I've never had a bad experience here. Their arcade is awesome! I have come here countless times with my family and played the arcade for hours. Their food and popcorn is also really great. The staff is poorly trained and unhelpful - one cashier could barely make change. The card reader machine was acting up. The "adult" who seemed to be in charge was indifferent to multiple requests for assistance. One card had $10 mysteriously disappear. Fats Cats in Rexburg, ID has great facilities, but poor service. I have spent many weekends watching movies, bowing, or playing mini golf there, but most times I leave feeling dissatisfied with their customer service. Most occasions they left me, the customer, feeling as if I were an inconvenience to them. Once I took my wife to a sold out movie and about twenty minutes in, an associate stopped the movie, turned on the lights and started asking patrons for their tickets to make sure they were in their assigned seats. I found that to be rather ridiculous. I don't pay to go to a movie just to have the experienced ruined by someone stopping it midway just to check tickets that they could have checked previously if they had been doing their jobs right in the first place. The reason for why I am finally writing this review is because I called Fat Cats just a moment ago to ask about bowling rates as the website doesn't currently list them correctly. After asking the young woman about the rates, she rambled them back rather quickly, so I asked her to repeat the fees. She repeated them with a rather annoyed tone in her voice as if I were some major inconvenience to her at the moment. Overall, I'm just tired of them hiring immature staff members that lack basic courtesy skills. Please train your employees to treat paying customers well. read more

Why do they leave the lights on during previews and start the movie late every single time? It's dirty and the employees are always on their phones and are incompetent around the equipment. I'll give two stars because the catering people are nice and do a good job. For movies anywhere else is a better bet. read more

Almost every arcade game stole our tokens. This must be very frustrating to the employees, which may explain why they scattered every time someone approached the counter- to avoid helping anyone. Bowling was fun, but the pinsetter kept breaking and we had to wait for it to be reset. This trip was more frustrating than fun. read more

My wife and I came here for a date tonight and we're incredibly disappointed. We saw at least 11 employees, and the only two that were actually working were in the kitchen...and it was crazy busy. The manager, at least I assumed it was him, was chatting up the female employees and playing with a yoyo. Plus, the tables were disgusting and nobody seemed to be making any effort to clean or keep the bowling equipment in check. If it is always like this, I do NOT recommend coming here. read more

I like going to see movies here but there's one big issue I have that I think is seriously ridiculous!! I've just wanted a foutian drink cup with ice and water in it but yet they have to seem to charge me full price of a drink for it. Totally stupid since when the Hell do you get off charging someone $4.00 for just a cup of water?! There bottles of water ain't too much better. But I go with those because for one I need water cause I can't drink pop. So I feel obligated to have to get the bottled water instead. Price gouged for something that should only cost me at most .50 for the cup to get water. I've worked in the food and beverage industry for a number of years I know that large drink cups don't cost very much from your distributor. The cups are like .15-.20 per cup. So you can't tell me the ice costs $3.00 to make or get cause it's an ice machine it makes it's own ice. So I just don't get why you guys have to charge so stinking much just for water. Other restaurants around only charge for the cup they don't charge full price for a cup of water! Get it figured out! read more

Not a good bowling experience. Our lane malfunctioned MANY times during our games; the lanes and shoes were sticky when they should have been smooth and able to glide. Not a big assortment of balls and our score display was unreadable because of bad electronics in the screens. read more

I really like to give places like this several chances to redeem themselves, but after FOUR negative experiences in a row, I think it's time to sound off. The first time we went here, we saw a matinee and were the only ones in the theater. The sound was OUTRAGEOUSLY loud (and this is coming from someone that loves going to rock concerts). It was absolutely painful to sit there with the volume so high. I asked them to turn it down and they said they were unable to adjust volume. What a joke. The second time I went, I saw The Dark Knight Rises, and the movie was supposed to start at 4:00 pm. At 4:15, the movie hadn't even started. Finally, someone asked them to start it, then 15 minutes later, another employee came into the theater to tell us that we would need to move to another theater to watch the movie. The third time we went, we just went bowling with some friends and got an hour of bowling. We were just about to finish our first game when the hour ended and they refused to give even 5 minutes to finish it. The fourth time (and this will most certainly be our last time), we went to see Star Trek Into Darkness in 3D. We knew something was wrong when the trailers were so dark that you couldn't even make out the red in Superman's cape or the blue in the sky. I complained and they said they would fix it. Once the movie started, it was obvious that nothing had been done to fix the problem. It was so dark that we couldn't even make out the images on the screen, so we left. On top of those experiences, we have encountered rude employees, complete disorganization, and an overall disregard for their customers. I will gladly visit the Paramount theater instead or go to Idaho Falls for movies. Never again will I give my hard earned money to this joke of an establishment. read more

Great place for some entertainment. The movie tickets are decent, the theaters are good and the food prices are really good compared to other places. They don't play R rated movies which means you have to drive all the way to idaho falls which is kind of s pain sometimes. The bowling is fun and at a really good price. Same as billiards. But the mini golf sucks! It's boring and not very challenging and also short. Don't waste money on the mini golf. But everything else is great. read more

I came to fat cats to see Beauty & The Beast, a movie I had been very excited about seeing. To begin the night, we went to go pay for our tickets and they asked us to see our student ID's in order to get the student price, we however had not brought them because never before have we been asked this. We tried to explain that we were students, but they weren't having it, nor were they very nice about it. So we paid our full price and went on our way. Towards the end of the movie, about 15 min till the ending, the screen went completely blank. Long story short we waited in the dark theatre for 30 min before anyone came in to inform us what was going on, without any apology, or even act of concern. They informed us that it should be back on soon. We waited about 15 more min, and then decided we would just go get a refund. We went out to the front desk and waited in line for a refund and watched other people get their full $10 back. They then told us the movie would finish up in another theatre so we went back to go finish the movie & then we would come out for a refund because we waited an hour for gosh sakes. We came out to be greeted with a 5$ gift card from the "manager". First off, I understand the technical difficulties was not the employees fault, but the way the people working there handled it was completely unprofessional and rude. They didn't give any apologies, and gave me a 5$ gift card (not even my 10$ that I had paid originally) so that I could go spend more money at their place, which quite frankly I don't have any desire to go back to. The manager working their looked like she was about 12 years old, and had no experience whatsoever in this kind of situation. She did not talk to anyone or handle anything. I understand technical difficulties happen, and I would've been fine with it, if I would have been treated better for my inconvenience. read more

Every time we go to Fat Cats we are completely disappointed. One of our first experiences was when I got a free movie and pizza voucher from Madison Women's Clinic when I was pregnant. We went to see a movie and wanted to see a 3D version and use our voucher. It didn't state on the voucher that 3D movies weren't included nor did it say that they would be extra. We went on a weekend. The person at the ticket counter was making us pay for the upgrade, so we asked to speak with a manager. They don't have managers on weekends. Really? A high traffic place like that doesn't have managers on the weekends? That's crazy. Anyway, they made us pay for the upgrade anyway and would not budge or help us out. It was really upsetting when we were planning on having a nice date before the baby came and were expecting to not have to pay anything. We ended up contacting their corporate office AND owners about our experience. Thankfully those guys are nice, and compensated us for it. When we went into the Rexburg location to pick up our compensation, the staff was not necessarily nice about letting me talk to the manager (Art Morales) even though I was told to let them know to ask for him. The service is horrid and the people are just not nice (unless you've contacted the owner, then they walk on eggshells and give you everything you want ha) They have assinged seating, so you get to pick your seats when you buy your tickets. I'm not sure why they do this because they don't enforce that at all. Our picked seats were taken when we got in there and the people wouldn't move. We didn't bother the employees about it because we were already upset with them. Their pizza is the nastiest pizza in the world, methinks, and is for sure the grossest in Rexburg. The one time we got pizza there we stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes before someone even noticed us or acknowledged our presence. Then it took forever to actually get the pizza. The only reason we have gone there after our bad experiences and will in the future is because we have a gift card or a free bowling coupon. We won't go for a movie or the arcade or pizza or mini golf (which is kinda lame) or the balladium thing. We will ONLY go for bowling - again that's if we have a gift card or coupon. Basically if you have money or gift card to get one game of bowling you can bowl for the rest of the night free if you work it right. On every one of their receipts they have a "do this survey get a free game" option. We all pay for our games individually and each get a receipt and each do the survey and turn that receipt in for a new game. They've never turned us away for that so I guess that's a positive. Paramount 5 will always be our choice for movies, Teton Lanes - despite how old it is - for bowling, The Craze for arcade and so many other options for pizza. read more

Never been until family came to visit and wanted to see a move. The 3D was terrible (glasses are reused and were falling apart). Tickets have assigned seating. There was my family and one other family. We asked upfront if we could move to different seats and were told no. We tried to get a couple of different glasses because the ones they gave us had cracks in the lenses and all of them were quite filthy with dust, sticky stuff, and who knows what all on em. Considering my family was here to visit for a holiday and were trying to enjoy themselves this theaters lack of courtesy and customer service I'll pass going here and head out to the drive in or I.F. I'll not be returning to watch a movie any time soon. read more

I went to see Beauty and the Beast tonight at FatCats. After refusing to give us our student discount because my friend and I didn't have our student ID's (we have never been asked to show our ID's previously so we didn't bring them) we finally made it to the theatre. Towards the last 20 minutes of the movie, (11:13 pm) the screen went blank. After sitting for 30 minutes IN THE DARK with no explanation, someone finally came in and explained that the projector was broken and they were trying to fix it. No apologies, no refund offers, just a quick heads up of why we had been sitting there for 30 minutes. After waiting again for 10 minutes, we left the theatre to see if we could get a refund. After waiting in line for a couple minutes and watching others get a full refund, we were informed that the movie had started again in another theatre (by this time it was 11:55 pm). After finally finishing the movie 3 hours after it had started, we exited the theatre only to be greeted by a $5 off coupon from the manager, and a refusal to refund us. Fat Cats isn't the cheapest place to bowl or see a movie, we payed $10 tonight, so $5 won't get you anywhere unless you spend more money at their business, which I am not willing to do. You could tell that the employees were just as sick of being there for that long as we were, and were trying to hurry people out the door instead of taking the time to address the issue. I don't blame the employees for the technical difficulties, but they could have handled the situation much better. Instead they gave us terrible customer service, and handled the issue completely unprofessionally. Will not be back. read more
