Great chicken, other food is pretty good, but the fried chicken is the draw! Fun, beach atmosphere, well-priced for portions.

I've been walking by this place for years and we finally decided to stop today for lunch. Completely disappointed. I thought I was going to get big fat homemade chicken fingers and I'm fairly certain they were just Tyson frozen ones. $25 worth of frozen chicken. Beans were OK. The potato wedges were OK. My friend and I came in for dinner tonight and, for the most part, were quite pleased with our experience. There is a counter where you order and pay and your food is delivered to your table when ready. The girl at the counter, while not extremely friendly, was at least polite and knowledgeable. We both ordered the chicken finger dinner, which was quickly delivered piping hot, fresh, and quite good. The jo jo's and cole slaw were especially enjoyable. In short, a pretty good -- although not exceptional -- meal without the "beach prices". My only complaint is the portions seemed a tad small. I will recommend, and will return when in the area. read more

If there was a 0 star I'd do it ! . I've been coming to Hampton forever and this establishment for at least the last 10 years . Tonight was the Hand's down worst ! . First once we got there there were numerous people complaining and poor quality food etc . Seeing as I always had a great meal here we shrugged it off as a bunch of drunks In Hampton beach . I'm sorry to say we were sooooi wrong . My daughter chicken wrap was a sloppy mess send back twice only to get sent back o wrapped in tin foil to hold it together lol . We also ordered a 16 bucket of FRIED CHICKEN, which tasted and looked like Banquet boxed chicken .. soggy , boiled gross . We also ordered wings Buffalo style and they were the same soggy boiled gross chicken smothered in barbecue sauce not Buffalo lol . I NEVER COMPLAIN , but when the owner came out to ask why I was unhappy he explained it with a totally a moronic excuse of "we cook / boil 400 pcs of chicken a day " and that my wings were Buffalo style not bbq .. omg !!! Seriously!!! I'm from NY and Buffalo !!! Jerkoff !!!and I think I know wings you Shi-heal !!! . Always had a great meal and a great experience here and came back here for this chicken and his establishment but the Owner took no responsibility for his shitty food and terrible delivery and offered no refund of any kind ( btw I never asked ) but a lame excuse for dog food disguised as quality fried chicken and Buffalo wings aka dog food lol . The chicken is so good. I might become addicted. It is juicy and flavorful and not expensive. The baked beans are sweet, the potato wedges are pretty good. The ladies at the counter are very friendly even when they are super busy. For a 4 wing dinner, and a breast for $11.99. You cant beat it. Would have to go for the weekend for drinks with that chicken. Its awesome. I know the Mac and cheese must be good too. read more

I don't even know where to begin. Grease soaked chicken costing an arm and a leg. Terribly managed establishment. "Famous" isn't necessarily a good thing especially in their case. Only reason it deserves a star review is because of the young girl at the register who catered to us like a 5 star restaurant (not that anyone working there has a clue what that is) she is the glue keeping Farr's famous and not infamous. read more

Chicken and waffles. This was my order on the first visit. The chicken fingers looked processed when I cut into them, which was hard to believe. Spongy and not very normal looking/feeling. Eh is probably the best description. Came here for breakfast. Got the "famous" chicken and waffles. First off the waffles were clearly frozen. When served they were ice cold wouldn't even melt the butter. The chicken was pretty OK. I told the waitress about the waffles. She took it back and said they would make a fresh one. A "fresh one" indeed. So fresh it had the same bite out of it as I took from the cold one! Strange! They microwaved the whole plate. So now the chicken was tough and the homefries were soggy. Stopped in for lunch today. Tried the 2 piece chicken thigh special. This special included joe Joe fries, cole slaw and baked beans for $5. The chicken was fresh, hot and delivered to our table promptly. The baked beans were very good a tad bit heavy on the molasses for my personal taste. Nice family run establishment. read more

It's been so many years since I've been back to Farr's but had to try it last weekend. My boyfriend and I got there 15 minutes before closing on Saturday night STARVING. Getting there so late, we expected to have limited choices and chicken that may have been sitting there for a bit. Not the case at all!!! We ordered it to go and this was the most delicious chicken we have ever had, made fresh to order. Customers came after us very close to closing time and they weren't turned away. It was about 15 minutes before we were able to eat and it was still hot and amazing. We didn't end up eating everything and heated the rest of up today and it was just as good as it was last night. My boyfriend is STILL raving that this was the best fried chicken he has ever had and we're already talking about making our next trip! read more

For just under twenty bucks my man and I each got a fried chicken sandwich/wrap. I got a Caesar wrap and his a fried chicken sub. Cole slaw was on point and so were the jojos. Crispy and dry the first night I had the two breast $8 special - two large crisp breasts with big Jo Jo potatoes, side of beans, exceptional coleslaw, Frank's Hot sauce - a great dinner at a value price. We had one lunch (burgers) that was above average and a tasty breakfast this morning - again, good value, quality, without the ocean view. Close and convenient to our hotel it worked great for breakfast on the way to the beach and for dinner on the way home. read more

For the best fried chicken in New England head to Farrs in Hampton Beach. Friendly quick service and amazingly great chicken at a reasonable good price. I love their wings. The ladies were very gracious as I was traveling with my dog. They have a fresh bowl of water outside. I took some home to Rhode Island for dinner tonight. Thanks Farrs. Like most places in Hampton Beach, this place is sneaky and underhanded. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. My friend and I stopped there for a drink because they had a sign saying "$3 Drafts" only to go inside and discover AFTER we had ordered that only the Bud Light was $3, all other drafts were $4. Not a huge deal, but I happened to mention that the sign was a little misleading and the guy just stared at me. So we each paid for our drinks, I didn't leave a tip but my friend put a $1 tip on her $4.36 tab, making it total at $5.36. A couple days later she had checked her bank account to find they had charged her $9.36!! They forged her tip!! Maybe just bitter about the comment I had made about the sign, or it's just how they do things. Either way, terrible business practice. read more

the fried chicken is very good and at a great price, but the pieces are small so order more. If you're inclined to want 2 pieces, for example, order 3 or 4. My daughter loved the mac and cheese. Service was slow on the day we went, even though there was only one other couple there. However, I think it's because they had a huge take-out order to finish up, so no biggie. read more

I've been coming to Hampton for 40 years and have learned the good stuff is always off the Blvd, but sometimes you just don't want to drive. I remembered driving by a chicken place on the back streets. Read reviews and have been craving wings being that I live near Buffalo and just can't get them done right up here, figured a place that specializes in Chicken must be my best bet. I just walked all the way there at only 7:30 on a Saturday night and they were out of wings. I had to walk out. Kinda upset a chicken themed restaurant was out of chicken wings that early. The girl at counter was ok, but looked to care less about being out, no sorry, no offer of alternatives. I still have 3 stars because it's not fair me not ever eating. Place looked cool. Kid friendly. A bar with a tv on away from family seating and plenty of outdoor seating to people watch. Off the strip which is definitely a plus since you can still walk there in minutes from either end of the the beach. I may try again. read more
