When you first enter Kids First you definitely get the vibes that this is a kid-centric business. From the fish tank to the colors to the arcade game in the lobby. My kids felt at ease right away. Both of my kids are able to get their cleanings at the same time. The dentist then sees them one after the other to keep our visits as short as possible. The hygienists are pleasant, keeping my kids calm by explaining everything they are going to do. The dentist they see is super friendly and personable, she has a great rapport with them. My kids have come here for cleanings, cavity fillings and slightly more complicated things. They claim a text was sent and confirmed and a message left on our answering machine at home. Neither happened. We were marked as a no show and told we could be billed for the missed appointment. Before the transfer both my children had known no other dentist and could always count on a smile or courtesy during an issue. Now you're just a number. The receptionist couldn't have cared less about the screw up and was borderline rude while we tried to resolve it. We walked out and will be canceling our pending appointments while we look for better service. I can't give zero stars.

I just moved to the area and my child doesn't have a dentist yet. Unfortunately he chipped a tooth so I came across this dentist because they say on their website they offer emergency care. However when they called they said they only way for me to get an appointment would be to make a appointment for a cleaning and full exam. Unfortunately it hasn't quite been six months since his last exam so I wasn't sure if my insurance would cover the cleaning yet. When I described the problem again they told me if I didn't do the cleaning I couldn't get an appointment until February. Obviously with a chipped tooth you shouldn't wait that long to receive any care--and honestly their staff should be telling people that so that the child's tooth doesn't get more damaged. I'm totally fine if they just didn't have an opening (and in fact we ended up finding a really nice office). However, I just think they should remove the claim from their website that they do emergency dental care because based on my conversation with them they basically don't.

The hygienist said the dentist was in a procedure while we continued waiting after the cleanings of the other 2, far beyond a reasonable amount of time. Our three appointments were at the same time and I'm not sure how another procedure could have been added in between them. More concerning was the mishandling of medical records afterward. When requesting my children's records to transfer care, the office repeatedly failed to send them correctly and ultimately sent another family's children's records to me, while sending some of my children's records to a different parent. This serious HIPPA violation was only acknowledged after I pointed it out myself. The combination of excessive wait times, poor communication, and careless handling of sensitive patient information made us lose confidence in this practice entirely.

In addition I was promised I would receive a call the next day and I never did. 7 days later I called to request a copy of my bill be emailed and 1:30 later still no receipt. I called a 2nd time and got a lot of lip service and a 2nd request for a copy of the bill to be emailed and never got it. Mind you this isn't a practice understaffed by any means...in fact there were about 5 people sitting at the front desk area. Called a 3rd time for a copy of the bill which i never received and the practice was closed for the day. I'm not one to right reviews at all. In fact I work in a customer service related industry and I understand the influence these reviews can have on a businesses, however in this case the overall customer service was so poor I felt obligated to share this in an effort to hope inform future clients but also hope that the owner/investors in this practice make sure this type of thing doesn't happen in the again.
