Fatback's, we cook our barbecue My son and I have been on a Dayton Area BBQ search, and we have dined at more than several Greater Dayton Metropolitan BBQ's with pleasure. We have chosen Not to rank order, and our number one favorite is Zinks Meats & Fine Wines in Centerville Ohio; Like the small intimate dining area, the entertainment, the clients and the BBQ. Today is time to explore and sample Fatback's BBQ. "...we cook our barbecue low and slow on fresh-seasoned hickory wood to bring out the natural flavors of our cuts of meat." Fatback's BBQ is not to be confused with fine dining.... Best to expect only basic ambience with a few tables and lots and lots of takeaway. Service is excellent. Reviews vary; "Excellent food, friendly, fast service. Potatoes were awesome!" "All they do throw some on grill cook it as fast can then slather in sauce the way Kroger does I was foolish to listen to idiot who knew was a idiot...." Caveat: always read reviews and check photos for ambience. Fatback's BBQ offers an "interesting" picnic ambience; not for my dear wife. We both ordered ribs in a ton of BBQ sauce. Very meaty, messy, and tasty. Lots and lots of BBQ pictures. This is great BBQ for Greater Dayton Metropolitan BBQ's and somewhat pricey. Rates number 2 in our book.

Stopped in for date night dinner. I had a sliced brisket sandwich with mac and cheese and their roasted potatoes. My boyfriend had pulled pork with roasted potatoes. The real star was their warm and sweet sauce. A beautiful balance of sweetness, vinegar, and heat. They were so friendly!! You can tell they are proud of their product too. We got there 15 min before they were closing and were kind enough to let us dine in. Very clean dining room and kitchen. Lots of space to dine on the patio in front and another in back. Will definitely return!

The food was great. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and green beans as my sides. The service was so good I called the restaurant after I left to thank them for the recommendation. I ordered the food to go and started to eat in the parking lot. It was so good I could barely get out of the parking lot. I will be back soon.

To start off the half ribs cost $4 more than on the menu so the meal was about 23$ and I would say it was worth a solid $10 I won't be back

The noodles are actually made in-house and have a lovely texture. I got the Classic Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup and was definitely not disappointed. The broth is light, but full of flavor at the same time. It is truly very comforting on a cold winter night. I think the beef slices on there are a bit tough, but it's not too big of an issue. The portion sizes are actually crazy. I got the regular size and could finish maybe just half to 2/3 of the noodles, along with a majority of the beef. I can't imagine how massive the large bowl would be... For health, I also ordered some stir-fried bok choy. This was stir fried well, but I'm not really sure what the flavor profile was supposed to be. Is it garlic? Is it spicy? I couldn't really place it. The prices are very fair for the quality of food they provide, and service throughout the night was decent. I will probably be back again, if I visit Dayton! Unfortunately, a recent experience has convinced me that I will not be returning. I placed an order and requested "no meat, more vegetables." I was told that the kitchen was unwilling to provide extra vegetables unless I paid an additional charge. What disappointed me most was not the charge itself, but the attitude behind it. It felt as though reasonable customer requests were viewed as an inconvenience rather than something to accommodate. This is also not the first time I have heard kitchen staff complaining about customer requests. In the past, I have overheard complaints about customers asking for less salt or making other simple modifications to their meals. As a long-time customer, it is extremely disappointing to hear staff openly express frustration toward paying customers for such basic requests. The attitude was unprofessional and unfriendly. After repeatedly hearing complaints from the kitchen about customer orders, it becomes difficult to feel confident about how special requests are handled behind the scenes. I have supported this restaurant for a long time, but this experience has left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I hope management takes customer service more seriously and addresses these issues.

Although the parking lot was full the line was amazingly quick. I wasn't sure what to get for the family packs, I just told the guys in back to make it awesome. They got us pulled pork, pulled chicken, beef brisket; we also got two sides of mac & cheese, two sides of scalloped potatoes, one side of applesauce, and one side of potato salad. It's really nice that they had some tables that could seat us all. It's a fun little down-home environment. My wife says: The beef brisket, pulled chicken, and potato salad are delicious. I found the scalloped potatoes a little bit salty. My oldest daughter says: all the meats were amazing. I really enjoyed the scalloped potatoes. The cornbread was delicious. My second oldest daughter says: she gives two thumbs up and smiles. She says she doesn't know what to say. Yay awkward teenage years. My second youngest daughter says: cornbread. I love the cornbread. I like the turnips. I like the chicken. That is all. My youngest daughter says: this mac & cheese is delicious. It is said in the enthusiasm that only a six-year-old can give. She points to the pulled pork and says she liked that too. Our family friend who is here says: umm. I don't know. They should've had plates. They gave us the food on these trays, but they didn't provide dishes. The food was good. The ambience was classy. So bottom line is it's a good place to bring Family, they can all eat their fill, and it's well roasted yummy meat.

IT was very off-putting and dangerous. Grossed me out and I doubt I'll be back. It was kind of dangerous because they were pretty big pokey pieces of plastic that could have definitely got lodged in your neck or punctured something. I actually started to call them but then I thought you know they're just probably gonna apologize or offer me free food and am I ever gonna eat there again?? I think it's unlikely. I hope it was an accident not someone intentionally doing this.
