When you arrive on the farm, you'll park in a field and even as you walk up to buy tickets, there are people in costumes scaring you. It starts right away. Once you buy tickets, you'll join the line to enter. This may possibly be the most entertaining line you'll wait in. Be sure to use the porta potty before getting in line, because you'll probably be waiting for a bit. During the line, there are many spooky scary sounds playing, as well as screams for the guests going through the haunted farm. There are also staff in costumes there making it scary. The Haunted Farm is three parts (or it was when I went in the past). First is the haunted forest, then the haunted house, and then a hayride. My first visit to the haunted forest scared the crap out of me. There was a part with a werewolf figure in a strobe light that gave me a good scare for sure. There really is nothing like the adrenaline rush of being horrified (especially when deep down you actually know that you're totally safe). After walking yourself through the haunted forest, you enter the house. There is some serious TLC put into making this really, really cool. Each room has a different theme and story. One of the scariest for me was the demented dentist, geesh! The rooms range from the butcher shop to the neon clowns. As my friends and I walked through the house, we held hands creating a chain to keep each other safe, haha! The last part of the experience is the hayride which is the least scary to me but there are parts when creepy people come out of the field, jump on the hayride and get within inches of your face. So yeah, that's also scary. I feel like I just used the word 'scary' 50 times. I need to come up with some better words (it's 6am, give me a break) but my point is that this Haunted Farm is really freakin' cool and such a fun way to spend an October fall evening.

Dollywood is a beautiful, clean park with great rides, friendly staff, and plenty of delicious,…read morereasonably priced food. While many compare it to Disney World, I don't think the overall experience is on the same level, even though Dollywood may actually have more rides. The biggest area needing improvement is parking. It took us nearly an hour to get into the park because traffic was backed up and all cars were directed into the Splash Country parking . We had to exit, re-enter, and ask an employee to open the cones so we could get into the correct entrance. Having separate, open (not closed with cones) clearly marked lanes for Dollywood and Splash Country would make the process much smoother. Simple fix . I also recommend upgrading to Preferred Parking. The standard parking tram lines were very long, while Preferred Parking lets you park much closer and walk straight to the entrance. Another improvement would be adding digital wait time signs at each ride. None of the rides indicated that so you could be in line anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours ! Having to open the app each ride and scroll through a massive list to see wait times in the heat isn't very convenient. Wait times on the app are also not available remotely as with Disney so you could properly decide the right time to go , can only can be seen when you are in the park. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and may return.

Be prepared to do a lot of walking, as the park is divided into several themed sections, each with about four or five rides. Parking costs $25, so it's something to include in your budget before you arrive. One thing to know before you go is that if you want unlimited fountain drink refills, you'll need to purchase a refillable cup. The cup costs around $30, and you must scan it each time you refill your drink. One of the highlights of our visit was exploring Dolly Parton's museums. They were beautiful, informative, and gave us a deeper appreciation for Dolly's life, career, and accomplishments. I left the park a new fan! We spent about six hours at Dollywood and still didn't have enough time to see everything. There's so much to explore that you could easily spend an entire day or even two there. We didn't have a full meal while we were at the park, but we enjoyed several snacks, including churro fries, a pretzel, and nachos, which were all tasty. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend Dollywood to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly destination. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes, budget for parking and drink refills if you plan to purchase them, and allow plenty of time to experience everything the park has to offer!
