I gave Giovanni's in West Liberty, KY, five stars until I ordered a 19-inch cheese stick. Then…read moreagain, I think it was a 19-inch trash bin. The cheese and the dough did not adhere. When I returned on June 28th, they remade the cheese stick, and I checked it in the parking lot and got the same result. I went back in, got many excuses, and asked for a 10 and an 8. They said to come back in 10 minutes. I came back and got a 19-inch trash bin again. There was no adhesion for the cheese. They refused to replace it. I was told that is how the manager trained them to do it. I figured I would wait a few days for the new owner and see what he would do. He made excuses and told me to talk to the old owner. I have a sneaking feeling that even though he said he fired many of the people, the ones that were an issue are still there, like the manager who told them how to make it. I do not know for sure; it's just a feeling. If the process is as he tried to explain it to me, there is no wonder it is not working right at times. I also asked other Giovannis how I would replicate it, but they had no idea and were concerned about how it was done. I will include a picture of what I got the last time. I showed it to them before even leaving the establishment. I will drive to a different county if I want Giovanni's. I figured I would edit it and add this. This travesty is not one visit. It is two visits and three cheese sticks over three weeks, just in case you think it was a fluke. Two cheese sticks were done back to back.

We researched places to eat in the area, and found Miguel's Pizza. It looked good and had decent reviews. The clincher was my new remote coworker (located a few hours away from this area) who confirmed "oh yeah - ANY time we go down there, we get Miguel's!). After our adventure, we scooted over to Miguel's. It's kinda different, to say the least. Big with the campers. You walk up and order, and they'll bring your pizza to you (place your transponder on the marked mat on the table so they can find you!). While we waited, we got a chance to pet a few dogs that were hanging out with their humans. Always a bonus! It's also a cool place to people-watch. The food was UH-MAZING. We got a couple different kinds of pizzas and they were all fantastic. The sausage was the crumbled kind (versus slices or chunks). WINNER! The pepperoni was tasty. The white sauce with chicken was top notch. You can't go wrong! And the prices were extremely reasonable. We enjoyed our meal so much, we bought another round of pies to throw in the car for the next few meals. SO GOOD!

Want to pet a strangers dog and talk about cool rock formations? YOU'RE IN LUCK! THIS IS THE PLACE. Don't fit in with any groups in life? No need to fret... you'll find someone to connect with here. Is it weird? Absolutely... but that's the most charming part. Then we get to the pizza! It's banging! Is it really THAT good, or is it just because there's not many choices around and I'm starving from being a wilderness adventurer? WHO KNOWS AND WHO CARES!? The pizza is the best for some unknown reason. and I'm here for it! Lastly... bathrooms are kinda gross... but so is EVERYONE in that restaurant from walking trails and climbing rocks for 8 hours. It's the price you pay for a cool place like this. TRY MIGUEL'S! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

We order our drinks and then wait, and wait. We finally get up to just start eating off the buffet. They had several pizzas sitting out that appeared to be setting out for a little while. But it's pizza so how bad could it be. Well I found out... and it's bad. And by bad, I mean Little Caesar's is better. So as we sit down with our first plate, the power shuts off because the electric company is working on it. So we eat in the dark and silence. The pizza is like warm and taste a little like school cafeteria food. We finish and pay and find out the buffet is $10.59! The buffet wasn't worth 5.99. I hate to be mean but there is just no way I can say that this is a good place. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because our waitress was very nice.

So, if you're looking for a healthy spot, this likely isn't it. We visited with a few family members to have a spot to hang out and chat while we ate. We got a few appetizers to share, including Potato Skins, Deep Fried Banana Peppers, Broccoli Bites, and Corn Nuggets. Everything tasted pretty good, but it all seems to come straight from the Sysco Corporation. The menu does extend to dinner options, sandwiches, pastas, and salads, and they also offer pizza. On our visit we didn't try any of these options, but if we ever return I'll extend further into the menu for sure.
