I wanted a sweet treat and found this gem through Google. It's tucked in that tiny little shopping center with the 7/11 in Tigard. I come from SoCal where there are panaderias a-plenty. For a reunion, I ordered a Hazelnut cake with hazelnut whipped cream frosting and a Strawberry shortcake cake with whipped cream frosting. Both cakes were so impressively and beautifully decorated (they made such gorgeous presentations), and both cakes were delicious. The Hazelnut cake with the hazelnut whipped cream frosting was out-of-this-world delicious. It was the best cake I've ever had. Everyone, myself included, returned for seconds for both cakes. I wanted to pick up the cake the day before the proposal to make sure everything was perfect. When I went, the cake was done, but it was glossy--not the matte finish I had clearly asked for. The baker assured me it would become matte overnight, but that turned out to be completely wrong. The next day, the cake was still glossy, unfinished, and melted almost immediately. It was slippery and looked terrible. On top of that, the cake was damaged, and when I reached out for help, the bakery refused to fix the problem. This was incredibly disappointing and stressful, especially since this cake was supposed to be a key part of my proposal. The taste of the cake was horrible, not because of any mishandling or damage, but simply because the cake itself was bad. It didn't taste good at all, which made the whole experience even worse. Overall, this experience was very unprofessional and ruined a very special day. I would never trust this bakery for any important occasion, as they clearly cannot deliver what they promise or handle problems properly. Overall, do not trust this bakery for a very important day. They've ruined my day, and when asked for a refund the next day, she refused to give me a refund and said I can do whatever I want and dispute the charge as I like. read more

Oh wow, we were so not expecting the cake that we got... this was literally amazing and also the first time we finished ANY cake especially one this big. We ordered 1 month prior to the event, we got a vanilla cake with strawberry preserve and whipped topping. From what I was told they were going to just make the cake ombré with green because my sons party was dinosaur themed. Never did I once expect them to go over and BEYOND with the decorations. When I picked it up I was FLOORED... a VOLCANO?!? ANNND LAKE?!!!? It was so adorable. They knew we were going to decorate with dinosaur toys but I guess they decided to go over and beyond with any of my wildest dreams. They don't however have sugar free desserts as other reviews or Google had indicated so if that's what you're looking for this is definitely not the place, but they do have great baked goods and are very friendly and helpful! read more

This review is so long overdue , but back in February I walked into the store asking if they could make me a 6in" cake for that same day. I chose tres leches flavor and had real fruit added for an extra (reasonable) fee. They were so very accommodating despite how busy they were with orders. I was able to come back later that day for my cake and not only was it beautiful , it was delicious too!!!! Like many we frequent the same two or three bakeries for birthday cakes. This year I ventured out and am glad I did. The is a Mexican Bakery, so be prepared for goodies different from the norm. The Tres Leches Cake is probably their best seller, maybe order one to complement a "regular" cake for some variety. Speaking of which, they also offer traditional cakes such as German Chocolate, Carrot, etc. The crowd enjoyed the Tres Leches, but the Carrot seemed just a touch dry. I'll go back, but will stick with their specialties. Price points are much lower than popular bakeries such as Ja Civa. If you're used to Safeway and Fred Meyer give this place a try, you'll probably save money. The owner and staff are very nice, the kind of folks you want to see succeed. read more

Wasn't sure what that cake was, or thought I read their very various kinds, but coconut flakes and pecans is typical and was very good, if you like that flavor on a cake. I haven't been inside the actual brick and mortar location. I discovered their pan de conchas in the front area of winco with them packaged in cello (4 count). I was skeptical because a lot of the pan made around tigard/Portland has a tendency to be hard and dry and many don't make fresh in the morning. And bimbos is not good and it's packaged. But I took a risk...oh man so soft so good. I couldn't wait to share this with my mom. I have bought many since sept. Today I noticed on the package the q-code. At first, the female owner was nice and helpful. I described that I wanted 24 cupcakes in a Harry Potter design (red & gold, blue & bronze, green & silver, yellow & black). She said that she could do a Sunday pick up as long as it was between 10am-12pm to which I agreed would be no problem. She also asked me to text her a picture of the design and let me know it would be $5 extra to do it like the picture. I go to the bakery next day and I am greeted by her husband. He takes my order for 12 Oreo cupcakes & 12 vanilla cupcakes and charges me $10 extra after discussing with his wife. He then asks me that if I would instead be able to pick up Saturday night "but if I was not able to then he would understand and it would not be a problem to pick up on Sunday morning". I agree since he gives me the option and fork out the extra $5 even though this is not what the owner had specified during text despite discussing that I wanted two dozen cupcakes from the beginning. Saturday night comes and the owner calls me with an attitude telling me that they will not be open Sunday because it's her daughter's birthday (which should have been mentioned when we spoke on the phone of her unavailability and should have not made it seem like it was optional at the bakery). Obviously I go, especially since I had already paid for it, and to my surprise the cupcakes look NOTHING like what I ordered. Instead of Harry Potter colors, I get red & black, green & white, and blue & white (they only one on point was yellow & black). She then tells me that she copied the photo and I tell her no she did not. I explain that the colors were supposed to be as described above and she replies that she does not have the colors to make silver and bronze (again something that was not transparent at the initial point of contact). She pulls up the photo and realizes that it is in fact supposed to be red & yellow (gold) and goes to fix the mistake. She ends up coming back with sloppy frosting work and leftover black on the red cupcakes. I also ask her which ones were the Oreo cupcakes to which she assures me that it was the red & yellow/yellow & black batch. I have since tried both batches of cupcakes and guess what... they were all vanilla. As a fellow Latina, I really wanted to support this business but this was just unnecessary drama that I had to go through and ironically pay for. Paid $66 for something I not order and mediocre cupcakes. Moral of the story: 1. Lack of transparency 2. Lack of communication 3. Rude 4. Deception read more

I was having a "backyard BBQ" type wedding (I have never ordered a cake in my life) and asked for a wedding cake top for my groom and I; then sheet cakes for the guests. It was so difficult to choose a flavor because everything was delicious! She made a cake sampler of red velvet with amazing cream cheese filling in between, blueberry filling with chocolate cake, coconut filling and yellow cake (which we decided on), German chocolate (to die for!), raspberry filling with white cake. Turns out, they updated (shortened) their business hours but forgot to do so on the app so store was closed during specified time window (7:45-8pm). I drove there again on their next business day, Monday. An employee told me they don't know how to navigate the app. However, she didn't offer to rectify their mistake. Best she offered is to come back later the same day. I decided driving their 3 times to get one order wasn't worth it. They should have fixed it earlier. As a reference, "Too good to go" app has following expectations: "Of course, our partner stores should always stick to the stated collection time or let you know in advance if they need to change it. All changes regarding collection time or number of Surprise Bags available can be managed by the store directly in their app account." Store failed to update the pick-up time, or to communicate that they are closed, or to cancel the order in advance, or to honor the order when I was there. read more

The wife and I have ordered two custom cakes from Good Cake Bakery so far and they have knocked it out of the park both times! Because some of our guests were diabetic, we asked that the cakes be made with almond flour- Good Cake was more than willing to accommodate. The cakes were very well decorated (photos below), very reasonably priced, and most importantly, delicious.
