My service started out with the Groupon deal ... I've been ordering weekly since mid January. Initially I ordered the regular fruit box ($31.50) but switched to the Large Monster L.A. ($55). Here's my list of concerns: COST: I suspect that buying from FTF is similarly priced to buying at Whole Foods, which bums me out, because I want to eat a raw diet, and it's hard to afford, even buying directly from the farm! Why is it as costly as Whole Foods? VARIETY: Although I can remove items I do not want included, I cannot add items (or favorites) to replace the items that I do not want. WHAT I LIKE: What keeps me buying a box every week is the flavor! I guess it is because it was recently picked off a tree or out of the ground. Also, the produce is organic which means it's not as pretty, and often smaller, but it's the real thing and the taste is amazing. COMPETITION: There are several farms in the nearby areas, but they use pesticides ... Underwood Farms is close by, and they claim they do not use pesticides ... their prices are similar, but you can pick it up and choose items. They're truly local. Next I'm buying organic produce from Abundant Harvest - a California co-op that supports California farmers. I will need to pick up my box as opposed to having it delivered, but I don't care about that. The cost seems less than what I've been paying, but I've just signed up and have not received my first box yet ... I'll post an addendum to this after I do. read more

I also had the $25 Groupon and was sorely disappointed with my mini box. Even though I only paid $12, I felt ripped off! Problems: #1 They delivered to the wrong house so my produce could have potentially sat outside in the heat all day. Luckily my neighbors were home and walked it over. #2 Quality of the produce. The cucumbers were small/deformed looking, the celery was damaged, the four oranges I got unappealing (dirty, small, dull). Overall I would NOT recommend. One can get much better quality organic produce from Sprouts for a fraction of the price. read more

I have used this service for about 6 weeks and absolutely love it! I am a single woman on the go and I love the convenience of knowing that no matter what I am going to always have organic fruits and veggies at home without having to even really think about it. I have really enjoyed the ability to get a bit creative with things that I wouldn't normally buy such as mint. I made mojitos! I also went onto pinterest and typed in mint recipes to find a slew of yummy looking recipes featuring mint! Everything is always delicous! I order the small box once a week and it seems to be the perfect amount. That being said, I juice at least 4 times a week so I am able to use ALOT of greens that way. My only critique is that it is a bit on the expensive side but it is an expense I am willing to pay as it saves me a trip to the store. read more

My favorite things about Farmer Fresh to You are: 1. No charge for delivery 2. The option of customizing my own box 3. Personal reminder phone calls (I'm so busy that I often forget to order) 4. Ojai Olive Oil...it's all that I cook with! Also, I would like to address the reviews below who came from Groupon and gave low ratings...keep in mind that oftentimes the popularity that Groupon brings to a business causes certain businesses to over-extend themselves....hence the 5 star and 4 star reviews referred by Groupon and the 1 star and 2 star reviews referred by Groupon...Farmer Fresh to You has great produce and great customer service. However, it seems as though Groupon drove a lot of customers to them and they may not have had enough high-quality produce to sustain all of these customers. My advice to those who did not like their first experience is to give it a second try :) read more

At first I really enjoy the veggies that was deliver to me, but now I regret it.They double charge me after I have cancel my order. I spoken to a representative before I cancel my order. They specifically said that there was only going to be a charge on my order which I already receive & paid for. which would be find.Now 2 months later I receive another charge on my bill.. Just used my $25.00 groupon and upgraded to a small fruit box for $32.00. It contained 6 apricots, 4 plums, peaches, nectarines and apples, 1 med container blackberries and 1 large container cherries. This was the best fruit I ever had! You may get it cheaper at a local store but it will not taste the same. So often I have to toss the fruit from my local store because it taste so bad. read more

Second Update: A couple of months ago, I rec'd a general email from these folks, reminding me to make my selections!!! They couldn't even bother answering my original complaint, including taking me off their distribution, but they could send me a "reminder" email. I immediately responded (politely), reminding them of my poor experience and that I had asked to be removed from future email ads. Their response: you can always block our email!!!! I have been using Farmer Fresh to You for over a year, and it is an excellent service that provides great produce delivery at reasonable prices. This is a local operation that serves primarily the Ventura County area but also parts of Los Angeles County. Farmer Fresh to You goes to the farmer's markets and local farms to purchase the produce. They then deliver great produce that stays fresh for an entire week in the refrigerator. I highly recommend this service to anyone interested in eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. Even farms cannot offer perfect produce all the time. Farmer Fresh to You will replace any item that was not satisfactory. I find that the best deal is the large customized box. Their pasture-fed eggs are also soy-free and a bargain at $5 per dozen. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's cannot match the quality of the produce Farmer Fresh to You offers its customers. read more

Super Impressed. I too used my Groupon to try out this place. And I Love Love Loved it!! I got one bunch of Asparagus, a bag of mixed greens, 3 different Squash, a head of Brocolli, the most beautiful and large stalk of celery that I have ever seen, as well as a basket of Raspberries and Blueberries that were to die for! I don't know where some of these other shoppers are shopping for organic fruits and veggies, but these are gorgeous vegetables and fruit for the money and free home delivery. What a joke. I used a groupon to get a $25 box of fruits and veggies. The box contained 3 zucchini, a small carton of cherries, 4small apricots, a bag of spinach, a bok Choy bunch, and a handful of green beans and one red pepper. This should have 10 to 12 bucks tops. The taste and quality were fine. If you want to overpay foe the convience of home delivery, go for it. I know I won't. read more

I used the $25 groupon to purchase a $35 small box of fruits and veggies. It's supposed to be enough for 2. I received 1 head of romaine, 5 tangerines, 1 large bunch of grapes, 5 persian cucumbers, 5 small tomatoes, 2 small bunches of asparagus, 2 bell peppers and 2 baskets of strawberries. So far, we've eaten only the fruit (we'll make a salad with the rest today) but the fruit is wonderful. Very vibrant and fresh. I thought the price was reasonable considering the freshness of the produce and the home delivery. It saved me a trip to the farmer's market on a busy weekend. read more

While I was house sitting for some relatives over the summer they got a delivery to their front door. It was a huge box of fresh, locally grown, organic vegetables and fruits. I ate some of the produce and it was delicious! I guess I am used to the produce from huge grocery chains and I never knew the difference in taste and texture was so noticeable. The greens were fresh, crisp, and tasty and the fruits were mouth watering. Best I have ever tasted. I decided to look up the company that provided the box, Farmer Fresh to You, on their website: farmerfreshtoyou.net and I was pleased at the variety of different choices, both in the type of produce and the size of the boxes, from 1 person boxes delivered every other week, to weekly boxes for 5+ people. There were even a huge array of items that could be ordered individually. I ordered from Farmer Fresh to You the next week to be delivered at my house and I have been very happy with the deliveries and also with the friendliness and flexibility of the owners, Lisette and Carol. I get an email every week on what produce is available and I can choose what I want or I can even put my box on hold since I am out of town quite a bit. I would recommend this service to anyone who wants great tasting, organic fruits and vegetables delivered to their doorstep and anyone who wants to support local farmers and agriculture. read more

I found this site via Groupon, and I have been very happy with the service and the product. I've used the site for 4 deliveries so far. The produce has always been fresh and tasty. You could probably save money by buying from a big brand store, but that isn't the point. If you are interested in supporting and receiving locally grown, organic produce, then you should give FarmerFresh a try. read more

My experience wasn't satisfying at all . I got my first order with a promo of $25 for the first time .It was the "medium" box with the choice of the veg+fruits.1. First of all the box was half full( and if they say the size of the box doesn't matter than why they offer different sizes? they could go by weight or quantity. 2. Three of the oranges was rotten. 3. Strawberries where in the plastic box half full and not organic , because I have never seen truly organic strawberries that are the size of my head. 4. Even with the promotion of $25 it is way overpriced , since I can buy the same products under $15 at whole foods and Trader Joes. So, this is business as usual. If people need something than they are going to over price it and abuse their powers. And present it as if they are doing good service to you .Being a farmer doesn't make you a honest person, but changing your value system does. How ethical it is what you are doing? Eating clean authentically grown food that should actually be Free, cost us a fortune. Think abut your deeds and people while you grow vegetables and fruits, because you are a Human , not a farmer. read more
