I walked here after the La Mesa car show since it's conveniently only a couple short blocks away. The restaurant is pretty with a lovely outdoor patio, an indoor/outdoor bar area, and a spacious and well-decorated interior restaurant. The bar staff was friendly, helpful, and provided quick service. They make a great margarita and have a good selection of wine. The food was unfortunately a disappointment. We first ordered the artichoke appetizer, not pictured, and it was entirely inedible. I regret not getting a picture. It is essentially two long artichoke stems with very small hearts that were fanned out and burned. The whole thing was hard, near impossible to even cut, and absolutely drowned in the most overpowering lemon dressing I have had in my life. There was a very long piece of bread down the middle of the plate that was very dry on the ends, soggy with the lemon sauce in the middle, and burnt on the bottom. We couldn't eat it. We then ordered the prosciutto bruschetta, pictured, which was fine though the prosciutto was a bit dry. If you are coming for drinks, this is a very pleasant setting with lovely staff. Let me start off by saying the staff is nothing but amazing! I placed an order for pick up because it was about 815 and I did not want to go in there late so I couldn't decide between three different pastas. I ended up going with the carbonara and I added chicken. It was like 40$ but it was so good. The chicken was juicy. It came in the creamiest bombing sauce you can imagine. I wasn't as excited about the food that we ordered . I got the smoked beet salad and added the pecan chicken. The salad was drenched with dressing I would ask for the dressing on the side. I didn't care for a flavor in the salad maybe it was the smokiness... honestly, the chicken was a little dry as well. My friend got the prosciutto Burrata pizza and honestly, the burrata a little too moist for the pizza it makes it soggy. The crest looked like it was good before the Burrata was placed on the pizza . Maybe we just picked the wrong items. They're both a salad and the pecan chicken got good reviews on other yelp reviews.... My other friend really liked her turkey sandwich and her fries were good . We loved the food, so we tried the La Mesa location after the CV location rebranded. Service here was also poor. We were seated right away, but it took about 30 mins until our server even came to bring us water. We were also sat with unwashed silverware, which was disheartening. Server gave us our food, and never came back. We had to ask another server to bring our check. We got our usuals - farmer salad add steak & breakfast burger - and my salad was good! Consistently good at both locations. The breakfast burger....not so much. The egg was literally so small, and we understand the crisis with egg prices but it was extremely disappointing. I ordered the Carnitas Omelette (5/5) and my partner got the Short Ribs Benedict (5/5). A lot of our friends got the Jambalaya (2/5) and thought that dish fell short. I've been going to Farmers Table in La Mesa for quite awhile, and it's definitely a favorite brunch spot for my husband and I (though they also have good dinner options). The decor is charming! The go-to for my husband is their bananas foster French toast. He gets it almost every time. It has big slices of banana and comes with lots of syrup and whipped cream. If you have a sweet tooth, I highly recommend it! This time I tried out their divorciados. I loved the texture of the crunchy tortias smothered in different sauces. It could have used a bit more porkbelly for the price, but it was delicious. My mother in law got the blueberry pancakes, which she had no complaints about and took the leftovers home. We were sat outside, which was lovely this time of year. The staff are always very friendly, even when it gets overwhelmingly busy. I'm trying to not use foul language anymore and that's difficult to do when describing how good this was. Let's just say it was very, very good. For entrees, the short rib is impressively large and incredibly tender, falls apart so easily. My husband's favorite was the bone marrow risotto, which was cheesy and rich. She ordered the Chilaquiles (with a few extras added) and a Mexican Hot Chocolate, which she absolutely loved. We also grabbed a grilled cheese with fries for the kids off the children's menu only $8, and it came on fresh sourdough with perfectly crispy fries. I ordered the Birria Omelette with house potatoes and sourdough toast hands down one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully plated. The café itself has that true farmhouse charm, with rustic décor and even a full-size tractor out front such a fun touch! There's plenty of space inside and out, making it great for everything from family breakfasts to business meetings or even a romantic brunch date. Went last night with some mom friends and we had a great experience! Decor and ambiance were very unique and farm fun - even the glassware were nice touches. Service was the best I had in a very long time anywhere! Our server was fantastic, kind, super funny and patient! He made our well deserved night out that much better! The ambiance is "Farmer" rustic casual. Great for all ages. They have a nice selection to choose from for breakfast. I gave 4 stars because the chicken in the Chicken Waffle seemed to me a frozen chicken patty like the ones served in school lunches. I was not a fan. I used to enjoy coming here on my lunch break because it's close to my work, but as of lately the service and quality has gone way downhill. The I place two orders for online pickup within the last week and go to pick up, only to find out the order didn't get sent to their system and I had to wait 20+ minutes for my food. One of the employees gave me a $25 gift card for my trouble because he recognized me from the first time, which was nice. This last time I figured I would call in to ensure the food is ready, I ordered the Paccheri Alla Vodka pasta. By the time I got back to work with my food, my pasta was undercooked and missing half the ingredients (chicken and peas). I was so hungry I wasn't going to bother going back to have it fixed. I think they are in such a rush that there's no quality control, or checking to make sure the system is working properly. Bummer, because I used to enjoy eating here. read more

Such a great spot in La Mesa. Brunch is my favorite they have the largest brunch drink menu I have ever seen and the food and drinks are all so creative, unique, and taste amazing. Very large place so if there is a wait it is never long and you can make reservations on Yelp. The alcohol lemonades are a must they are super large and great value. The blueberry pancakes are my favorite, not too sweet. I also got the Mexican Bowl which was eggs, rice, beans, avocado, breakfast potatoes and salsa. Was absolutely amazing. Everything was separated on the plate and you could mix in as much as you want. Great option I would get again. The waffle share platter is massive made for 4-6 people. Wait staff was very friendly and responsive. Music was not too loud it was perfect for conversation. Only down side is none of the restrooms had a changing table. read more
