To bad I can't give zeroes. They came Saturday because my basement flooded and I was told i rained to hard Friday and the sewer couldn't handle it. They did nothing. It Thursday and ten minutes after it started to rain it started to flood again. My basement after 2.5 hours and it's still raining and flooding I have filled 24 - 20 gallon bins. my attic was clean but I had to dump all the bins so thanks to Fazio I have a flooded basegment that should have been fixed days ago and I have to reclean my attic after I sanitize the bins. read more

Description of Complaint: Joe (owner/operator) from Fazio Sewer & Plumbing was dispatched by my Home Warranty provider (AHS) to assess plumbing issues, his assessment was misleading, blatantly false and full of speculation. I was denied coverage based on this and I qoute " Reason Not Covered, Not Normal Wear & Tear. Contractor Note: Toilet is cheap builders model date on toilet 1970 and has poor flush volume. This is not covered and toilet has not flushed properly for 25 or more years" end qoute. The toilet is old, 1970 however it is clean (not even a water ring), unbroken, tightly secured and maintained and Joe is unable to coherently explain where he came up with 25 years?... Fazio claims that the toilet is not normal wear and tear but the fact that it mostly works is a testament to its initial quality and its condition shows absolutely nothing other than normal wear and tear. He additionally claims that "toilet hasn't functioned properly in 25 years". It still flushes, we used it for days before it overflowed and his in person assessment indicated a calcium buildup however that is not reflected in his written report. On a different item, he claims qoute "2 leaking basket strainers in double sink" he didn't even check that because the water was turned off his entire visit. Regardless of whether his report was ineptly completed or if he was purposely misleading to reduce costs to AHS his mischaracterizations and rampant speculation is negligent and improper. As a final note, his demeanor and professionalism was extremely lacking and this is reflected on Yelp with other complaints of a similar nature, in my opinion he is essentially an employee of the American Home Shield warranty company whose only job is to write up fictitious assessments to deny coverage as reflected in other reviews linking him to AHS jobs. He is inaccessible as his only contact is an answering machine that doesn't allow you to leave a recording as its filled to capacity. We were stuck using Fazio Plumbing as the home warranty company assigned them to us. They have no sense of urgency and therefore, we were without hot water for 2 weeks. Them coming out Monday turned into Wednesday. That visit consisted of the guy telling us that the hot water tank needed replacing. Really? Being that we told them that that was what we needed, we were pretty upset having already been without hot water for 6 days. The communication was terrible and after trying to find out when the new tank was coming, we finally got a text telling us that it would be the following Friday. My husband and I both cut our days short to get home in time for the service, but we didn't need to, as it was about 4pm when this guy finally arrived. He didn't listen to my husband and use the front door. He tried taking the tank in through the garage, where the tank wouldn't fit. In going up the steps, He kicked our Ryobi fan to clear the way. after getting hired through my warranty company, and work not being up to code (per TWO others that were sent back to fix his snotty work) Joe from Fazios called me up and called me a F***ing B***H. then set up an appointment and did not show. HE did not like me saying his work was not up to code. they warranty company set up another vendor to company will not work on another plumbers crap. Awful! Man is a lunatic. He doesn't deserve your business. I put in a warranty claim and he was listed as my contractor. It was Friday at 5:30 and I wanted to get scheduled as soon as possible and ended up calling 4 times. 1st time I listened to a lengthy voicemail and thought I heard something about being able to schedule online, that would be great I thought. I then called back to see if I missed something because there was no indication of HOW or what website to go to-but again, this was not clear. So I then called again and asked my husband to also listen to the voicemail perhaps I still didn't catch it only this time someone picked up and hung up. Naturally, I called back as anyone would because I thought the phone got disconnected only to be met with "why the f are you calling my phone back to back like a f*** child"- I said I'm sorry sir-like is this not a business phone? How unprofessional is this!? And he went on to say racist and gender degrading epithets and hung up. I called a few more times in hopes of him to answer so that I could inform him that he was fired before he got started and he will never step foot in my home! This was the most unprofessional disgusting person I have ever encountered. Do not use this company especially if you live on the "eastside" you will be treated like scum by him! My frustration was with HSA the insurance company which charged me $680 out of pocket for an entry level hot water tank. The plumbing company was great in communication, timeliness and professionalism. Cam on time and was done on time and did a great job with clean up. Fazio was sent to my home through my home warranty program, American Home Shield. I had instant hot tankless water heater that wasn't working. The "skilled technician" that was sent out spent 20mins max at my home didn't do anything. I had already spent hrs on YouTube and ordered a part that was the most likely the problem. The tech wouldn't even try the new part to see if that was the problem. He told me my unit was shot and needed replaced. And that it would all go through the warranty program. Well we replaced the part after he left and now it works and I called the warranty program to let them know it's fixed but not by them. I can't believe how many bad reviews this company has and is still in business. read more

TERRIBLE COMPANY We had Mark from Fazio Sewer and Plumbing come out today to fix our pipe leaks, garbage disposal, water heater, and shut off valves. He came around 4pm and was only there for 10-15 minutes. He refused to go upstairs and look at the clogged sink in the bathroom. He was also very unprofessional and entered my home after saying he was all done. I got a notice on my security camera of him re-entering my home after I had left and staying in there for 5 minutes before leaving. Also there is a leak under the kitchen sink and he completely ignored it and only fixed the garbage disposal. His response when I said the hot water tank wasn't hot, was "well it's an old house". Mark told me if it was such an issue I should put in another request in 24 hours and pay another $100. I gave them a 1 star review for their service because I felt disrespected in my home and Mark was very unprofessional. To which I got a call from Joe at Fazio Sewer and Pluming. I answered the phone and Joe started yelling at me and cussing me out saying that we are stupid and we don't understand anything. He also said that he didn't get paid enough to fix all of our problems. We used the company form our home warranty HSA. Shame on them for hiring such an incompetent and unprofessional business. I was working with the warranty insurance company that I have with my newly purchased home, and the water heater stopped heating. I called the insurance company who gave me this company to work with to repair my water heater. The first worker who came out was within the time frame, looked over the water heater, and explained what was going on, as far as they're being a problem with the wiring, the signals it was giving off were all over the place, and that it would likely be best to just replace the water heater itself. When I called back with this company to schedule an appointment to set up for replacing the water heater, they told me that it was going to be $500 something dollars. One because they had to cut out and modify a large part of the water and gas lines to the tank , which that alone was quoted around $435, and then towing away. The water heater would be an additional $95. I asked my neighbor who works in plumbing and electrical about it and he looked over my lines and said there was nothing wrong with them. I agreed to schedule the appointment, and said if I change my mind about anything that I could always ask later and they told me yes. When the workers showed up, it was somebody different than the first time. So I explained to them how I had spoken with the company already about not taking the water heater away and just putting it near my garage, because my neighbor offered to get rid of it for me. I also told the worker that I did not want him to modify the water and gas lines, and just to replace the heater. The worker was not very intelligible, he was mumbling so I couldn't understand him very well. He said something about needing to get a hose to drain the water tank and went outside to his van. After being out there a few minutes he just drove off. I was confused about why he left, so I check the text messages for the work order and see that both for the insurance company and the plumbing company are both marked as completed. The worker had not done anything to my old water heater. I tried to call the company multiple times about 4 or 5 times, and they would not pick up the phone at all. So I left a message asking what was going on and if they're going to replace the water heater. I get no answer so I tried texting the number that texted me about the technician. I get a very rude and obnoxious response about me wasting their time, about how I told their technician. I would not pay out of pocket charges, and how they were not there to debate charges with a homeowner, then tell me how they wasted six hours of work of driving 30 mi to my home, ordering the water heater and administration and working times and since I refused to pay they would not do the work. Note, they did not touch my old water heater and had done nothing before their worker left. When I further questioned why wouldn't they just answer their phone so we could talk, and me explaining to them over text message that their worker did not tell me what was going on and had just left without letting me know why. I received another extremely rude text message, with them accusing me of stalking and harassing them, told me that they would not be harassed into installing a hot water heater for free ( The hot water heater was not what was getting charged, the what hot water heater was being replaced free of charge, they were trying to charge me for replacing the connectors which I said I did not want them to do, but never refused to pay), told me that I could go ahead and call the better Business bureau, and that they would call and report me to the police for aggravated harassment and internet harassment, threatened to put a lien against my property to recuperate their "lost costs", and threatened to call the police if I bothered to contact them any further. I had tried calling the insurance company, who was backing these people and told me I had to pay for the modification to the gas and water lines if I wanted to get my hot water tank. I told them They could have just answered the call and spoken with me instead of being nasty and threatening me, and told them to go f*** themselves. And blocked their phone number. They then turned to emailing me, and telling me how I was being very unladylike, and told me to have a nice day young lady. And when I told them they were now harassing me, and to leave me the f*** alone, they then told me they were going to save my message to show the type of person they were dealing with, and again told me to have a nice day young lady. These people are extremely rude and obnoxious, and are extremely poor communication. I am still wondering why the insurance/ warranty company was having people that were 30 miles away drive all the way to my home instead of hiring a more localized, plumbing company. I would not use these people ever. I will again note I never refused to pay for services rendered, I just didn't want them modifying my lines for gas and water. read more

This company was referred to me because of my home warranty. In my opinion, I think they are not ethical. I was told I would have to pay extra for misc. parts, which I had no problem paying for but when I asked for a detailed receipt of what they put on...because they walked out my door with a lot of new parts and left on a lot of old parts...they refused to give me a receipt. So, I think they charged me for stuff they never used. You will never get a live person on the phone. Ask for another service provider if you are told to work with them and refuse to pay additional monies for anything unless you receive an itemized bill. Crooks! My home warranty sent them to fix a drain issue. They said it was paint and not covered by the warranty. They tried to quote me at $2000+ to fix it. I called a different company and within 2 minutes they were able to diagnose the problem has a ball fell down the drain. They charged me $35 to fix the issue. I was assigned Fazio Sewer & Plumbing by American Home Shield to repair a broken water pipe in my house. They were assigned to me on June 21st at 8 AM in the morning. I have called them 7 times and left messages and also emailed them my availability two times. They have NEVER returned any call or the email. American Home Shield is just as awful...DON'T USE THEM. They won't assign me a new contractor, won't let me talk to a supervisor and everyone I'm talking to is in Ghana and I can hardly understand them. My pipe is still leaking and it's June 26th. My tenant called about a leak. I got assigned to these people by my home warranty company. They repaired the leak and it turns out I had a clog too. They only fixed the leak and I had to pay for another work order to fix the clog. You would think that he would mention something about a clog if he checked his work. read more

Absolutely horrific. Not only are they not licensed in Lorain county they're only qualified to unclog drains NOTHING ELSE. They "installed" a new hot water tank thank was banged up to hell- did not adjust the settings and left my old tank full of water leaking in my basement. The owner Joe Fazio came into my house and started yelling at me and left without doing a single thing. He yelled, swore and didn't even tell me he was coming. Psycho Joe is the correct name as this guy is just that. So not use this company they are not qualified and likely no licensed in your area either!! Next stop will be filing a BBB CASE. The worst plumbing company ever! The plumber they sent to my home was a racist jerk. As soon as he saw that I was a woman of color, he would not even speak to me. I was so uncomfortable that I called my husband to come home from work immediately. I had a leak in my ceiling and the toilet was leaking. He told my warranty company that the toilet was clogged and it was builders model/prone to clogging and that we should be responsible for replacement. The toilet was never clogged! Read the other reviews. Was connected via home warranty, they came out and did nothing, but suggested pricy smoke testing that the warranty wouldn't cover. I tried to get a cost estimate for months, they were completely unresponsive. Then they told me to get incremental approval from the home warranty. Fine. Finally got additional approval from the home warranty company only to finally get a response from Fazio -- they can't do the smoke testing anymore. Waste of hours of time and month. If I could give this company negative 5 stars I would. Not only do they lack communication and customer service, but they have no idea what honesty and professionalism are, and they've damaged my brand-new flooring. Fazio Sewer and Plumbing were assigned to me by my home warranty company, American Home Shield- AHS. I've never had an issue with anyone AHS has sent to me, so I unfortunately didn't bother to read reviews. BIG mistake and will never happen again. I was having my brand new floors installed during this same time as this nightmare happened. The morning of April 20th Jesse from Fazios arrived a few minutes before the guys installing my floors arrived. I tell Jesse that my kitchen garbage sink wouldn't drain and there had been stagnant water in it. I then explained that the bathroom toilet, off of the kitchen, when flushed would rise then slowly go down. It's a guest bathroom and never really used. Once he said he understood I went back upstairs. A bit later he hollered up so when I went down, he said there was a clog but it was fixable. Nothing was ever said that there would be an additional cost or it was outside of what he was supposed to be doing. I go back upstairs. Then shortly after one of the flooring guys hollered up to me that there was water underneath my floor. How is this possible because I Iive on a concrete slab and since the downstairs floor had been installed the day before and had been dry. He and I walk to the bathroom, where Jesse wasn't, and we see the toilet completely off and sitting off to the side and water on my bathroom floor. I go outside and find Jesse sitting in the truck on texting/on his phone. I tell him there's water on my bathroom floor and underneath my living room floor. He says " there is? As if he was confused " and I said yes! What is going on? He comes back in, looks and said there was a clog and it had been from flushable wipes. Weird because there weren't ever any in the bathroom and again it isn't a bathroom that is used. A little bit after he yells up that he was done and was leaving. Never looked at the kitchen sink or addressed the water under the floor. The guys installing the floor then had to stop and haven't been able to finish. To make it clear I had 4 men there installing my floor as witnesses to my floor being dry and then once the plumber started working water coming up from underneath. We also have pictures. Once Jesse left I called Fazio's twice and left a voicemail. I called AHS and Joe, the owner of Fazios, called back, left me a voicemail. I returned his call at 11:43am and with him on speaker, so the main floor installer who had been at my house all week could hear the conversation. Joe immediately had a hostile tone to his voice, took ZERO responsibility for what his employee had done regarding the water damage. He said that they did me a favor because they cleared the clog when they weren't supposed to and was tired of " you people "- I asked him to clarify what that meant and he said customer- and he makes no money off of home warranty companies and doesn't care. He told me I was the one who caused the damage to my new floors and was the reason water was on my bathroom floor and living room. He said the flooring guys should clean up the water under the floor because that isn't his employee's job. He ended the conversation with yelling to never call them again and hanging up on me. I believe he spoke to me that way because I am a woman and he thought I would be intimidated. I contacted AHS, told them about the conversation and worked with them for the next 7 business days on a resolution. I logged into my AHS account to see a bill for $650 for work I never authorized or agreed upon. I never would've given permission to do work outside of what my warranty was covering, nor do I believe that was the actual problem. I haven't used that bathroom or even flushed the toilet out of fear that Jesse didn't actually fix anything, and I don't want to cause more damage. I believe it was all just an excuse because he knew he screwed up. Joe Fazio knows how to work the system with AHS. If a vendor responds back by day 7 your claim will be denied and dropped. He told AHS Jesse provided me with excellent service, went above and beyond and he hung up on me because I was yelling at him. He denied Jesse caused any damage and they were not responsible. Just as an FYI to anyone with AHS if the vendor doesn't contact them back by day 7 they will then transfer your claim to yet another, higher, department, Contractor Relations. But since it was day 7 when Joe returned their call, they denied my claim and said there was nothing more they could do for me. Unfortunately, AHS is ignoring the 4 witnesses I have, pictures as well as the witness to the phone conversation. No wonder Fazio's hasn't had more than 1 or 2 good reviews in a year since 2017. 99% are all 1 stars and other people have also reported them damaging their property and being disrespected by Joe. read more

Approved the claim and then tried to get more money stating the water heater needed "modifications" to reconnect water and gas lines. When I called them out on the unnecessary repairs then then cancelled the ticket and we are now over 1 week with no hot water. Would never recommend them to anyone. read more

I called to follow up on a work order from 2 weeks earlier. They never followed up on it. When I called I was old things were not covered and to call AHS. When I asked for a break down of charged he started getting upset and yelling at me. Plumber was not friendly, not professional, and would not detail work being needed, Ask for somebody else. My home warranty company (American Home Shield) dispatched Fazio Sewer & Plumbing to my property in Cleveland area. Shoddy unfinished work. Simple clog that they could not unclog in basement after multiple attempts. Kitchen sink could not be used for "3 WEEKS" in a house with kids because this company couldn't unclog a pipe in the basement and never calls you back to finish the job. Warranty company finally dispatched another company which unclogged the pipe on its first attempt. Once Fazio Sewer & Plumbing decides not to finish your job, you'll never get a call back from them, which is what happened with me. It was always me leaving a voicemail to them because they never answer their phone (bad sign!). Then sometimes their voicemail box is full so I can't even leave a message (another bad sign! -- other people apparently are cramming their voicemail box full too). Then, when I complained to my home warranty company, the warranty company told me that Fazio's couldn't get in touch with me, although they never left me a voicemail, I never got a missed call from them, and it's always me trying to contact them. If they couldn't finish the job, why say this to the home warranty company which only delays the home warranty company sending out a different company? So, not only are they refusing to finish the job, but they are also delaying the home warranty company from sending out someone else to finish the job (a double whammy). Meanwhile the kitchen sink can't be used for 3 weeks. Imagine your kitchen sink not working in your house for 3 weeks. If you like a plumber that doesn't finish the job, you have to always chase them down to finish the job, and never calls you back, this is the right one for you. I should also add that months prior to this incident, I had my home warranty company send someone to fix a leaking toilet (leaks onto the floor in tiny amounts from where the tank joins the bowl) and to clear up the main drain in the basement where the washing machine dumps into because it was draining slowly. I figure that I would get both of these easy problems fixed. On that occasion, the home warranty company also dispatched Fazio. I thought Fazio fixed the problem. But I learned later from my property manager after a tenant moved in that both items were not fixed and my property manager had to repair them himself. read more

Although it took a few more days than I expected to get an appointment, the plumbers who showed up at my house were courteous, clean, and explained exactly what they were doing to fix the problem. It was a quick job for them and they were in and out in no time. If I needed sewer or plumbing work done in the future, I'd definitely consider using them again. read more
