I've been coming here my whole life, back to when I was a kid. Add $5 for two drinks. If you throw in a milkshake or a slice of pie, you're suddenly in the same price range as Outback Steakhouse. For us, it just isn't worth $30. $30 and that's the cheaper things on the menu for just two people. I know people will blame the economy, the president, or say "they have bills to pay too". I get all that. But at some point, it stops being inflation and starts feeling like greed. And it's only going to continue until people call it out and choose to eat somewhere else. As for the ambiance, since Yelp asks about it, I'll just say this. In the 30 years I've been coming here, nothing has changed. No upgrades, no updates. It's exactly the same as it's always been. It's clear none of the profits have been put back into the restaurant to improve it. The same drink machine has been filling cokes for probably 40 years, the bathrooms are pretty gross, the parking lot has never been replaced, and they don't take Apple Pay. If you're looking for an alternative, check out Arnold's in the square. The food is better and it's significantly cheaper. It's disappointing, because this place used to mean something to us. But everyone has to draw the line somewhere, and this is where we draw ours.
