Fearless Flyers Academy was the setting for my very first flying trapeze class! A friend and I signed up online for a Saturday afternoon, 2-hour class and we are SO HAPPY we did! What a thrill! On registration, I received a very informative email confirming my class, instructions to arrive 15 minutes early, and tips on what I should wear (bottoms that cover the back of your knees, a top that covers your middle, socks, tying hair back, etc - all aimed at maintaining comfort and safety during class). Feeling prepared and with loads of excitement, I made my way to this Mystic location (a mere 45 minutes from my home in Rhode Island). Our particular class was capped at 10 participants which was a great amount of people. Time to relax and learn in between each turn and gave an opportunity to watch others and hear feedback to improve your own performance. The instructors wasted no time in getting us up and on the trapeze apparatus. A couple pointers and safety rules and you find yourself hanging in the air. Everyone is strapped into a safety harness and clipped in while climbing ladders/swinging so the whole experience I felt very secure and confident. You learn a progression of skills (with some practice on the ground) and depending on how you advance, you may find yourself performing a successful catch by the end of class! 9 out of 10 people in our class did while the last bravely conquered their fears. A win by all! The instructors were very skilled, supportive, and personable. Their professionalism and clear background in the sport added to this quality experience. While sitting waiting for class to begin, I was captivated by their coaching in other offerings. Aerial classes for silks, hoops, static trapeze and trampoline are just a small part of what they offer here. Honestly, check this gym out. The prices are reasonable, they offer discounts on packages, and it is a great environment to try something new. (And how cool is it to show your friends videos of you on the flying trapeze!) read more

This review is only based on the customer service at Fearless Flyers, as I was unable to go due to the national pandemic going on.  Back in October, I had contacted FFA about booking a bachelorette party for middle/end of April. Ally (I am unsure if this is the director or not) had warned me that weather could possibly be an issue as it could still be cold or even snowy in April, but we decided to book anyways. Although then she just stopped answering. I contacted FFA on instragram-no response, I sent another email-no response, finally I had to use my fiance's FB (I don't have one) to contact them in which she finally responded and we proceeded with the booking and I paid the deposit to the info@FFA email address. Come end of march, the nation wide pandemic is going on- I email info@FFA again with no response yet again. So I have my fiance send another message on FB, Ally or whoever responds with saying they are closed and could provide a refund. I messaged back saying unfortunately we unable to arrange accommodations to move our party due to the pandemic to use the refund, as we live out of state-yet again no response. Almost a month goes by and I have my fiance send another message kindly asking about a possible refund due to the pandemic. Finally I get this nasty message back from them.  Ally decided to finally respond to one of my emails about the pandemic cancellation from a DIFFERENT email address so it went to spam. And there were not numerous emails sent to me, she sent ONE email about not being able to provide a refund. She also didn't strongly suggest not to book and if anything it was pertaining to the possible weather in April, NOT to a national pandemic. I do not know what I did to warrant this kind of attitude when a simple "I am sorry we are unable to provide a refund" would have sufficed. *I ADDED A SCREENSHOT OF THE NASTY FB MESSAGE I RECEIVED* I'm sure the trapeze classes are great, but the customer service is not, stay away if you want to plan a party. You don't have to run away to be in the circus anymore! Fearless Flyers Academy offers classes in flying trapeze, trampoline, aerial fabrics, flexibility, and more in a new 10-000+ square foot gym. The Fearless owners, Don and Ally Dinh, have extensive backgrounds in gymnastics and acrobatics, and as coaches, they've trained gymnastic champions, Olympians, and Cirque du Soleil performers. For their flying trapeze class, Don and Ally didn't waste any time in getting me and nine others up the ladder, onto the platform, and swinging out over the safety net below, where some people dismounted with a backflip (everyone else in class) and others gracelessly let go and fell from the bar (me). Those who aced their backflip went on to hang from the trapeze by their knees, and the bravest of the brave could sail out from and grab onto the hands of a catcher awaiting on another bar across the net. Daredevils, athletes, and those who simply seek a playful and challenging addition to their fitness regimen are sure to satisfy their inner child at Fearless Flyers. Flying trapeze is also the perfect option for those looking for a family-friendly workout--though I don't recommend it as a way to break through dad's fear of heights. read more

Really fun random activity. We thought we would be getting lots of instructions and drills on the ground but we were wrong, the whole time is the good stuff! I would say a very very small number of people can say they tried this, lots of bragging rights, sign up ASAP. read more

This was the most fun I've had in awhile!!! Everyone was so pleasant and you could tell that the community there is so close and kind to each other! They made me feel so safe while a was on the flying trapeze and it's exhilarating when your flying in the air! read more

Almost a year ago, a friend and I heard about this place and thought it sounded like fun. We walked in nervous and excited that first day. The staff are super friendly and put you at ease from the start. They are so patient and encouraging while teaching skills that you never dreamed of doing. It's obvious that safety is very important to the staff. I feel secure and safe every time I climb up and swing out. I was hooked from that very first class and have continued to take classes and learn new skills since then. Whether you're looking for a fun adventure or a new way to workout, this place is for you! I signed up to go to a class on Memorial Day (I thought) with friends who had been before. I live 90 minutes or so away. We carpooled and upon arriving I was told that my name was not registered for the class but all of the other people in my group were. After investigating my e-mail it was determined that I signed up for the class scheduled the day before. I felt like such an idiot. The women at the desk was nice and told me that the front desk person had called me the day before. I screen my calls usually but did not notice any missed calls. I asked why the person hadn't left a message or anything so that I would have known I registered for the wrong day. The women politely did not answer my question but informed me the class was full. She said that on occasion they do allow an extra person and told me that she would check with the coaches. She came back and said they declined and I would not be able to participate. I said that was incredibly disappointing since we drove an hour and a half and I was then stuck there. I didn't even ask for a refund because I accept responsibility of messing up the dates. While sitting there for two hours I overheard the women at the desk say the owner was the front desk person the day prior. I am most upset that she didn't leave a message- what's the point of calling and not leaving a message?They give you a free class to use in the following 30 days to encourage you to come back and the front desk person told me she would still give me the certificate. I informed her I was no longer interested in participating in any classes at the facility because I feel like they should have left me a message so that I would have known I screwed up. I would have been fine with missing out and losing the money since I would have just not gone and planned for another time. I will go to The New England Circus Academy in Brattleboro, VT. as they just opened a brand new indoor flying trapeze building. Double check your calendars when booking things and if you attend a class at Fearless bring socks (something that should be noted on the website but isn't). read more

I had the pleasure of flying regularly with Fearless Flyers in their previous location, but their new gym only makes it better! The gym is brand new, beautiful, spacious, and comfortable to train in or to watch while others do. The equipment is very new as well, and it's very clean and gentle on the body. They've got a great variety of classes they offer, and as always, the staff is amazingly positive, professional, and well-trained to make everything safe. Love this place! Can't wait to go back. Fearless Flyers Academy is amazing! My 14-year-old took her first lesson in July and we have been back at least once a week ever since. She just can't get enough. The staff are experts at what they do. Safety always comes first, but making sure everyone has fun is a close second. After watching my daughter fly (and grow in skill level and confidence) for about 6 months, I decided to try trapeze, too. I have to admit that I was terrified (I absolutely hate being up high), but everyone at Fearless Flyers took the time to make me feel comfortable and ready to face my fear. I'm so glad that I did! Now I can say that I have tried trapeze. If you are looking for an adventure, great exercise, or an amazing confidence builder, then Fearless Flyers is the place to go. BTW...I also have a 5 year old daughter and she is counting the days until she turns 6 so that she can try flying, too! read more

A friend dragged me to this place a few months ago and I'm so glad she did. Everything about this gym is great: the staff, equipment, quality of teaching, and prices. What you get in class is so worth it...one on one training and a great community of people.
