Went here for the first time last Wednesday based on reviews. I requested a manicure and selected a color which was a matte finish. The tech did a good job with shaping my nails. When she applied the polish, it looked very sheer rather than the deep matte color I selected. After 3 days the polish started wearing off the end of my nails which is odd because I don't use my nails as tools. The photo is how my nails look on Saturday. I called Fashion Nails & Spa and they were able to get me in for a pedicure today. I was worried because of it being Sunday, but although they were extremely busy, they took great care of me. They have massage chairs that were very relaxing and I had it going before and during my pedicure. I was thrilled that even with all the customers, it didn't feel loud and chaotic and there was a very chill vibe. They give a 5% discount if you pay with cash, so I wanted to share that tip (I'm always looking for discounts), and the foot and leg massage were the best I can recall having. They did a great job with my pedicure as well, so I plan to make this a regular visit. I tried to get a good picture of my feet, but my comfort threshold would not allow me to post a photo. Not super impressed with my recent manicure. The time prior the gel/shellac lasted for 4 weeks... this time it started chipping within days, and by 1 week - this. I called and was told that "some colors only last 1 week to 10 days", which has never been the case for me either gel. Will be going back to GR for all nail appts moving forward. read more

Would not return. I was very hopeful upon entering because clearly these owners had put a LOT of money into fancy chairs and equipment. Alas the services didn't live up to the initial impression. My gal was slipshod with trimming, didn't follow the length and roundness of the nail I asked her to match. Several times I told her NOT to cut my cuticles (I've had previous infections from this horrid practice) which she insisted on doing absent-mindedly -- until I basically ordered her to stop. In addition I specifically requested NO GEL nail Polish be used, as I'd have trouble with removal in past. This was ignored...as apparently she used a gel overcoat. It was a disaster ...and I damaged my nail bed, even having the gel removed professionally. It's taken me several months without manicures to regrow a proper nailbed. Throughout the manicure my nail aesthetician was also talking with colleagues, fending phone calls, and simply railroading my session too quickly through. I noticed no attempt to sterilize equipment or use fresh towels even. Really an unpleasant experience. Never again. read more

My friend and I decided to try a new place to get pedicures before vacation. This place looked nice and was in a convenient area for us so we stopped in. They took us in immediately as walk ins, which was nice. My friend's nails needed another coat/touch up after she was done and when it was pointed out, they fixed it without any problems and it looked great. I would happily recommend this place, but we witnessed them use the same cuticle cutters on my friend and then the person next to her, didn't sanitize or get a new pair. The service and results were great but unfortunately the unsanitary practices seem like a good way to get an infection. read more

I had the perfect experience here for my first mani-pedi. I did my pedicure first and the chairs had built-in massages to choose from. My foot massage was great and so relaxing, I just totally zoned out into my book. For my manicure, I was able to get my nails cut to the length that I wanted after multiple tries. The first time, my lady asked if the length was okay and I asked for a bit shorter. The second time, she asked again if the length was okay and I requested a lot shorter because I was going to a wedding, but also playing bass guitar in an upcoming show. I received a lot of patience and great service and I'm overall so happy with my visit! I highly recommend this place to pamper yourself :) read more

This is the absolute worst nail place in Kalamazoo, THIS PLACE DOESNT EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR! DO NOT GO HERE unless you want hand painted acrylics that you could do at home!! The customer service is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. They made a mistake on my nails and didn't even try to fix the mistake, or accommodate for their misdoing! I ended up paying full price for half ass painted nails! The tips are not even flat, and the polish they used is all over my cuticles! To make things worse the owner was laughing!!!! There was absolutely nothing funny about the situation. Overall this place should be shut down for the lack of staff, shitty customer service, and LACK of knowledge on how to do nails. Well - I had appointment today at 1:30 - I got there at 12:45 signed in and was seated for my Pedicure. Ten min later they put was in the door tub - and hour later they came and added hot water again. Had a guy do my toe nails - drew Blood at one point. Took me to do my nails - got my finger wrapped in foil and let me sit there for over an hour. The girl next to me started to complain there her appointment Trent was at 2 and she had been sitting there all that time. I spoke up and said my appointment was at 1:30 and had come in 45 min early. They took her next ( my appt was 30 min before hers) they finally sent a new girl to start my nails. She was lost ! They moved me again to another station - where I waited a little longer while she did a kids nails that came in an hour after me. Needless to say the longer I sat there the angrier I was getting. After a while she came to do my nails..... she kept saying that during the holidays it always takes longer (4 hours?????) She did a shitty job on my nails - on Friday I will go some where else and have them fix this mess. Any way when she finished she said next time - I interrupted her and said sorry there won't be a next time for me. When you go some place to pamper yourself before a holiday and all you really walk away with is frustration - and they do a bad job to boot. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

Had such a wonderful time at Fashion Nails and Spa last night! I was super stressed out all day and decided to go get my nails done! I had never been here before but decided to give it a shot! Right off the bat I was greeted by Tina (who was absolutely hilarious and cracking jokes the whole time I was there!). They were running a bit late but they were very accommodating! I originally wanted to get a dip powder set but Tina talked me into Acrylics and I wouldn't ever regret it! They look so cute and i love them so much! Justin did my nails and he got the shape and design perfectly and did it in an quick timeframe as well! Not only were they super cute but they were well priced! I was ready to drop 100 dollars on a set and it came out to 65 without tip (I did tip well!)! I will most definitely be returning in the next few weeks! read more
