Although it's an older building, they have provided two accessibility ramps to help welcome everyone. As someone who is visually impaired, check-in kiosks without audible options can leave me excluded. I was diagnosed from my doctors in AZ with an upper respiratory infection. I went here. I made an appointment. Waited an hour to be seen. Next it was a PA who came in. She looked at my right ear only said I did not have an ear infection. And, to start taking Sudafed. She never looked at my left ear. Never felt my throat. Did not listen to my lungs. Then told me she suffers from ear ringing herself on the daily. I will be going to another place for my urgent care needs.

If you have a child experiencing appendicitis like symptoms, take them to the pediatric ER. My son was having pain in his right side and we went to AFC Urgent Care. We waited for 30 minutes and were seen by someone at AFC Urgent Care, not sure if she was a Dr or PA or nurse - she asked about symptoms. She barely pushed on his right side no gloves and announced that they were unable to go further as they didn't have a CT machine and she was required to refer us to the ER. After waiting at the ER for 4 hours, he had a CT scan and were referred to the pediatric ER. The bills of all these visits are piling up. I called AFC with this suggestion: Anyone at AFC could have explained at reception that they could not diagnose ANY appendicitis like symptoms and we could have saved $100 on our copay. They said a medical professional has to do that - so wanted everyone else to be aware of this highway robbery.

Lack of Care: I felt that the staff at FastMed did not prioritize my care and were more concerned with casual conversations. High Cost and Inappropriate Prescription: I was charged $50 for a PA visit and received a prescription for a brand-name medication that was not covered by insurance, costing $425. I looked up the prescription and it comes in generic. But the PA was not concerned about updating the medication to the generic. Patient's Condition: I was very sick with a fever and needed medication immediately. Pharmacy Contact: I even provided the PA with the contact information for their pharmacy (Walgreens, 6 Forks Rd., phone number 919-787-1155) and asked them to call directly. PA's Incompetence: The PA failed to read the patient's notes, causing a delay in treatment despite my urgent condition. Medical Experience: I had trouble getting critical medicine and reaching the "PA's" office. Appointment Policy: Most medical facilities have a policy where if someone is more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, they have to reschedule 24 hours in advance or pay a fee. The policy should go both ways. Recommended Doctor: I hugely recommend Capital Family Medicine and Dr. Short.

The timing, once registered, to being shown to exam room and between the person coming in to take my information on the laptop and the PA to begin her diagnosis, was as to be expected. A good click. The wait to go for x ray was short enough after a conversation with the PA. Then I sat for 2+ hours in pain, after several positions and xrays, while they waited for a radiologist to read my x rays. Although, every 15 to 20 minutes, someone poked their head in the door to see if I was okay, that wait was too long. By the time I was back in my car, it was 1 o'clock. I only chose that location as it was the closest when the injury happened. I live 30 min from there. Luckily, there is no fracture. Everyone was nice, friendly, and acknowledging my wait, but still.
