Not only did this place get me out of a bind, but they did great work and gave a fair price (which, in my experience, is very rare when one is an out-of-towner). Since then, I have recommended him to all of my fellow vacationers at my club in Essex County. HOWEVER: I returned today with brake issues and had a completely different experience, much more like what you would expect when you are up the creek without a paddle (i.e., when they don't see you as a prospect for future business). I guess all the friends I referred failed to drop my name! In any event, I am rescinding my recommendation after taking this bath. Hopefully, my previous super-positive review successfully deleted. My advice: don't drive past other mechanics to reach Viele's if you are in a bind. Expect that the price will suck, take your lumps, and move on. Be safe. No more reasonable prices for out-of-towners here. (Work was still sufficient on this hard-to-botch brake job, hence, I'll refrain from giving the lowest possible rating despite experiencing the lowest possible satisfaction.)

I'd trust them with any repairs I needed to any vehicle I have ever owned. Number One: THE SHOP IS CLEAN! You can all but eat off the garage floors. I can see that the bays and tools are organized and handy from looking in from outside, and that's a key signature of professional mechanics and management. The office and waiting area are clean as a whistle too; and everyone is very polite and friendly in addition to being knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are VERY fair, and they'll quote you up front for any work to be done. For maintenance, repairs, and towing I rely on Viele's as my go to and recommend them every chance I get.

And they will run you through if the center doesn't get cleaned. The undercarriage wash tends to leave a lot of sand behind. Maybe more pressure or maybe more nozzles to spray the unbidding title now. But either way, don't let that deter you.I will travel 30 miles just to use this car wash. As I am in Middlebury, Vermont. I made an appointment and then waited in their comfortable waiting room while they swapped the tires, wrapped the old ones in protective material, and loaded them into the back of my car. Engine blew up despite having ample oil and coolant. I look my cars, I check fluids. This things just grenaded like many of the engines of this model year do. I called the Service manager and they offered us absolutely no help at all. Now looking at a $3500 bill on a car we still owe almost $20k. Things go wrong, especially on Subaru.
