedding was happening. What I loved about this park that sets it apart from Hoyt is the views of a lake and family waterfall. The walkway is nice so you can view the lake filled with ducks, herons, and beavers! I spotted some tadpoles and beautiful birds out and about. A special thing during our visit was seeing a bald eagle nesting in the tall tree with its baby. SO CUTE and SPECIAL! This park offers a lot of opportunities to wander and view some great scenery. It's well maintained and has plenty of shade throughout. Some areas are family friendly but I'd say to keep a close eye on your toddlers around the pond. Bring a camera. Lots of great views. Very peaceful. Would love to come back here again, especially during fall for vibrant colors.

This extremely rude employee named Milo came by and insisted that I move to another area because we were close to the event entrance. I told him that we were far enough behind the sign and he doubled down on being impolite and aggressive. Avoid this park as it is a waste of money and time. We came here on a Saturday after driving for about half an hour and should have gone elsewhere instead.

Dylan was an AMAZING guide that knew not only an encyclopedia-like amount of knowledge on the history of Portland, but also could recite extensive history on each place we ate and the specifics of the food we were enjoying. Everything was delicious and we've already been back to one of the restaurants! The afternoon helped us all to understand the layout of Portland while not exhausting. Perfect amount of eating and walking and WOW did we learn. I started writing things down because I was afraid I'd forget things after we were done and I truly wanted to remember it all! Not true with this company. Herb S. really knew his stuff - both about the food, the food carts, and Portland. He was entertaining and easy going and made the time fly by. When we began the tour, in the Deschutes Brewery Restaurant, Theresa filled us with Beer 101 knowledge and even one of the Deschutes Brewmasters came out for a Q & A session. He answered all questions, no matter how mundane or stupid they may have been. While we were walking to our next destination, Theresa filled our time with PDX Historical facts, that most people may know or not and by the time we reached our final destination, Rogue Brewery, everyone was already feeling jolly & talking loud, she patiently let all parties be themselves and enjoy the moment. This walking tour takes you to three (3) Brewery Restaurant Pubs, 1) Deschutes Brewery 2) Pints Brewing and 3) Rogue Brewing. This tour is an easy walk through the Pearl and Old Town districts with no hills etc. Additonally, you may even be able to make new friends, just like us...We stayed at Rogue Brewery long after the tour ended and became real good friends with this other couple from Winnipeg Canada, who was on the tour also, whom we traded email addresses with. We attended the 6th annual Clackamas County Lavender Festival which is held just outside of Carver,…read moreOregon. What a great location. I didn't realize this location was there. I had a great time listening to the band and drinking lavender lemonade. They had several craft vendors on site as well as free demonstrations on how to make lavender wreathes. The Clackamas River Basin Council had a nice set up of native plants in a portable display kind of fun to check out, however, the placement was next to face painting so I don't think they got as much foot traffic as they had hoped for. They had plenty of u cut lavender. I'm sure they will continue to have that throughout the season. Check out the scene. It's really nice there.

Went to their 10'th Annual Lavender Festival for my first time here and it was so lovely! The first…read moresite of seeing fields of lavender just blew my mind as I was in the parking area from afar walking in. I was welcomed with the sound of festivities with live bands, drinks, food, various vendors, and u-pick lavenders with a choice of making it into a lavender bouquet or wreath. This place is beautiful and has efficient sprinkler mist system and waterfall ponds for kids to play in, which was perfect for this very warm sunny day. The festival lasts for two days, so this year it was on June 25-26, 2016. The event is free! I was bummed that I forgot to bring a nice camera. Great lavender fields for photography! The scent of lavender everywhere just adds that aromatic touch to the whole experience. *These lavender bushes attract a lot of bees. There will be many bees per lavender bush, but they don't really bother you.
