So 7 years later, this venue still does not have sufficient air conditioning. I'm only here for a tournament, but I will ask our club to never book here again. Seriously though - we're in HOUSTON and it's always hot! The poor players are even miserable in this heated venue! For how much families pay to watch their loved ones, I'm sure y'all could easily afford AC! read more

Horrible experience. Tryouts are very unprofessional and the outcome drives the experience. HJV is a revenue stream that does not care about development. Coach's from the Premier level to the Adidas level are not experienced and totally ignore mental performance, nutritional, and especially activation or recovery. Playing time is supposed to be centered on performance; however some coaches play equal time to players who have been placed on the wrong team which holds back performance players. Coaches allow gummy bears, sugar snacks, which the players eat between matches and sleep during game time. At one event I observed a team with a stuffed chicken where one player was squeezing the chicken and the team on the court was watching the chicken and not playing volleyball. I also observed players posting questionable content on Instagram in thier court volleyball gear during a tournament. The coach's want full control of the players; however do not take on the role as a responsible adult. The owners have a different view of the stated above. They do not condone the behavior and actions of the coach's, however they have no oversight over the coaches behavior or evaluation of the ability of the coachs. This is a costly adventure whether your on a traveling team or not. I feel HJV Fast Complex needs to do a better job if they are going to charge as much as they do. The owners initial expectations statement to the parents at the beginning of the year does not match the coach's expectations. I hope that HJV can execute the owners expectations and make the program simply better read more

I love it so much very cold for a lot of people that was in it. Staff was very nice and the people at the food stand were nice too, they had some parts closed up because there was a leak and had people crammed in because they didn't have enough room but it's alright the kids that were at the cashier reminded me about the 10 dollar minimum overall 5 stars I would come back here every time to see the wonderful people read more

The concessions are not bad but there is a $10 minimum to use your credit card. There is no sign that says this but the cashier will let you know. My total came to 9.50 and I was told the minimum was $10 to use my card and I could add a $3 candy if I wanted to use my card. Luckily, I had cash but what if I didn't ... they will force you to buy more. That sucks!!!!! As the items are already overpriced. read more

I have to say this year we had the worst team experience we ever had in 21 years. My daughter was very excited to play for HJV. After attending the first three tournaments, my daughter decided to speak to her coach about her playing time. This coach never communicated with my daughter or myself about my daughter/her skills/her placement/how to improve/nor her playing time. After my daughter asked the coach why she was not getting any play time at tournaments, we were told by the owner that my daughter was placed on the wrong team (by the coaches who my daughter tried out in front of to get on a HJV team). Instead of coming to us and talking to us like professionals they just took our money and allowed our daughter to sit on the sidelines during all the tournaments. I don't think she played more than 5 minutes at any tournament up to this time. We also traveled to San Antonio, took time off from work, incurred hotel and other expenses and my daughter barely played (less than 5 minutes). I would never recommend this club to anyone. After not playing at the first three tournaments, including one out of town one, my daughter's morale was gone and she no longer was excited about volleyball. Furthermore, we should have been given the choice of getting a full refund for this club's mistake. Two other things I don't agree with regarding HJV, is the lack of care towards school, sicknesses and other important events. Team members are only allowed four absences when joining this team. They do not seem to care for National Honor Society girls who need time off for exams, midterms and finals. If you are sick, you need to attend. Furthermore, during the volunteering hours (that the girls are required to do) my daughter worked in the club's snack bar for 8 hours with only a 15 min break. It would be a better experience to volunteer for a charity but not for a money-making business owned by the same owners. I also thought that communication from this club regarding issues with almost nonexistent. Emails we sent to coach and owner and were barely responded to. I think it was a terrible idea to switch to HJV and a complete waste of time and money. I do not recommend this team to anyone. They will place your child on a team, not play them and then say it was not the right placement or child missed too many practices (she stopped caring once we were told she was on the wrong team) but they will do little to make sure your child has a good season. read more

Decent facility. Very hot, very hot in there to be holding a vball tournament. Only tournament that charges for both days separately. I'm sure it was a venue thing, not sure why this tournament was run different. They also charge for ice at this facility which is RidiC. Hope we don't have any other games here!! read more

This complex is crazy! They don't allow players to bring their own lunch and eat it in the eating area. They want them to buy overpriced concession food. They threaten players if they pull out their own sandwich . These are athletes and should be allowed to eat a nutritious lunch. Sure they can go outside but they are sweaty and it's cold...so they want them to get sick. Get over yourselves FAST...other volleyball venues don't do this! read more

My daughter plays in a league here. The facility is very soavious, clean and huge menu for the snack bar. What I like most is the have several tvs and will turn on the games for the dads. read more

This is a great facility. Houston Juniors is one of the best clubs in H-town. The coaches are professional and outstanding at coaching volleyball. They all have tons of experience. A great place if you really want your daughter to excel at Volleyball and compete. read more

The event that my daughter was signed up for was poorly planned. It was to be a three day skills camp, but when we arrived there were only five kids signed up. The director was rude, and unable to answer our questions as to how the skills camp was to be able to work with so few kids. The whole thing seemed very shady. I was not about to leave my 9 year old daughter alone for four hours in this facility in this type of environment. The whole thing felt sketchy. 100% would never register for anything from this company again. Facility looks nice, too bad we will never use it. read more

We have been with Houston Juniors for four years and are 100% happy all around with this club. From the skills training, private lessons, off-season training, club season information/travel, to the best strength and conditioning coach around, our daughter has had a wonderful experience. We are the most happy with the amount of information the club gives regarding recruiting and what my daughter needed to do to be successful for herself in presenting her best self to colleges. Setting a child up for their future also depends on how much work that child is willing to put forth. These coaches have been a positive impact in my daughter's life in that she has been excited to do the work set before her!! Thank you Houston Juniors. read more
