The food was delicious, and the service was warm and welcoming. We ordered the calamari fritti, Caesar salad, and chicken pasta, and everything was fresh and flavorful. The best part is the atmosphere--you truly feel like you're dining on a boat while enjoying beautiful views of the water. It's a relaxing and unique experience that's perfect for lunch or dinner with a beautiful waterfront view. Of course coffee

The cooks know what they are doing please don't mess with them lol! I ordered the FETTUCCINE DI VENETO with white sauce and it was soooo good I was dancing and rolling my eyes to the back of my head lol! Also honorable mention to the fresh warm bread and olive oil balsamic parmesan and garlic to go with it?? Chefs kiss, loved dipping it in my pasta. The carbonara was delicious and hearty as well everything had great flavor and came out piping hot which is my favorite. My bf said "delicious is an understatement. The clam chowder was better than most I've had in sf. The service was great and they had low classical music playing with a beautiful seat by the water, watching boats go by. I mean just perfect for a Saturday afternoon. 10/10 will be back. I noticed a lot of birthday parties and graduation parties!

Went to a friend's 85th birthday party. They had reserved upstairs which had a beautiful view. it started with the elevator not working even though they told us they had a working elevator!!! so I had to get help walking my grandma up the stairs and the only bathroom was downstairs so that wasn't good having to help her up and down the stairs. They only had 2 people tending to 50 guests? I give the service a two star maybe no one came around to clean off the tables. I had to clear off the table of coffee cups so we can have room for lunch plates and again to have cake! So disappointing! As far as the food did not like it at all. The spaghetti and meatballs were dry ,the salmon was like mush and did not taste great nothing was special about the food. sorry The only thing they had going for them was a beautiful view.

I only corrected grammar, spelling, and flow while preserving your wording. Food is OK. Service sucks. Ambiance is OK, but without good service it loses importance. We are not the type of people to leave bad reviews, but we genuinely couldn't stop talking about how bad the service was. We got to the place and there was no host at all. We waited for five minutes at the entrance, and when we were finally seated, they hurried us to take our order even though we were not ready. We ordered the meatballs, pasta carbonara, and fettuccine gamberetti. The pasta carbonara and fettuccine gamberetti were good. The meatballs, however, were bad. They had a weird aftertaste that I believe was lamb. If that's the case, the menu didn't say they were made with lamb. We did not want lamb, and that should be disclosed. They were also tough. The reservation system made us reserve an 8:00 p.m. table even though the restaurant was completely empty when we got there and they were already getting ready to close. The kitchen closed at 8:30 p.m., so the reservation requirement made no sense. All the plates came out at the same time. While we were eating, they kept reaching over us and bumping into us while trying to remove plates. Not once did they say "excuse me" or "sorry." They also were not paying attention to us. We needed salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes for the fettuccine gamberetti, but nobody ever checked on us. We literally had to get the salt and pepper from the table next to us. When we finally managed to ask for red pepper flakes, they brought out a plate with three tiny takeout-style pizza packets. For an Italian restaurant, that was terrible. To top it all off, right after they took the check, they turned off the music while we were still sitting at the table, even though we had already paid and were finishing our evening. It may sound like an exaggeration, but our entire dinner lasted only around 40 minutes. The only good thing I have to say is that they make a good carbonara. No cream, no bacon. Just pasta, egg, cheese, and pancetta. Delicious. And the building is beautiful.

I remember this place as the Rusty Pelican from a million years ago. The view is still fantastic, looking right at Jack London Square. So it was great to try it as the Pasta Pelican. Wait staff are very nice - but I wish they were a tad more personable. That being said - drinks refilled for the guys without asking but I had to request a refill on my ice tea. Meatballs were ok but we didn't really enjoy them. Very lamb tasting - sauce was good though. I'd give these a 2 out of 5 (pass on them) The bread though - I mean warm, soft, and I would go back just to enjoy the bread haha A+++ They need to give more oil & vinegar though. I ordered the seared scallops special. Generous portion & I took half the pasta home. Scallops were good and overall flavor solid B The Thai Pasta was eaten so fast and given 5/5 stars. Pro Tip: Don't waste the sauce - use the bread to finish up the sauce. My friends gave this an A grade Not seen - Carbonara- made with peas & green onions so not traditional but was given 2 thumbs up. Solid B The trout looked great and was given an A for the trout but minus points for the eggplant & beet with the veggies haha Key lime pie - big slice and delicious. We all got the pie & we all loved the pie! A grade for the pie. Parking - easy Views - beautiful Food - will be back for more Staff - very professional Cost - Slightly above average but worth it. Great place for a date or gathering of friends. I don't know if I'd bring a young kid but middle school up I would think they'd love it.

Hubby took me here on a dinner date. Very nice resturant on the water. Place was not packed just one large party and us. Apps were good. Food came out fairly quickly, very flavorful but salty. Service was helpful, welcoming and nice. Just nothing stuck out as different from other places. Walked around after the meal to check out the boats. Very nice scenery.

Pasta Pelican is a hidden Bay Area gem tucked away by the water. The food was delicious with fair portions. Service could be a bit better but overall a great experience! Definitely recommend the Fettuccine con Sugo Caldo and Salmon Piccata

We wanted to go somewhere different this year for our Xmas party and this place was picked. We made reservations late in the month and they were still able to get us in. Our party had 14 people in it so a little big. The place wasn't that busy so we sat down right away and waters we're brought to our table right away. Our waiter came a few minutes later and took our drink order and any appetizers. The drinks and the appetizers came out pretty quick. We ordered some calamari and meatballs. The calamari had a good crisp texture on it, a little salty though, and the aioli was pretty good. The meatballs had a little gamey in it, a little tenderness but could use some more tenderness to it, and the marinara sauce was very flavorful with just hint of spice in it. Everyone liked their drinks. Everyone ordered a caesar salad or the clam chowder soup. The salads were good, not to creamy or salty from the anchovies, and the soup was delicious with great texture to it, not white creamy more like a darker color white color to it, not a lot of clam taste to it which was good, and the perfect amount of clams and potatoes in it. Our entrees included- Pasta Pelican Cheese Burger - The burger and fries looked great. I was told the burger was cooked great (med rare), perfect bun to meat ratio, with good juicy flavor, and the fries were nice and hot. Fettuccine Con Sugo Caldo -The pasta was cooked perfect, the Italian sausage was very good with good flavor, and the sauce was very flavorful, a delicious dish. Pollo E Spinace -The pasta was cooked perfect, the veggies also cooked nicely, the chicken was tender, and the curry sauce was very different for a pasta dish but it was delicious. Ribeye Steak -I was told that the steaks were cooked great, they were tender, not overcooked, the mash potatoes and veggies that came with it were cooked perfect as well. Ravioli - I was told the pasta was cooked perfect and the sauce had a lit of flavor to it. Also, the dish was filling. Ahi Tuna Salad -I was told the tuna was cooked perfect and had some good seasoning to it. Desserts - Key Lime Pie - It was good lime flavor to it, the grinds were drizzled in it nicely, but the crust wasn't graham cracker crust so it took away from the true key lime pie. The crust was a regular pie crust which was just okay. The whipped cream was good. I was told that the Crème Brulée, Apple Walnut A La Mode, and the Tiramisu was really good. The service was excellent, all of our dishes came out together and in a timely manner, we didn't have to wait too long for anything, and the waiters was always asking if we needed anything. Didn't take photos of all the dishes. sorry. Plenty of seating inside and outside.

THAI SALAD - $24 - With filet mignon, kale, avocado, mango, and housemade Thai dressing.

WHEN: Sun @4pm My partner and I had plans of coming here for dinner, but when my sis and lil niblings came over to hang out, we decided to order take out from here instead! We placed and over on DoorDash the following for 3 adults and 2 kids: BREAD (Complimentary) I did not expect bread especially when it was a take out order. Oh and it was warm still by the time we got home! Gosh I appreciate complimentary bread to dip in the pasta sauce! CARBONARA - $20 +$3 CUP OF SOUP Prosciutto, onion, and bacon tossed with fettuccine in a creamy Parmesan sauce with a hint of garlic. Creamy indeed with the little chunks of bacon. Such a tasty and rich dish! BOLOGNESE - $20 +$3 CUP OF SOUP A hearty meat sauce topped with meatballs served over fettuccine. Okay, this dish was impressive. So good. You get both a meat sauce and large meatballs in this order. Sure it's on the greasier side but that's what that complimentary bread is more...soak it up! CUP OF SOUP - $3 Decided to add a cup of soup to my 2 pastas since it was only $3 in case the kids liked it. Had no idea what kind, but why not. It was really good whatever it was. It was like a potato chowder that was very thick and good for bread dipping! THAI SALAD - $24 With filet mignon, kale, avocado, mango, and housemade Thai dressing. Took a gamble on this since it's one: a salad, and 2, sounds pretty non-Italian, haha. But it was good! The dressing was like a sweet chili sauce that was sweet and savory. The filet mignon was tender and I didn't feel they were skimping on it. The mango was young (not ripe) and there were chuck of avocado. The only think I didn't care for was the fried noodles. Not sure how this would look if we had ordered in, but this take-out dish was massive! We ended up with so much leftover. Pelican Pasta serves both quality and quantity and I can't wait to dine-in!

Date: 3/28/2025 Time 7:15 PM 60° Cool Date night at Pasta Pelican Restaurant was a memorable one. He surprised me because I was not expecting dinner on a Friday evening. It has been a long time since I have tried to dine here. I rather not dwell on a negative experience in the past. My date recommended the grilled salmon salad for dinner. The description of that salad consists of grilled salmon with sauteed Roma tomatoes, fresh mango chunks, avocado, capers and Kalamata olives with a bed of spring mix greens, romaine infused with a citrus dressing. Ambiance: Seats by the window facing the estuary and Oakland was especially intimate and serene. I couldn't ask for more when the mellow sunset set. Eats and beverages: Two grilled salmon salad, margarita on the rocks with no salt (him) and kahlua & cream (me). I decided to forego the Arnold Palmer. Mmm...kahlua & cream...so smooth and a warm feeling. My grilled salmon salad was on point. Kudos to my date for the recommendation. I love it and him for treating me to an absolutely delicious salad. Service was excellent. The waitstaff were very attentive, pleasant and helpful. Indeed it was a wonderful dining experience especially with my date. Return visit? Yes, most definitely.

Vinyls and Wine? Sign me up! I had a great time hanging out at Vinyl Wine Bar!…read more Came here on a bit if whim after leaving work and was pleasantly surprised. Came here via Lyft which dropped me off in front of the brewery nearby. For context, this place is nestled in a work/live complex that features a few other restaurants. Depending on where you land, it can be a little tricky to find, but I managed and headed right in. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the lovely Bella who was incredibly kind and sweet. She made my time there wonderful! We gabbed, she gave me wonderful recommendations of food and drink around Alameda + she was so knowledgable about all of the wine in the bar. After a little bit of wine, I opted for one of the cheese plates. Truly great value! A few yummy cheeses of different varieties for around 25 bucks. It featured nuts, jam, and a giant pile of sliced bread. This was dinner and honestly could have easily been shared between myself and another person. I also tried the Vermouth spritz! I'm a huge fan of sweet Vermouth on ice, so this was a fun twist on one of my favorites. Perfect little Monday afternoon spent with Miss Bella at Vinyl wine bar! Incredible service, great food, and amazing wine! I will definitely be putting them in my wine bar rotation!

We are no strangers to wine bars and tasting rooms, not sure if that's good or bad. A nice very chill place for a glass of wine and snacks. Well maybe a bottle cause by the glass is a little high for Alameda. Some times a glass is what you want if your partner wants some thing different or you want to try a 2nd or 3rd glass of something different. We had a bottle of the Luberon for about $55. It was good. We both liked it and would order it again. We also had a cheese board with all the normal fixings which was great. Recieved "Best Wine Bar" in Best of Alameda ratings. But thinking about it sine Wine & Waffles closed years ago it may be the only wine bar left in Alameda. Yes, restaurants and bars serve wine but not the same thing. Lemon Drop came in 2nd on the list and they are hardly a wine bar. (No shade LD. You do great for who you are). Service was great and the lady who brought us all the goods was pleasant. Nice to see some people still understand hospitality. On initial visit going with a 4 with the right to upgrade on oir next visit which will be soon.

I visited La Loulou several months ago and wanted to give it some time before writing a review…read more After recently having a wonderful experience at another wine bar, I realized the difference in hospitality was too significant not to mention. I really wanted to like this place. I'd walked by several times and loved the interior design, and the videos on Instagram made it seem like such a great spot. I stopped in one evening by myself, ordered a glass of wine and the warm olives (which were delicious), and was looking forward to a relaxing night. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. The restaurant was packed, and the atmosphere felt more concerned with maintaining an image than making guests feel welcome. I understand some restaurants embrace a more reserved European style of service, but this came across as cold and pretentious rather than intentional hospitality. As a solo diner especially, I didn't feel acknowledged or valued as a guest. It also didn't help that the dining room had a noticeable body odor smell that took away from the experience. On a positive note, the bathroom was clean and beautifully designed. I originally thought this would become my go-to place to grab a glass of wine while waiting for a table at the ramen spot next door, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Reading through other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one who had this impression. Oakland's charm has always been its people. You can open a French-inspired wine bar, but hospitality translates into every language. If you're going to bring a Parisian aesthetic to Oakland, don't mistake indifference for sophistication. Guests should leave feeling welcomed, not judged.

I immediately apologized because it was an honest accident. An older woman, who appeared to be in her 50s, was sitting at the bar and became extremely upset. Even after I apologized, she continued yelling at me. I didn't engage at first, but she kept escalating the situation. She eventually put her hand in my face basically hitting my face and pushed my face physically., That's when I finally responded. My friends witnessed the entire interaction and told her she was in the wrong. What disappointed me most was how security handled it. Instead of listening to both sides or trying to de-escalate the situation, they immediately seemed to side with her and even told one of the men in my group to get us to back off. To this day, I still feel they gave her more credibility because she was older, despite multiple people seeing what actually happened. I don't get into confrontations, which is one reason this experience has always stayed with me. This is only coming up now because every so often my friends bring up that night and how poorly the situation was handled. It reminded me that I never left a review, so I finally decided to write one. These days I rarely go to bars anymore because I'm more into fitness and wellness, but even if I did, Oeste wouldn't be my first choice after this experience. I hope management ensures security listens to both sides before making assumptions.
