Very pleasantly surprised. The tacos are a good size, and the portion of rice is huge. I had 3 tacos - one chorizo, one al pastor, and one chicken. Chorizo was by far my favorite followed by al pastor. Chicken was a typical chicken taco - good, but nothing to write home about. I've been in Yorkville for a while now. WOW! My son was nice enough to bring a two tacos home as I had not eaten. He chose the chicken, so all good. I tried the this items and noticed an odd smell, besides lack of taste (seasoning). I decided to look a little closer and guess what, tuna fish has been added as a filler? Things that make you go Hmmm. I still have the dish (7-7-22) and await a reply. Alright let's taco bout it, It's kind of difficult to mess up Mexican, but it asks a quality staff to bring top of the like Mexican food. The food is good, not great. My husband told me that some of their coworkers where talking about this place so we finally give it a chance. I ordered chorizo taco with cheese, pastor tacos, steak tacos, carnitas tacos. I have been in a lot of place for pastor tacos and I really like the chorizo tacos then the pastor tacos. I dont think i will go back. My husband like the carnitas tacos. This place is worth going out of your way for! Pure quality from start to finish. Consistently great food, big smiling faces to greet you, prompt, helpful and friendly service, super clean. We always enjoy their burritos, tamales and tortas - but its the FISH TACOS that keep us going back for more and more - they're to die for!!! Having lived in California for several years, where fish tacos are a staple, we quickly recognized that this place is a notch above all others. Be sure to ask for their extra red and green sauces - both are great! Their creamy horchata fountain drinks are delish and accompany all their food perfectly. Of course, the only thing that would make this culinary experience over the top is the setting (this is a fast food diner) and some delicious margs! Was getting ready to hit the highway heading home on Sunday and was a little sad that I hadn't gotten a chance to fit a "super burrito" into my weekend plans but as we're cruising down 47 through Yorkville I spy the Fast Burritos sign out of the corner of my eye and flip an immediate louie. The menu board was exactly what I was hoping for and the prices were phenomenal for the quantity. I rarely venture far from the carne asada burrito but the variety of meats and dishes rivals any fast-food Mexican in the US. In St Louis we're typically paying north of $7 for a loaded carne asada burrito that is half the size and flavor. At $5.35 + a little for sour cream, these were a bargain. Tasty, well-made, zero gristle. Perfect! Wish I'd have remembered to add fresh avocado! The place looked clean, so unless they've done a major overhaul lately, the complaints about dirty carpet must be a bad bath salts memory (no carpet to speak of?). Guy behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming, almost like you were a long-lost friend. Anyway, not sure if/when I'll ever be passing through Yorkville again but you folks have got a gem in Fast Burritos. My only advice, if anyone's listening, would be to add a "baby" or JR burrito to the menu for kids and ladies and charge $3.50. read more

This is favorite of mine of if I have the kids, one quesadilla platter and I'm good to go for 4 tots. Nachos are the next winner made with real cheeses, not that yellow gook. Portions are good but the steak Is a little bland. I would choose a different meat. Over all good pick! read more

Four years later and I now live 20 hours away, I wish I could move Fast Burrito to Idaho

We just moved to Yorkville and have been sampling all the restaurants in the area when we came across Fast Burrito. The food is delicious (I'm Mexican and know what good beans and Mexican dishes should taste like), and the service is great each & every time. We have 3 problems with this location... 1. there's a guy who works the weekends (I don't think he's the owner). One weekend, we came in and ordered carrots & peppers with our meal. Unfortunately, as soon as my husband opened the top, he noticed what looked like to be a piece of wire in the cup. Possibly a piece of brillo from a scrubbing pad, I don't know. We immediately, brought it up to the guy who worked the front counter, who looked at it, set it aside and gave us a new cup of carrots & peppers. No apology forthcoming, nothing. He just looked at my husband and shrugged. When our food was ready, he just kind of yelled something and moved his head to indicate our plates were ready for pick-up. While I love this place and most of the time I think we deal with the owner when we go there, this guy on the weekends is the worst. 2. we witnessed the same guy dealing with a customer as we were leaving. The customer is standing at the counter, just waiting for the guy (who looks like he's not happy to see anyone enter the restaurant whenever someone did come in) to say something (...how can I help you?, what will you have?), but nothing. He just stares at the customer. The customer asks, "are you ready?", the guy says, "of course I'm ready", and the customer says, "well you're not saying anything and just standing there". Talk about NO customer service etiquiette and not welcoming! 3. when I went up to grab a drink, I noticed that the employees are not wearing masks while cooking. We have a pandemic going on, how do I know that employee has been vaccinated? Again, I love the food and want to come back, but not if that same front desk guy is working there, not unless they get their cleaning & food hygiene corrected, and not unless employees wear face masks. Though the food is 5 stars, the episode with the piece of brillo wire in our carrots & jalapeños, AND the fact that my husband could have swallowed it, along with the customer service that day, deserves 1 star for now. Also, have someone taking the phone orders in the back, not at the front desk when customers are lined up waiting to order - it's just rude. read more
