So very yummy!! Hearty and noodles are al dente. They also do $15 lunch specials which is insane. Situated in a cute market where people can do work and enjoy a meal. Service was quick and easy. There's parking at the market.

We ordered the Panini Porchetta on ciabatta. First of all the bread was not ciabatta. It was more like a sourdough texture and was very dry. The pork belly was extremely chewy and very oily. Half way through eating, we found a very hard piece of mayo inside the sandwich (see photo). Everything about this sandwich was just not good and not an enjoyable experience. This was not worth $20.

Lunch special- $15 bucks for this bounty

I love visiting Prescott Market. The vibe is so good, and I don't think I've ever seen a grumpy person there. It's a little pocket of West Oakland where everyone seems to be having a good day. I've been salivating over Fatto A Mano's fresh pasta display for months, so today I finally tried it. I went with the lunch special, which comes with a pasta of your choice of shape and sauce, a salad, and a couple of focaccia breadsticks. At a very reasonable price of $15. The salad was simple but fresh: spring mix, goat cheese, and balsamic. The focaccia wasn't particularly noteworthy on its own, but it turned out to be an excellent tool for scooping up every last bit of sauce, which is arguably its most important job. And then there was the pasta. I got the paccheri Bolognese and, boy, was it a stunner. Those silky loops of paccheri are the perfect match for a hearty Bolognese. Each bite had that toothsome pasta texture alongside the rich, savory sauce. It was a symphony of flavor and texture- if we're going to get dramatic about it. I could not get enough of that pasta. In fact, I was already mourning the loss of that particular bite when I remembered they sell their fresh pasta to go. So naturally, I purchased some. Problem solved. Kind staff, great prices, excellent fresh pasta, and a location where apparently nobody is allowed to have the grumps. I'll be a happy customer for a long time to come.

Spaghetti and fusilli with meat sauce, along with a salad and bread

It's a cute spot for a casual Italian meal. The space has a nice industrial, market style atmosphere, and the pasta came out looking fresh and hearty. We tried the spaghetti and fusilli with meat sauce, along with the salad and bread. The portions were small, the pasta had good flavor, although I felt the overall dishes were a little oilier than I prefer. The salad and bread were nice additions, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. It's a convenient option if you're already at Prescott Market and craving pasta, but I'm not sure it would be a destination restaurant for me.

Finally got a chance to check out this location at Prescott. Every time (before) we would be there a little too early to try. So we delayed our visit so we could catch them before the Ballers game. Ended up getting one of my favorite pasta dishes the cheese tortellini bolognese. This was fire! A decent size service with fresh grated cheese and meat sauce. Very much enjoyed and would get this dish again. Highly recommended.

porchetta sandwich on focaccia: pork belly, arugula + caramelized onions = $19

Fatto A Mano sits in a lonely corner in Prescott Market, but don't be fooled. The porchetta ($19) on focaccia bread is one insane sandwich. The sandwich is slathered with mayo and is generously stuffed with pork belly, arugula, and caramelized onions. The pork belly is a little more lean than fatty - which I personally prefer. It's tender and flavorful. I also love the caramelized onions which adds a subtle sweetness. If you like a porchetta sandwich, this one is a good one. It's hearty and substantial enough to be eaten for dinner. Fatto A Mano also offers an array of equally delicious sounding sandwiches. And pastas! Make this your Italian corner.

I love that Prescott Market continues to bring new eateries into the fold like Fatto A Mano, a new-ish Italian pasta spot. They also offer soup, salads, paninis, and a fun array of Italian desserts (and cookies). What's fun about their pasta choices is the fact that you can choose what type of pasta style/shape and sauce. They also have kiddo sizes too. We went with the gnocchi and butter/cheese as the sauce (kid's portion) which also comes with bread. It's restaurant week in Oakland until 3/22 and they have a brunch/lunch special ($15) for any bowl of pasta/sauce/side salad/homemade focaccia. Prescott has a few other eateries apart of restaurant week too! Love that they're in the mix. The kid's portion is still a healthy size (see pic). I'm excited to come back and bring some Italian cookies to my parents, while enjoying a nice bowl of comforting pasta. Bucatini with bolognese is calling my name ($22). Fatto A Mano is located in the corner next to Fast Times (the smash burger spot). They have some Italian market goods too which is a nice touch. I noticed they also do catering and sell gift cards. Seems like there is a bit more to come from them. Parking can be found for Prescott in the adjacent lot and nearby street parking. Interior/exterior seating available.

This is a lovely italian eatery at the Prescott Market, selling soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta, and tasty dishes like lasagna. Ordered dinner here this past Friday evening. Service was standard, and the wait time was reasonable, about ten minutes. I got the salame piccante panini on focaccia, minus the rhubarb. The sandwich was a good size and generously stacked with fresh and delicious ingredients. Particularly, the pecorino cheese with a sharp flavor and the peppery salame stood out. However, with a lack of sauce or condiments in the panini, it was very dry... like "knock-off-2-stars" dry. Luckily, I grabbed some herb ranch from another eatery in the food hall, which allowed for a more enjoyable meal. Seating was plentiful as well. And street parking wasn't too difficult to find a couple blocks away.

Stopped in for Italian lunch today and we both ordered the lasagna. Absolutely the best restaurant lasagna ever! The bolognese sauce was perfectly blended and the pasta was fresh. Just try it. This is a counter restaurant inside the Prescott Market.

    Cheese tortellini with 4 Formaggi

Just sat down to dinner at Fatto A Mano and was blown away. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection. Every bite melted in my mouth. The location at the Prescott market is super convenient and has a great community feeling. The corner booth seating was romantic. The service was wonderful as well. I can't wait to try more items from their menu. We had the gnocchi with FdM sauce and tortellini with 4 formaggi. We will definitely be coming back! P.s. the desserts look really good and I will definitely be taking some home.

My half eaten Bolognese, too good, forgot to take a photo.

We arrived for our outdoor reservation, which is situated on the sidewalk. There was a nice heat lamp set up but the traffic on the road was quite loud. The service members were really delightful. We informed them that we had to jump online to sign up for kids aftercare classes at 8pm to make sure they didn't think we were being pretentious d-bags at that time, which they all understood and encouraged us on. The menu is short and concise with three courses, each with a couple options. The wine list was very extensive and offered a ton of choices. We both decided to start with the Gazpacho and I ordered the Sugo pasta while my wife ordered the risotto. To finish I ordered the chocolate tart while my wife had the sorbet. First off, the gazpacho was amazing, easily a 10 out of 10! The flavor and texture was simply perfect. The Focaccia was also really good and an order must. The mains were good, but didn't quite hit the spot for us. The risotto lacked a bit in flavor, considering all the ingredients it consisted of. The Sugo sauce was good, but I found the pasta to be a bit undercooked; it was a thicker pasta that needed a little more time and didn't really adhere to the sauce that well. Overall I am giving it 4 stars, but this is mainly due to the mains that were served. The service staff were 5 stars as well as the gazpacho!

So I ordered "Spaghetti with Meaty Marinara and 3 Piece Meatballs" for $15.99. What I received was spaghetti and meatballs, no meaty sauce. The flavor was bland and nothing to rave about. The 3 meatballs were tasty. The pasta was a little dry. Perhaps you should put a scoop of sauce on top of the pasta before you seal the container. Also, they use a foil container, not a microwavable one. The dish itself tastes average, nothing special. For $15.99, you should add extra sauce and add a free dinner roll. I confirmed the item I ordered and they said they'd re-deliver. I live 10-15 min from the restaurant. 35 min later the re-delivered item arrived.... still not correct. I ordered "Bruschetta Chicken Pasta" and there was no bruschetta. The food itself was also pretty mediocre for the price they're charging. My husband was unimpressed with the quality and scant portion of his meatball spaghetti. The portion of my re-delivered item was ok, but the earlier (wrong) item they delivered was a tiny portion, the container barely half full. GrubHub provided a full refund for my Bruschetta Chicken Pasta, at least. Also as others have noted: the restaurant address is actually the address for VJ's Sports Bar, formerly Straw Hat Pizza, so not sure what's going on there... Bottom line: avoid this place.
