We covered drinks in honor of Boss's Day. Service was ok -- the couple running the place were attentive, though they preferred to point you to QR codes over talking directly to you (not my favorite). Unfortunately, the customer service judgment was a bit poor. When we politely asked to lower the music briefly for a short announcement, we were told it "wouldn't be fair to other customers." There were only a few others there, five perhaps and not deeply engaged in listening to music. A small act of courtesy could've gone a long way. After dinner, my wife and I decided to take a walk and check out a little of our surroundings in the downtown area. We searched a little on Yelp while we were eating and decided to check out this place which was near where we had dinner. As you enter, you can see the the space is narrow and deep. There are two large tables on either side of the entrance as you walk in. The bar is long on the right side and there are 5 smaller tables on the left. There are four TV's on the wall behind the bar. Each were playing a different sporting event. Above the TV's is another TV showing the beer and wine menu. They have 24 beers on tap and 15 different wines. We decided to have a seat at the bar and were greeted right away. We asked about IPA's and a sweet wine and the woman was very helpful in suggesting the Russian River Pliny the Elder Double IPA and the Weinkeller Von Erbach Riesling. We were both pleased with the selections. We really liked the industrial theme decor of the place and even took some pics that we thought we might be able to incorporate into our own home. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy and the service and selection was great. The only downsides are that they only serve beer and wine and the food menu is very limited. This little spot is a breathe of fresh air. It reminds me venues in big cities like San Jose and San Francisco. It is really a bar and a not restaurant, however they do encourage bringing in food to eat from home or local restaurants. On occasion, a local food truck will be parked near by. With over 20 craft beers on tap and 10-15 wines on this list, it make for an amazing choices. They menu changes on a regular basis. Be prepared to try something new. Personally, I have found some that I have really enjoyed and was out shopping for the next day. When people ask you about your beer selection since there's only one screen with small print & you direct them to another angle for a "better view" that still doesn't help. & when I asked him what kind of Sour beers he had all he said was "10 & 21" like if I could read the menu when I had just previously stated I couldn't read it. Great place, not so great service. I recently went in with a few of my family members, one that had recently turned 21 and wanted some assistance with the drink menu. The woman with the short bob kept asking "what do you like?" and we tried to explain to her that he was a first time drinker and didn't know what he liked. So she called over another man who claimed to be owner and he was very confrontational right off the bat and attempted to get physical with his customers. I don't own my own business, but I know what customer service looks like and that wasn't it. It's unfortunate because the place looked amazing and the atmosphere was great. I may be a bit biased... In the US, you just don't encounter that many Colins so, when you do, you take notice. This is my new favorite beer bar, locally. I used to be semi-regular at Post. Maybe they just had too many of the same beers too often. Maybe it was the stale decor of the place. But I just got tired of it. This is a 180 from Post, for the most part. The interior is exposed brick and partially repurposed materials. I mean, it's really kind of beautiful inside. I think that the interior alone sort of sells the place and makes you feel comfortable there. There's a long bar, but also several tables both in the front and back, with a patio coming soon (the city just approved patios on Main Street). It's a really interesting and comfortable space. The vibe is very different from Post I think mostly because they don't just focus on beer here. They actually have very good wine available. But the beer selection is pretty awesome, and that's why I come. They've had some breweries on tap that I've never seen anywhere else locally. And they change it enough where, if you go in once a week, you're almost guaranteed to see at least two new options. I mean, this is not a good place to come if you just want your Bud Light. You can ask for something lighter, and they can recommend things and give you tastes, but you have to be at least a little open-minded. It's a really good place to watch sports. There are, I think, six TVs, and they're good about keeping them on the important games. They have food trucks come by some nights (in the back), but you can also just bring in food or have it delivered. read more
