To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement. We hired Alan and his team not based on price but rather the thoroughness of his estimate and professionalism. Of the 6 quotes we received his was firmly in the middle. Alan was able to accommodate our schedule and showed up promptly on the first day of a three day job and was fantastic. Aside from him taking a break to give my neighbor a quote. The second day got off to a bit of a shaky start as they had some mechanical issues, and could not grind our stumps until the afternoon. He took this time to work on my neighbors yard, despite still having about half of our job left to go. This understandably pushed back their timeline and they were unable to finish. The third day never came. There was some miscommunication about the height of one of our trees (we wanted it a bit lower than he had left it) and we contacted him to explain this. He became defensive indicating that he had done a great job and it was plenty short. After this brief phone call we thought nothing of it, as he was scheduled to come back the next week to finish trimming a different tree and we would pick up the conversation of cutting the original tree a little shorter in person. Except he never showed up. He stopped answering messages and phone calls. Frankly we thought something had happened and he was in the hospital or something. I was just notified today that my neighbor who had hired him a few weeks ago, spoke with him, and he had said he doesn't like arguing and that was the reason he never came back and finished the job. We are severely disappointed at this as Alan had done a great job to that point and we simply wanted him to cut the trees to our preference and not his. We are relieved nothing bad had happened to him but at the same time we can not recommend him for your tree cutting needs, unless you want to have trees left undone. read more

They came to my house to do the estimation, gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone. We also quickly scheduled the tree service next day, what a surprise. Alan's quote for removal of one tree and stump was second to lowest and we chose him due to his availability and prompt responses. I sent him a picture of the tree that needs to be cut down via text and he didn't even need to come by my property to take a look. He warned me that all irrigation and sprinklers must be temporarily removed around the area of the tree and that he is not liable should he break anything. I agreed and found nothing on or around the tree, then scheduled with Alan. Unfortunately, there was a water drainer UNDER the tree which had cracked during the stump grinding process. I mean, it's not anyone's fault since the drainage was hiding underground- beneath a large tree, it could have happened to anyone since it isn't visible. Besides, it's an easy and cheap fix. After he was done with the job, I asked him if he can remove 2 more small eucalyptus trees in the back, along with loads of tree branches, dead plants and dried out twigs and leaves that had already been cut down/dug out. He ok'd it and charged a little extra which was next to nothing. Finally, he suggested that we remove 2 other massive trees in the back because it is growing so tall and crooked and may result in falling down to the neighbor's yard, but I declined...for now. Alan seems very knowledgeable- like he's been doing this all his life! He's super fast, and so easy to schedule with. His prices are very reasonable considering the extra debris he removed for me which was not in the original quote. Alan is generally nice guy. Gave me an fair estimate to remove a large London Plane tree. Took it down quickly and cleaned up whatever was left. Gave me advice on what I could do to assist him in removing more of the stump (dig away dirt to allow his machine to get lower which I did). Came back and pretty much removed the entire stump and surrounding roots. Not that I have a lot of need for his services (hopefully my trees stay healthy) but if I do he will be the one I call. With the double edged sword of all the rain we have been getting over the past few months, availability for arborist was limited. I was also scared because I've heard that tree removal gets expensive. Alan is one of many that I reach out to. Returned my message quickly and said that he can come by in a few hours. He knew how urgent our need was. Quickly gave me an estimate and said that he can do the job first thing the next morning and would be done by noon. I needed a large tree stump ground away to make way for a new retaining wall project. I texted a few photos of the job to Alan and he called me back quickly with a quote, we discussed a few other details, and we scheduled the job date. Well, one of the things we had to do was get our trees trimmed to keep them from blocking the $$ generating Sun. Truly "Fast Response"! I called 2 other tree service companies, and both could not come out to give me an estimate until a week later. I called Fast Tree Response, left a message for Alan in the morning, received a text back an hour or two later, and he came to my house that afternoon! A large branch had fallen from my tree, and I was worried we might need to have the tree removed. He advised that it was not necessary, but I should have it pruned. He also advised me to put tree paint (pruning sealer) where the branch had broken and bark had peeled off. The pine and magnolia trees were so close to our home that the roots were a threat to the foundation, and the branches were causing damage to our roof.
