    Mango & Classic sangrias
    Kristin M.

Amazing! I have been wanting to check out their happy hour for a while now and it did not disappoint! Of course we all had to try to signature Limoncello Martini. Which at $10 a pop with a bonus full size lemon ice popsicle garnish was a steal. We also had the $9 classic and mango sangrias...yum! However the assortment of $10 plates were deliciously awesome! Between 4 of us we shared the meatballs (decent sized in marinara sauce), spaghetti carbonara, cacio e pepe, margherita pizza, and beet salad. Everything was fantastic and the serving sizes were plenty to share. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was great with open front indoor outdoor seating and the decor right down to the bathrooms was so cute and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were charming and attentive as well. We will definitely be back and bring and refer friends.

We stopped by for happy hour to celebrate a birthday and had an enjoyable experience overall. The restaurant has a bright, airy atmosphere with colorful Sicilian-inspired décor that immediately feels welcoming. The service was friendly and attentive for most of our visit. As the restaurant filled up, things slowed down a bit, but nothing that significantly impacted our experience. We ordered three appetizers from the happy hour menu. Two were excellent, while the third missed the mark. The pasta dish was outstanding--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The salad was fresh and generously loaded with ingredients. The grilled artichoke, however, was disappointing. It was a bit soggy and heavily covered in sauce, which overwhelmed the artichoke itself. One of the fun touches is being able to see the fresh pasta hanging on drying racks, and they also prepare some pasta table-side in a giant cheese wheel, which is entertaining to watch and adds to the overall experience. Between the inviting atmosphere, good food, and lively presentation, it's a great spot for happy hour.

This is a very cute place with all the bright colors of yellow. Service was amazing. Very accommodating with anything you ask for. As for the food it was mediocre. My dish the Brassato, was by far the best and it was a slow cooked pork dish and it had amazing flavor and tender. The pasta dishes were not good for the others at the table. One was a special with pappardelle meat sauce that had an odd taste to it. The vodka rigatoni was not good either. The sauces had weird flavors I've never experienced before with Italian food. I could not put my finger on the odd taste. Wish the food was better as it's such a cute place. It might have something to do with not Italian ran.

Can't believe it's been almost two years since I dined here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is modern and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were given complimentary bread with butter and olive oil. For drinks I got a mocktail and a limoncello martini, which came with a popsicle! We shared the guazzetto and the insalata limoncello for our starters. The guazetto had black mussels, clams, calamari, and prawns. It was a nice mixture of seafood! For our entrees, we chose the paccheri carbonara and branzino. Both dishes were very flavorful! He also ordered a cappuccino before dessert came. The chocolate molten lava cake was pretty good! Overall, I had a nice time here!

Went here for dinner with another couple, and really enjoyed the delicious Italian food and excellent service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is a beautiful location in the heart of downtown La Mesa[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], with many places to go before or after dinner. Cocktails were good, but general alcohol options were limited. I would recommend this spot and would eat here again.

Andy And Samuel are the nicest people! My Husband and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary here at Limoncello and we couldn't have picked a better place to dine and reminisce! Andrew was very accommodating with our dinner choices. I couldn't find anything on the menu with truffle oil and my husband couldn't find anything with bolognese sauce, but the chefs were happy to put truffle oil on my gnocchi and use bolognese sauce on my Husband's ravioli! Both meals were delicious! I also had a limoncello and my Husband had a mango sangria. Both were amazingly good! They gave us a delicious tiramisu for dessert and we had a cappuccino and macchiato to finish our evening. Will definitely be back!

Came here for restaurant week. We had a reservation and we got seated right away. Parking isn't the best but there's a paid lot nearby. For appetizers, we had the arancini and bruschetta. The arancini was so good and flavorful while the bruschetta tasted fresh. For our entrees, we had the pollo saltimbocca and the brasato. The brasato was super tender with bold flavors while the pollo saltimbocca had milder more herby flavor. Both were delicious! For our desserts we tried both the tiramisu and cannoli. The cannoli was not sweet at all if you're into that and the tiramisu was really good! I also had the limoncello martini and that tasted good! It didn't taste like alcohol at all it's dangerous lol. It's a small place with many tables so it can get a little loud inside. Service was fantastic though!!!

What a delight. We were in no rush at all and the server took his time with us and it made the evening munch more special. The drinks were tasty and the food.... Wow. Yummy with a depth of flavor hard to match. The short ribs were scoring and the serving size was too big to eat in one sitting. The pasta with eggplant was also very tasty. Overall a great find for locals and anyone who allravites good Italian food.

When a former student, well..actually a student who had to put up with me my first year teaching, so many years ago, said let's meet up for dinner, I suggested here. It had been a while since I've been, and it is a real treat to come here! This was also my first time sitting inside. It's a great dining room, and I love the circular couch in the center. I had to have that Limencello martini again...or is it the fact that it has a popsicle....hhmmm. We started with the crispy calamari, sooooo good! On this visit, I decided on the papparadelle pasta with meatballs, sausage, and short rib. This was so delicious! Vi had did her research and they have Pasta Tuesday special where you build your own. We ended our meal with the lemon cake and tiramisu. Both so good, but my favorite was the lemon cake...light and lemony! Service was warm and friendly! I need to come back soon!

Such a cute location with friendly service and amazing food! Located in downtown La Mesa with street parking only. Came on a Sunday right at open and got seated right away. We made a reservation, but it wasn't needed! They also take walk-ins. Anything off the menu is delicious, you cannot go wrong. From the innovative drinks to the decadent desserts, everything is very tasty!

    Arancini
    Gale R.

We are always looking for a good Italian restaurant, Limoncello, it was pretty good, but not entirely authentic. I say not authentic because they have a number of salmon dishes, Salmon is not a traditional Italian fish. We did enjoy the Arancini as an appetizer. We split the heirloom tomato salad, and it was unusual that the tomatoes had been sautéed.. The bread was good. I had the tutto mare with squid ink pasta. It was good, but a number of the shellfish had not opened.... My husband had the gnocchi with Burrata dish, which was also pretty good. He had the limoncello martini which was playful with a lemon popsicle included. Very pretty inside, but very loud it's difficult to carry on a conversation with your date/ table mates. Our waitress Francesca was very attentive and helpful .

I had been looking at the pictures on Yelp all day, just getting myself excited. It did not disappoint. We arrived with a 6pm reservation on a Monday. When the host mentioned only outdoor tables were available, I asked if we could wait for something inside (the outdoor space is enclosed, but you can still see the parking lot, and it was my birthday. I wanted cozy). A second host appeared shortly after, took us to a table inside without hesitation, and turned out to be our server, Brad. So already, off to a good start. And cozy is the right word. The interior is adorable, exactly the kind of neighborhood Italian spot you hope exists but rarely find. The kind you want to be a regular at. Our server introduced himself as Brad. "I'm a Bradley, not a Bradford," he said. "Ah, as in Bradley Cooper," I replied. We were off to a good start. When I mentioned how old I was turning, he said he didn't believe me and asked to see my ID. I happily obliged. He then found out I wasn't planning to order wine because my stomach was being fussy, and before I could say another word, he said he'd bring me a taste of his favorite white. The Gavi di Gavi was delicate and lovely. Delicate stomach be damned. We started with the Burrata e Prosciutto (burrata, prosciutto, shaved parm, and honey). The camera eats first, of course. Simple, and absolutely divine. For my entree, I had been set on the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe all day, but Brad's description of the seafood squid ink pasta changed my mind on the spot. No regrets whatsoever. My son had the Fettuccine Tartufo with salsiccia, and my nephew went with the Carbonara. Everyone was happy. And then there was the tiramisu, made tableside, three spoons. Enough said. The entire experience was exactly what a birthday dinner should be, the kind that reminds you why you go out in the first place. Going out to eat is expensive now, and you feel every dollar. When it's worth it, it really stands out, and Aromi was worth it. If every restaurant had a server like Brad, who was attentive as if he had a personal stake in your evening, more people would keep coming back. I'll definitely be one of them.

This place is a gem for anyone who appreciates true house-made Italian food. Everything -- from the…read morebread to the fresh pasta and deeply flavorful sauces -- tastes like it was crafted with care rather than mass-produced. The freshness really comes through in every bite. The pasta is tender with that perfect chew you only get from fresh dough, and the sauces are rich without feeling heavy. Even the bread deserves a mention -- warm, flavorful, and clearly made in-house. It's the kind of meal that feels comforting yet elevated at the same time. Service has been consistently attentive and welcoming on every visit. Despite how busy they get, the staff keeps things moving smoothly without making you feel rushed. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, which adds to the cozy atmosphere but also means it fills up quickly -- a testament to both its reputation and its excellent value. For the quality of food you receive, the prices are refreshingly reasonable. I can honestly say this place has exceeded my expectations every time I've come here. It's one of those rare spots that delivers consistency, quality, and warmth all at once -- the kind of neighborhood restaurant you hope never changes.
