Pastries (savory and sweet) are delicious! We tried the savory scone, orange and cranberry scone, raspberry strudel, spinach and feta pastry puff, and ham and cheese pastry puff. It was all delicious. Very much recommend their coffees as well. Especially the peanut butter cold brew. Service was quick and the store front was very cute. Came here because I wanted to support small business. Ordered an Americano with a splash of heavy cream and he tried to charge me $1.50 for a splash of cream. Coffee shops charge that much for alternative milk in a latte (as you are getting ~10 ounces of it) so I clarified that I just wanted a splash. He grumpily said that's how much they charge. Honestly would have been no big deal but if I am paying $7 after tip for an AMERICANO-- it's going to be without attitude. read more

Stopped by this little bakery after seeing reviews on Yelp. Got there right before they opened & was happy to see a few other cars also waiting. The two folks working were knowledgeable of their products & really nice. There was a nice selection of items in the bake case and a few items in a hot case as well. We chose a frosted cinnamon roll, a s'mores scone & and savory margarita puff. The cinnamon roll was light and fluffy, but unfortunately it didn't have a whole lot of depth. The scone was disappointing as it was more like a chocolate chip scone with icing than a s'more scone. The best pastry was definitely the margarita puff which had a savory taste of a margarita pizza. We did get our pastries to go, but they've got a nice sitting area outside which looked lovely. Based on all of this we give on the mangiamamma scale of delicious. read more

We've always loved this bakery, but today's experience was incredibly disappointing. I came in and purchased just one dozen mixed items, nothing outrageous or unreasonable; and was met with pushback from staff. I was told that next time I should "call in" so I don't deplete their inventory for the day. Excuse me? Isn't the purpose of a bakery to sell baked goods to customers who walk in? Being made to feel guilty for purchasing a dozen items is absurd and unprofessional. Sadly, this left a sour taste that had nothing to do with the food. read more

Recently moved and one of our neighbors brought us scones as a housewarming gift. OMG!! These were awesome!! Had to go find this place. Looked it up and went for a visit. The place itself is cute and simple. They have homemade pastries and coffee. One case of products and a seating area to sit and enjoy your treats. I announced myself as a newbie and the guy behind the counter walked me through the options, told me about how they operate and just visited a little. Very welcoming. Old fashion customer service that was almost shocking in today's world. This is definitely a guilty pleasure kind of place. Great pastries. Great custom service. The pastry reminds me of a light and fluffy quiche. I highly recommend checking out this little bakery if you're in Oregon city. A smaller place, off the beaten commercial trails, this will be easy to drive by if you're not careful. The pastries are light with a few different spreads that make them less-light. Very tasty, also fairly expensive - $4.50 for a cinnamon roll? Staff was helpful, service was quick and cheerful. I stopped by to grab some rolls and go. The wife and I split two of them so we could both try the orange and maple varieties. The orange was a bit lighter than the maple, however no one gets one of these for a "light snack". I'll go back - eager to try one of the bars - I didn't see any the time I was their. read more

Drive slow, or you'll miss this "not to be missed" bakery and cafe! This mother & daughter run place is like taking a step back in time the way things used to be. You get greeted when you walk in. If you're a regular, you'll get greeted by name. Whoever's at the counter actually wants to take care of you. The pastries and coffee are made fresh and they taste that way. I love how the variety of different kinds of scones and rolls change from time to time. If you have a particular favorite though, get there early because when they're gone, they're gone! I thought I was going to have to fight an elderly lady for a Lemon Poppyseed scone. Fortunately, there were enough for each of to have one. Nobody had to get hurt that day. Pure Bliss Bakery & Cafe is definitely a must visit. If you're anywhere in the Portland area, it's worth the beautiful drive out to Oregon City. This is not your run of the mill coffee house. This is such a lovely bakery! The owner is very friendly and inviting, this was my first time here and she made me feel like I was an old friend! Average bakery, nothing I tried knocked my socks off. Wasn't much selection, but it wasn't early to be fair. Scone was rather bitter which is usually from store-bought baking powder, but it had a nice texture. Not a ton of atmosphere (guessing they do more catering/wholesale business based on where it's at and vibe). You can preorder ahead of time to fill your order, otherwise, if you walk in you are limited to three pastries max. I had read about this place and bookmarked it. I expected it to be either in downtown Oregon City or near Hilltop. Pure Bliss is further inboard, on a side street and in a residential neighborhood. They still manage to have a small parking lot in front of what almost looks like a house. Their hours are a little strange and jiggle just a little bit on some days. The ones shown on this listing are a little off. That said, they start out with more things in the morning and there is less as the day goes on. Arriving slightly after lunch, the orange rolls I had set my sights on had been depleted. I get it. They're a small business and have to make decisions about how much and what to make and prepare. Instead, I had a cinnamon roll and a slice of chocolate cake. They were moist and very tasty. Their prices were fair and the service was decent. This is a tough one. I didn't find Pure Bliss to be a 5. Instead, I'll say it could be a 4 if you live closer to it or find yourself in the area somewhat regularly. If you live further away, it's probably a 3. I live farther away so, for that reason, it's a 3 for me, which is still a good rating. read more

I stopped in here about a month ago just to check the place out since it was so close to home and in the last two years I had never made it there until then. It is a very tiny place with easy accessible parking right off the street. Friendly staff and unbelievably great tasting plain old drip coffee (it's great with just a little bit of cream in it, and not too acidic like that nasty old Starbucks Pike blend ) and they have the usual line up of espresso based coffees as well. There are scones and cookies in a small case you can't miss right when you walk in door. I am particularly addicted to the ham and chive scones which they served heated up and it goes fantastic with one of their scratch soups (also fantastic and very delicious both times I have had the random soup of the day.) And they are even great to-go. I brought one home and wrapped it in the paper it came with and stuffed it inside a ziplock baggie and tried to press all the air out of it. I forgot about it in the refrigerator until two days later. I popped it in the microwave for 30 seconds and pulled it out of the ziplock baggie and it was amazingly fresh tasting and not all dried up and hard. There is some outdoor seating that would be nice during good weather. Unfortunately if you need to use the restroom, it is only accessible by going outside the front door and around the side of the building, which seems inconvenient on days with bad weather. On the bright side, they have free Wi-Fi that you can use while you finish up a light lunch or a quick bite to eat. I have seen people that look like regulars hanging out having general conversation or others having small business meetings. The tables typically seat to but no more than 4 people, and there is probably only about six tables (or maybe eight?) Oh! And they started up a loyalty program of some kind where you can collect a few points each time you go in and be rewarded after a certain threshold has been met. Just enter your phone number (or was it an email) once on your first visit, and the system will remember you afterwards. Easy peasy! one thing that has kept me from wanting to go there before now was that when I think of a bakery I think of a bunch of sugary high children and cases full of things that diabetics fear. But there is a surprising amount of light lunch and breakfast items that are alternatives to the traditional sugary (Dunkin donuts type) of bakery items, and you can walkaway with having only spent between $3.25 to $8.75 depending on your appetite. This place accepts debit cards and credit cards (you can conveniently receive your receipt on your smartphone immediately after paying) and there is a tip jar on the counter. It is the kind of place you walk up and tell them what you want to order and then sit down and they bring it out to you. Be prepared to bus your own table when you're done. read more

Always thought to myself I should try them out. One day I had 30 min to spare and it was mid morning - perfect opportunity for a coffee and a sweet thing. So glad I finally stopped. Pure Bliss Bakery is simply charming. They have their baked goods up front in glass, and a menu with sandwiches (panini's too), and other lunch items for order. The cafe is cozy and feels isolated in the midst of Oregon City suburbia. It is a quiet corner. I was excited to try the baked goods, and so ordered a box of miscellaneous pastries. This included a Marionberry Bar, a Blueberry Bar, a Espresso Chocolate Brownie, a Pecan Bar, and a Currant Scone. They were all very good. I would say that the Blueberry Bar was my least favorite of the sweet bunch. It tasted a bit doughy to me. The Marionberry Bar tasted solely of Marionberry, even with the brown sugar oat pastry, the Marionberry screamed it's flavor, just perfect. They were all good, but this currant scone, oh, this scone was goddess food. Yes, it gets it's own paragraph. The scone had a whisper of cornmeal flavor, sweet, subtle, and the texture, the amazing texture! This scone will make you question if you were really ever happy in your life before tasting it. I get my cupcakes at Fat Cupcake, period. I am a loyal gal, and Fat Cupcake is my cupcake dealer. However, Pure Bliss is just pure bliss for when I need some sweet treats beyond those mini cakes. I live just down the street from this place, I am sure I have driven by it many times because it is very easy to miss. I had purchased I groupon or something for lunch at this place. The lunch was actually really good, its been a while since I ate lunch there, can't remember what I got, but I know I liked it and so did the wife. The real stars here are the pastries. I sometimes find myself pretending there is a minimum purchase to use a debit card so that I have an excuse to buy eight things just for myself. I have had the blackberry sweet roll, its just, ugh, no words... The marionberry bar, the cinnamon roll, raspberry muffin, pumpkin cheesecake muffin, berry scone, pecan sticky bun, all good. See, I told you, I buy a lot of stuff here. It's good. Know what else they have here in large quantities? Great customer service. It's run by sisters who were (are?) in the catering business? They are nice and inviting and happy to chat. The pastries are great, but the owners keep me wanting to come back.
