Dr. Fattie literally transformed my body. I was suffering from horrible (at times debilitating) sciatica and had tried everything under the sun to alleviate my pain. I had never tried chiropractic care, in fact it wasn't even something that crossed my mind to entertain. A friend of mine highly recommended Dr. Fattie after she helped her cure her stiff neck. I first spoke with her on the phone so she could understand what was ailing me and she asked tons of questions to get a better idea of how she could help me. I was able to be seen in a timely fashion, and she offered late appointments Monday and Wednesday which is super helpful to me with my work schedule. My first visit she did a thorough exam including some scans. She also recommended I get an X-ray (off site) so she could see some additional images of what she was working with. She came up with a thorough treatment plan spanning over 24 visits and I can honestly stay after just the first few I noticed a complete transformation- I was standing comfortably for long periods of time with no pain, even running on the treadmill with no issues which was just astounding. Dr. Fattie is knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate. She takes the time to get to know you. She also offers fair payment plans which was super helpful for me. I am SO thankful I found Dr. Fatimah. I was skeptical of going to a chiropractor, because I knew nothing about chiropractic and was nervous to give it a try after being in pain for years. In 2009, I started experiencing terrible chest pains at the age of 25. My doctor sent me to a cardiologist and other specialists, where no one could seem to determine the cause of my crushing chest pain. I had x rays, echocardiograms and a CT scan of my torso. They diagnosed me with costochondritis and told me I had a narrow rib cage, that the pain was something I would have to live with and I was prescribed pain meds. For 9 years, I lived with the pain and took pain meds that irritated my stomach lining. Exercise was nearly impossible and I constantly had to be careful when doing anything physical. I tried yoga, pilates, stretches, acupuncture and even years of not exercising, hoping that the inflammation of the chest joints would heal. In 2018, I googled 'costochondritis San Diego' after a particularly painful episode and came across a Yelp review for Dr Fatimah in Del Mar. I figured I would give it a shot as a last resort and I went in for a consultation. I was afraid when Dr Fatimah tried to touch my chest and flinched at the pain. She was so gentle and sweet, and told me I had a terrible case of costochondritis due to a misalignment in my back, that likely began when I was in my 20s. I trusted her that she would help me and started coming in for weekly sessions. Well, it has been over a year of weekly and then bi-weekly adjustments on my back and chest with Dr Fatimah. I am now 35 years old, exercise every day and am six months pregnant with my first baby. There was a time that I was afraid of how painful my chest and back would be if I ever got pregnant. Thanks to Dr Fatimah, I feel wonderful and never even take Tylenol. My family and husband cannot believe the difference in how my chest pain improved after watching me live with it for 9 years.
