I absolutely love Farmer Jon's Popcorn. I believe that they opened here in Rochester around the holiday season in 2016 and I am happy that it is more than just a seasonal offering. The workers there are always nice and kind to explain their popcorn, and frankly, the price is beyond reasonable. Natural (basically no butter, light salt) is SUPER cheap and they offer cheddar, caramel, and other varieties too. All are AMAZING depending on your preference. If you're adventurous, go for a farmer jon's mix (cheddar and caramel) and it really mixes the sweet and salty well. I've been making it a trip to get to Marketplace just for the popcorn and whenever I leave town for a bit and come back, I need Farmer Jon's almost as quickly as I need a garbage plate. Your bags of premade popcorn has way to much husks. And it is supposed to be buttery, but you cannot even taste the butter. This is the last bag of popcorn I buy that is yours. Just tried my first Farmer Jon's popcorn....it is toooooo salty! Yikes! Instructions are to pop between 1-5 minutes...popped 2-1/2 minutes and most got burnt. I'd rather go to the grocery store and get either the Orville's brand or ACT II, way better and cheaper too on sale. Don't think I'll order again. Very disappointed, wasted my money. The Kettle Corn I purchased had WAY too much sugar on it. If I wanted to buy carmel corn or cracker jacks, I would have done it. When I called in to complain, the girl I spoke with (Jessica) just kind of blew me off. So instead of sending me a coupon for another bag of regular popcorn, I went away with a bad taste in my mouth. We just received Farmer Jon's popcorn as a gift. It is the worse popcorn I've ever had. There are three varieties: Extra Butter, Light Butter and Movie Theater Butter but there is no butter in these products. Instead there is Palm Oil. I make popcorn in a pan and use white popcorn which is tender and there is a world of difference. Farmer Jon's has a slightly bitter taste. I think it must be very unhealthy too. Avoid! read more

Disgusted! Popped TWO small bags of kettle corn and was shocked to find mildew all over everything in both bags. Threw the remainder of bags in garbage. Phoned the company THREE times and have yet to hear one word from them. I would give a zero rating (if I had option) especially for their total lack of professionalism, customer service, quality control etc! I bought both their butter flavored and the kettle pop corn from Sams Club. What a waste of money! This is some of the worst tasting popcorn I've ever had. I do not eat microwave popcorn because of the Artificial taste...like nothing but chemicals and this tastes as bad. This popcorn is greasy, like it's covered in margarine. The kernels are more like pieces and bits. I wish Sam's Club would review products before signing up with them. Never thought I'd throw away an entire bag of popcorn. A waste of money. read more

Heard about this popcorn shop coming to Marketplace finally tried some. Very good all around. They didn't have the Caramel Almond the night we were there. Disappointing however I was interested in a Chicago mix, which they call Farmer Jon's mix. Caramel and Cheese popcorns mixed together. The caramel popcorn is excellent. It's not sickly sweet in my opinion. The cheese popcorn on the other hand is quite rich and tastes heavy. However that maybe why they pair so well together. Great gift idea for your favorite popcorn lover. Price for a small bag was under $5 and it's a decent size. read more

Just got a bag of Farmer Jon kettle corn. I could not feel more let down. This stuff tastes like dish soap. It truly tastes as if whatever chemicals they use to clean their kettle, or whatever it cooks in, were still in the kettle when they started cooking. The kernels themselves are bland, there isn't enough salt or sugar, and it leaves an awful aftertaste of soap. Like the powdered dish detergent you use in a jumbo restaurant. Anyone that has ever worked in a restaurant or has used the stuff will know what I am talking about. The only thing they did right was the amount of popcorn that came in the bag. But when it tastes like garbage it really doesn't matter how much you get. I'll be throwing the rest of this bag away and sticking with other brands, or making my own kettle corn from now on.
