I remember going here for the first time, and it was very awesome, as well as very inspiring too. What I like best were the cupcakes and how delicious they looked (and still do, from my perspective). Basically, I tried the "Pretty in Pink" cupcake for the first time, and I took a liking to it. To be honest, it was delicious, or "délicieuse" (as they say in French). Also, the young lady working there was very nice, sweet and friendly. Both the service and the food are what I would give five stars (although ten stars would be even better). Phenomenal! I'm so glad Fat Cupcake was recommended to my husband and I by our wedding venue the Abernethy Center. We had such a great time at our tasting appointment and had an extremely hard time selecting our flavors because we enjoyed so many. I fell in love with a seasonal flavor they had last summer and the shop was so kind to recreate something similar for us to serve at our wedding. I went in to order some Beauty and the Beast theme cupcakes for my daughter's high school graduation party. After talking to the young lady in the store, she sent me home with some things to think about before I actually made my order. FAT Cupcake is AMAZING. I was visiting Oregon when I tried this place. I went multiple times during my visit and couldn't get enough. I wanted to try ALL the cupcakes. They have so many fun flavors. We need a FAT Cupcake in Texas! The atmosphere is great, the staff is insanely friendly, and the cupcakes are delicious! I'd have to say my personal favorite was the Charlie Brown cupcake. It's a chocolate cupcake with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup inside and peanut butter frosting. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Oregon. We ordered a 8" 4 layer "Butler" Superman cake for our sons 1st birthday, as well as a small "Tuna can" sized mini smash cake. Total cost was $78. They charged $25 for the decoration I wanted which was extremely simple/minimal.. I was going to make the cake myself but wanted a professional cake done for our babies first birthday. We were very disappointed! Both cakes looked very sloppily done. I could have decorated it much better myself as well as made the flavor better. We were immediately dissatisfied with the looks of the cake and just hoped the taste would make up for it. Sadly this was not the case. Everyone at the party said we got majorly ripped off and should complain. The Butler cake was supposed to be chocolate cake with white chocolate mouse filling, covered in vanilla Buttercream and chocolate gnache. There was no chocolate gnache to be seen. When I ordered it the lady said they would would be able cover the gnache with the Buttercream. So how is it appropriate in any way to charge for this specialty cake and leave out toppings (gnache) then not say anything, and charge for it? They will never get our business again. I should also add as a side note.. About 36 hours after our baby ate his smash cake he came down with the flu. No one else in the family or party came down sick except for him. He had not been anywhere besides home for 48 hours prior to him getting sick. The only difference or exposure he had to anything that noone else had was his smash cake. I see on other reviews that this place is not very hygienic.. If you people did get my baby sick by being uncleanly while making his 1st birthday cake.. You should be shut down! read more

It was very tasty and filling. My friend got the one with Cheetos on top & a mini lemon cupcake. She said her cupcakes were delicious. My son got the banana cupcake - it was really yummy. It used to be embarrassing to have to take a dish to a potluck, because my cooking sometimes resembles if poutine and natto had a love child (A Canadian and Japanese food reference in a review...that's some Yelp cred right there!). That was before I started using Fat Cupcake as the official supplier of food for me to take to a potluck. I have found that her mini cupcakes become the hit of any get together that you've got to take food to. Seriously, the first bite I took of a Fat Cupcake (it was the Charlie Brown), I know that this place was the real deal. Ordinarily, I'm not a cupcake fan...but these don't taste like you're ordinary cupcakes....it's worth a special trip to the OC to try this place out. If you do go to Fat Cupcake, you'll find the staff there to be welcoming, friendly, and ready to help you. Very cute bakery with an assortment of cupcakes. I like that they stock mini cupcakes in the same flavors as most of the cupcakes. Bought several to sample. Have tried a chocolate one with a white creamy filling and a German Chocolate style one. Both moist. The regular chocolate one had good chocolate flavor throughout. I was a little disappointed that the German Chocolate one was chocolate cake with no filling, and chocolate frosting with a dab of coconut frosting on top. I think filling with more coconut would give a more intense flavor. Also wish they had more non chocolate flavors such as carrot cake and red velvet. But... Still very good. read more

They were as delicious as they were fancy. there is one that has an oreo inside and it is....BOMB-diggity. SO flipping good, honestly I tried probably four different sweet flavors and they were heaven sent. I liked some more than others but they were just GREAT cupcakes. I'm usually not crazy for cake, but this place has a lot of creativity behind their little cupcakes, with some blends of flavors and adding unique, sweet things to cupcakes that brings the taste and texture up a notch.
