I had got the steak enchiladas and I was impressed by how flavorful the food was and they have frozen margaritas that was really good.

Me and my wife recently stopped here to grab a midday lunch. We've never been here before but they have some great items that we both like. I'm surprised they didn't have a taco dinner option on the menu so I just ordered three separate tacos and had rice and beans on the side as a combo. The food was a bit pricey compared to other similar places. The place was a little dirty as well. Dining room was mostly empty the day that we arrived. Food was actually really good for what it was. Tacos were a bit small though for the money you spend but you get a great portion of rice and beans. Parking is a bit tricky. If you were coming here heading Southbound it's just easier to park in the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot. read more

The fries here are fantastic! The Al pastor fries were so good! That was my favorite thing we ordered! I ordered the salsa verde bowl with chicken tinga. It was huge! All the flavors were great. Stopped in tonight for the tacos have never had a problem there before ordered two steak tacos and guacamole and chips. Paid for it after 10 minutes. The girl comes to the window and says you ordered grilled chicken tacos and guacamole chips. I explained to the girl no I ordered two steak tacos and guacamole chips. She takes the food back inside waits another 10 minutes comes back to the window says oh so you don't want your food I said I want my food. Placed an order thirty minutes before the pickup. Parking lot and drive thru was busy. Got to the speaker 40 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready. They played a game as if they were having trouble verifying the order. After waiting at the speaker for several minutes. I called salsa verde to see what is going on. At that time they told me the order that was placed an hour and fifteen minutes prior was still not ready. They had many orders ahead of my order. They have failed to adapt to their new location and don't have customer service. Charged me $3.00 extra to pico inside my quesadillas even thought it comes with a cup of pico on the side free of charge. When I got my order, the pico wasn't not inside the quesadilla as requested but just on the side. If employees can't follow simple menu modifications maybe they shouldn't be working here. Opened at new location in yorkville office of route 47. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else to eat. The only positive thing was the cashier was friendly and smiling. The food was nasty, ordered shrimp fajitas and there was ZERO flavor, the vegetables were cut way to big to attempt to eat. The corn tortillas (3) were street taco size and very fragile. The beans were cold with some crumbles of some kind a cheese in one big lump and wouldn't come apart. The rice was so bland and also was cold. You are better off going to pepes or fast burrito. The amount of food I got for 18 bucks was not worth the price, 6 pieces of shrimp 6 huge pieces of tomato and a few gigantic pieces of under cooked green pepper with a few mostly raw onions. My wife had a way undercooked chimichanga and the tortilla it was wrapped in was almost impossible to cut, ( 6 layers of tortillas that you had to rip it apart with your hands). Let's just say...if you order a green chicken tamale. You will be greeted by a piece of carrot inside the tamale and dryness. I am sorry, but not too sorry. We ordered delivery from this restaurant and the food quality was terrible. Our hominy soup tasted bad and was missing the cabbage also the tostadas that accompany the soup were stale. The meat on our expensive steak tacos was almost nonexistent, also what kind of restaurant doesn't include salsa or at least a pack of hot sauce. The tamale was trash, inedible. Last but not least, the churro was caked in damp sugar, you could barely see the churro itself, also trash. You can definitely tell it's a chain restaurant. The most amazing food. Their Al pastor torta is our go to! Love how there's marinated pineapple and onion in the Al pastor as well. We also love ordering their cheese quesadillas for our son. They hook it up! We also had the best customer service experience with salsa verde tonight, we had ordered through uber eats and one of our items got misplaced. They were extremely apologetic which wasn't necessary, mistakes happen! And then they rectified the problem by sending us the order again and it was more than appreciated. Every component of the tongue sandwich I ordered was top notch - from the generous portion of perfectly cooked and seasoned succulent falling apart tender and juicy tongue, to the light and airy fresh baked roll and everything in between. That green sauce it came with is amazing... but would be even more amazing if they would cut back an the salt just a little bit, imho. Excellent Mexican food. This is a sit down restaurant with counter ordering and number system when your order is ready. We had the carnitas and shredded chicken tacos. Additionally chips and fresh guacamole. There is a "salsa bar" for many additional toppings. Food was hot when served and very tasty. Staff was friendly. This is a place to try. Overall, this place needs a lot of work on a few things. While it is new, staff shouldn't be socializing with friends during work hours, especially when the girl working the register also has to clean the tables by herself and others are laughing with friends. Secondly, to charge $1.99 for chips and salsa when prices are close to full service places?! Also, I asked and there's no free refills on chips or salsa. When I visited, the salsa was ice cold. Now, I don't mind cold salsa, but ICE cold is another matter. I had steak fajitas and when I was placing my order I had seen steak already precooked. I stayed at the counter and sure enough, they took the steak that was sitting on the side and used it for my order. It was warm, no sizzle and I regret not speaking up. My beans were lukewarm and rice were just a tad dry. You got 3 tortillas rolled in foil. (which were hot) The so called salsa bar has these little pee cups that don't hold enough and I ended up walking over with my plate. Sadly, people who know and frequent excellent Mexican food will be disappointed. Hopefully they'll listen and tweak things as time goes on.
