I visited Fashion Alterations to get my wedding dress altered for my upcoming March wedding in Hawaii! A friend of mine recommended her to me after getting her dress altered here. Houri was incredibly attentive, detail-oriented, and prompt in altering my dress! When I initially dropped my dress off, I needed to get it hemmed and the straps taken in because of the deep V in the back of the dress. It was a lace dress with a lot of intricate detail and I was very concerned with finding the right seamstress to make these alterations. I dropped off my dress on January 24th and was able to pick it up on February 12th after getting the straps taken in, the dress hemmed, and a French bustle added to the dress. She listened attentively to all my concerns and considerations for getting my dress altered for my Hawaii Wedding! I came back each week to try on the dress and make sure the dress was what I wanted. I was happy with the overall experience including the customer service, quality of alterations, and the price. Houri charges by the alteration, not by the hour as some locations do, which I preferred. I would definitely recommend Houri for any alteration needs you may have! read more

One pair of pants and two dresses... over $400 Did not tell me upfront. Pants: took in the crotch and waist line Dresses: took in the waist and was pressured to move the straps on one of them None of the pieces have an embellishments to work around. Basic pieces of clothing from Amazon and Target. The receipt is not readable which is not okay especially with a charge this large. see picture. I have never had a charge like this from any other alterations place. even when having formal wear with beading, lace, and mesh worked on. I explained to Houri that I only wanted the waist tacked on each side with a couple of stitches, and the bottom simply cut/trimmed since it did not require sewing. I also told her that removing the waistband would be too costly, and she agreed. When I asked for a receipt at drop-off, she refused, which made me uneasy, but I trusted her. When I returned, I was shocked to be handed a bill for $175 because she removed the waistband anyway and charged for additional work I did not authorize. After I objected, she reduced the total slightly, but I still paid $137.73 -- which is more than the skirt originally cost. The refusal to provide a receipt and the unapproved work made it impossible to dispute the charges. I left feeling misled and taken advantage of. I will never return, and I strongly suggest others think twice before doing business here. read more

Houri is incredible. I loved my wedding dress and was very reluctant to hand it over to just anyone because I had purchased it with my mom in Chicago at a little boutique. The entire team did such a wonderful job and with all of the things to coordinate with our wedding this was one thing I didn't worry about. Houri also gives excellent marriage advice, which is such a bonus when you're spending precious time with her before your big day. What a sweet couple her and her husband are. What a story... I started my search for an alteration company by researching alteration places in Nashville. After going to 3 other places with my wedding dress (they told me it was too complicated, one was going to charge me $700, the other was rude to me, etc), I literally was in tears because I didn't know where I was going to get it altered for a good price by a good person....that was until I randomly drove past Fashion Alterations. I pulled over after seeing a wedding dress in the window and briefly looking them up online. They got great reviews so I went in. I was greeted by the sweetest lady I have ever met - Houri. I officially love her. It's like my mom was there helping me! She was so nice and sweet and immediately helped me with my alterations. I told her my story of how I couldn't find a place and she immediately made me feel more comfortable. She has 2 daughters so she really cares for people. She took the time to ask me how I was feeling, make sure my dressed was pinned up to my liking and even hugged me when I needed it. I got my dress back and it fit PERFECT. She even was able to do the bussell for my wedding dress in a matter of hours so I could have on time for my pictures. Houri is my fairy godmother. I had a bridal dress emergency on my wedding weekend and she squeezed me in her busy schedule to help. I don't know of any other alterations person who would know how to do what she did. It took someone with years of experience to fix this intricate beading in my gown.
