I just want to give a shout out to DJ. My husband placed an order through DoorDash and asked if they could switch out the turkey for Chicken, as they don't give this option through DoorDash. He was really nice and said it would be no problem. We've had issues with this prior from another lady who works here. She's always rude about it when we've asked, and even went as far as saying that we can make those changes (even though we've tried numerous times to do so). We really appreciate DJ for providing great customer service. We were close to not ordering here anymore because of the other gal, but we're glad to know that someone else answered and was really nice. read more

Firehouse Subs Missing order On November 24th, my wife walked into Firehouse Subs to pick up an order she had placed on the Firehouse website. Our food was not there. We found out that DoorDash had picked it up and delivered it to their customer. We found this out because the customer had called us, rather than rectifying the situation. The manager at Firehouse refused to remake our food or issue a refund. He told her there was nothing he could do and that she should request a refund online. This compounded the incident with poor customer service. We immediately notified Firehouse Subs about the issue. Jessica was quick to respond. However, she also said there was nothing that she could do as the store's POS system processed our payment. We therefore would have to get the refund from the store. Jessica added that she would forward the information to the store's ownership and management. It's been months, with no communication from the store. They took our money and did not provide us with food. That is theft. And to add insult to injury, their customer service was horrendous. We had already taken the matter up with management on site at the time, and do not wish to waste any more of our time. Sixty dollars is not much to us. But to others, it may be a lot. The reason why I am writing this review is the principle of this matter. What they did is wrong. According to feedingamerica.org, 20% of Americans are living with food insecurity. I said that $60 is not significant to me. However, for the 1 in 5 that it is, I am leaving this review. Well, I know I like Jersey Mike's Way better firehouse subs skimp on the meat and their subs were small and mediocre for the price. Jersey Mike's is way better. The store on Grant Street was not very clean at all and the workers seemed overworked. Pay your people more and give them better benefits. read more

People have recommended Firehouse for awhile, so decided to pick up a sub. As others have mentioned, service isn't great, welcoming, or otherwise engaging upon getting into the store. I waited close to 5 minutes at the register (by myself) for someone to take my order (not happily either). Got the sub home and it was barely toasted/warm and soggy....and then...it was somehow sweet? I thought I was crazy until I looked at the nutrition facts and saw 36 grams of sugar (that's 3 tablespoons!) in a medium. Count me out. Thankfully I was curious and in the sad little shop to grab hot sauce from their sauce bar, which was the highlight. Won't be back and will not ever recommend. There are so many better sandwich shops in the Denver metro. read more

I really appreciate Firehouse subs commitment to raising funds for first responders. The service and the food was really, really good. The bread was fresh and soft, the meat was high quality, and I was impressed with the barbeque sauce on my brisket and cheddar sandwich. It was sweet and flavorful. I wished it had some veggies on it, but it was really delicious. However, the pricing is crazy high. An 8 inch sub with chips and a drink for $10 plus tax is crazy to me. Other shops I can split a foot long with my husband for less than that. They are absolutely better than the other shops, but the prices give me pause for sure. read more

Placed an order through the app with a stated pickup time of 4:45pm. Arrived at the restaurant at 4:50 figuring a 5 minute cushion would be plenty, and it was not ready. The employee said "give us 7 minutes." I told her that it was already supposed to be ready 5 minutes ago, to which she replied "I just walked in the door and put my apron on." What kind of response is that?? No apology at all. And there were 3 other employees who apparently couldn't complete one order? It was not busy, and the employees seemed to have time to gossip instead of work. My order was not ready until 4:58, thirteen minutes after it was supposed to be. This delay made us late for an event. I would have just cancelled the order but quite frankly didn't think the employees had the wherewithal to do that. When my order was ready, there was STILL NO APOLOGY AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY. And the sandwiches were clearly thrown together sloppily and not cut evenly. The staff at this location are very rude and, based on previous reviews here, this seems to be a consistent issue that management does not care to rectify. I was ignored most of the time and You can just tell it was a toxic environment and things were tense with employees. Just returned from this store where I picked up the sandwich that was left out of the bag on an Uber delivery. The order was for two sandwiches. They forgot to put HALF of the order in the bag. And had the nerve to hang up on me and be full of sass and zero reasonable solution. Never apologized. So, I arrived at the store and there are no other patrons. There were three people behind the counter watching a cartoon. Meanwhile the floor hasn't been swept in a WHILE and the trash is full and there are at least four tables that needed cleaning. I went there and the customer service was poor for being staffed with so many people. In addition this location does not offer a military discount even though I found several nearby locations that would. I can understand their point..... military only have to fight trained combatants.... i.e. killers. Why first responders are killing innocent unarmed people and giving us movements like "black lives matter" and LA Riots. I shopped here once and will not be back. Good food, horrible service. My daughter & I ordered sandwiches, waited, then was handed a bag and walked out. Got home and realized were given the wrong order- called and spoke with the "manager" who was rude, argumentative and unhelpful. She said "YOU grabbed the wrong order!" and only offered to remake our sandwiches if I came back in. We love firehouse subs- what they stand for and the good food. After living in Jacksonville, FL (Firehouse Subs birthplace!) for over 2 years, I came to LOOOOOVE and adore these subs. From the moment I walked in and was greeted with "Welcome to Firehouse!", I knew this place is a keeper. The fire decour, paintings and even little fire hats make this shop feel like you are amongst real firefighters in their kitchen! I just had their "Italian" or #4 on wheat bread, fully involved...aka loaded with goodness, and my absolute favorite. Loaded with 3 different kinds of meat, slices of yummy cheese with a pickle on the side,the italian makes my heart melt, literally :) Their selection of cold sandwiches are delicious too ( club on a sub!) Whether I get the regular or large subs, I can usually eat every last bite and with pleasure! *Don't forget to try their signature hot sauce from Captain Sorensen's own creation! Waaay over rated. I have been delivering for this place through uber eats on a few occasions so I thought I should give it a try. Not enough meat and low quality lettuce. My sandwich came with two different meats and I couldn't tell the difference at all and there was like three sad slices on it. All sauces I tried including the number 9s were not that tasty or spicy. For the price you pay, and the name, this thing should be loaded! Too many people on the line talking to each other and not making quality sandwiches. I dont really go to firehouse subs. But this location has GREAT customer service!!! The store was clean & well maintained. On the down side i did find a hair in my sandwich. Called the store told them what i found & they handled it very well! I would just recommend hair nets or hair up if employe has long hair. Other than that it was a great visit! Just went here today and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a nice little sub shop with a good choice of different types of hot and cold subs. I got the engine something or other for myself (turkey, roast beef + the works) and the club for my sig other. They gave me some little containers to bring home samples of their signature hot sauce which was explained to me as a "sweet sauce with mild heat." Their house sauce was very good and the description was dead on. The guys behind the counter were very helpful to this Firehouse noobie and since I didn't get to try the sub right out of the oven, I'll have to go back ;) If I were to compare this to subway, I would say it's a higher end version. We got the wheat and white bread and both were delicious (and not flat tasting like subway) Oh and like the previous poster, I gotta get my hot-sauce on. I would eat at Firehouse Subs regularly when I lived in Florida, so I was pumped to find one in Colorado! It took me a few minutes to recall what I used to order, but then it hit me---the NY Steamer---which is their version of corned beef and pastrami. The sandwich was very tasty, even before I kicked it up a notch with some Iguana XXX! The bread is served warm and fresh and the corned beef and pastrami melts in your mouth. The only reason I would rate this location as a 3-star instead of 4 is that the restaurant wasn't very clean. I went during a down-time between lunch and dinner, so there weren't many customers at the time. Even so, many of the tables hadn't been wiped down, straw wrappers littered the fountain drink area, etc... Having said that, I still hope to return next time I'm in the Denver area! read more

Great hot sauce variety. The 357 made me tear up a bit but tasty! I had the Hawaiian pork sammy which was just great! Tender, dripping and good balance of meat to slaw. Large sandwich that really hit the spot! We so had an Italian that was not my favorite but pretty good. Good chip selection and I'm loving those new drink machines with 100+ options. These subs are pretty gnarly. Apparently this chain has over 300 stores, which I was completely oblivious to. They certainly weren't any in the parts of Michigan where I previously resided. Anyway, the sandwiches. The sandwich I got was the cheesesteak type one and it was pretty delicious. The only cheesesteak I've had that tops it is at Dibella's in Ann Arbor MI (I haven't made it to philly yet, I know I'm a cheesesteak blasphemer). The meat was cooked delightfully and the bread was damn near perfect. It's a delicate balance between meat, veg, and cheese, and they came pretty close to perfection on that intricate balance as well. They do the very amusing "welcome to (insert restaurant name here)!" shout every time someone walks in, which having 3 brothers who work for jimmy john's, I know can be either annoying for employees or a point of pride and humor. They seemed to enjoy shouting welcome here. This place had a friendly atmosphere and the employees were all very pleasant. This is my favorite sub place that I have ever tried, it might not be saying much because I generally hate sub places. I would come here every night if I could. I get the brisket sandwich and it is phenomenal! They use quality products and it shows, you can taste the difference. The workers are nice, the place is clean. They have a ton of sauces for you to use, ranging in heats from mild to scald-your-mouth make-you-want-to-die hot. I would recommend Firehouse Subs to anyone! I wish I had tried it sooner. read more

Firehouse is the house of 'Ya Gottas.' Ya gotta love the sound of the ENTIRE staff yelling "Welcome to Firehouse!" when you walk in, every time, whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth. Ya gotta get a fireman's hat - easy to get if you've got a minion with you. Be prepared to get funny looks if you don't. Ya gotta know that 'fully involved' means loaded to the max: mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion. It's okay to ask to skip some topping or double up on others! Ya gotta try The Steamer, but if that's not your thing, trust me, a turkey sub is just as good! Or, take my son's advice and try the juicy, cheesy meatball sub loaded with provolone cheese and a couple shakes of oregano. Ya gotta stop in Sunday afternoons when the TVs are all set to NFL. As subs go, these guys make some really good stuff. They heat the subs, something I am not a fan of, so i order mine with toasted bread and cold meat. Love the turkey with swiss and bacon. Best part: They have an amazing selection of hot sauces. read more

My husband and I eat here at least a couple of times a week. We love Firehouse Subs and we like how consistent they are with service and food. However, I cannot trust the staff to make my take out order how I ordered it, so I always have to go in and make the order. It is nothing major, just a bit inconvenient and annoying at times. Nice and hot sandwiches, what more could you ask for?! They're delicious with a good variety. Plus they have one of those new Coke fountain machines with 120+ flavors (though stay away from Raspberry Coke & Vanilla Sprite). Anyhow, they got a good selection of hot sauces to help add some heat to your sandwich if that's your thing.
