First and foremost, this is a place where you go for fast and pleasant food stacked up with all stoner/drinker alike. Yes the shack has some great combinations of food they throw together and it's everything you would dream of inhaling when you're faded with a group of friends. The only issue I have is the flies in the business. While i get the fact that the door is open set up some kind of trap or repellant by the entry so they don't fly back to the kitchen. I've gone in several times and it seems like an endless mess. The staff are all friendly and outgoing but of course you can tell who indulges while their at work and who doesn't. Amazing food. Definitely a hidden gem, any time I am near a Fat shack I will be stopping in. A good variety of fried food, if you want an all around perfect cheese burger this place is the spot. On top of that the wings are hands down the best I've had. Definitely must try wings. The fat shack sandwich was an amazing combo and filling is an understatement for the portion sizes. Absolutely horrific. We placed an order for delivery through Uber. After two hours, our food still hadn't arrived. I called to rectify the situation and was told that the driver couldn't find our apartment and had called several times. This could not have been the case, as my call log doesn't show any inbound calls. The store offered to remake the food for free, but after another 40 minute wait it has yet to arrive. I'm absolutely flabbergasted. UPDATE: Angel promised me at least a discount because we waited so long for our order to come. The charge on my credit card just cleared and nothing was ever discounted. This place serves amazing food and definitely hits the spot during the late night hours. I got food poisoning here, though. I was throwing up for like three days and sick for the rest of the week. I got a refund for my meal and didn't pursue it any further b/c I didnt get the food poisoning until maybe the third or fourth time ordering from here. Maybe it was a one-time deal/rare occurence. I have been in search for the perfect mozzarella sticks that had the perfect balance of quality cheese and seasoned breading that also doesn't cost $10 for 2 or 3 small sticks. One that isn't over the top fancy. One that isn't drowning in grease. Never did I expect to find this perfected snack food at Fat Shack. The other fried deliciousness that I'm a big fan of is the funnel cake bites. Somehow, the way these things are made, they have more of a beignet feel, which is remarkable because that's not easy to achieve for a place that's not Cafe Du Monde in NOLA! Made a pick up order over the phone and paid for my meal with card when I arrived, realized I didn't get my sauce so came back and they tried telling me I didn't get charged and it came through my bank purchases through notifications on my phone, refused to give me my sauce EVEN when I showed that I paid, and when I called to see if something could be fixed whoever answered was completely rude and hung up on me. When you're desperate and it's 2am, sure, you will eat just about anything, and I guess that's what Fat Shack counts on. I ordered delivery in the afternoon and it was pretty rough. Everything, fries, wings, chicken strips and sandwiches were all very soggy. I don't think the wings were even fried, just sort of boiled and dipped in sauce. The cheese, peppers and onions were so tiny that they disappeared into the sandwich. The last straw was the medium length, black hair that was kinda baked on the outside of the philly cheesssteak. To begin with not much is open this late at night and I'm down for some deep-fried junk food occasionally the Saturday night ordered and it was expected to be done at 11:40 PM I shop at 11:40 the cashier says oh yeah we're totally just wrapping that up right now it'll be done in the second I get a text at 11:50 that my order is ready. I get pissed off and so at 11:15 I go up to the cashier again and ask if it's ready and he magically pulls it out from the back room as I've been waiting in the lobby for 30 minutes with a bunch of other pissed off customers they were bringing orders out for DoorDash and DoorDash employees were bypassing the line and walking straight up to the front. Anyways when I got my food cashier was a little prick and said yeah it's a 40 minute wait I ordered it at 10:20 and the app told me it would be ready at 10:40 so maybe they should be adjusting that time as well as not telling the customers it's getting wrapped up while they check in. I have a feeling it was already bagged up but they just forgot about it on the counter. Just lazy and inconsiderate workers. This review is based on tonight's experience. The food has always been good, I'd rather pickup than have it delivered though. Everyone has always been friendly and nice and we usually order on Sunday's. However, tonight was an exception that's completely turned me off :( called to place my order and the guy was rude, short, and acted like I was interrupting something and he had something better to do. I know it's Sunday night football but I knew exactly what I was ordering so it wasn't time consuming at all. When my husband went to pick up the food the staff was again quite rude. I know you guys were busy but how hard is it to be polite to your customers? Don't act like we are annoying you when we are paying repeat customers.
