I highly recommend this gym on Groton sub-base over Morton Hall. Located in the Human Resources…read moreBuilding on the second floor. Parking is available in the surrounding lots as long as the stall is unmarked. Parking during noon is a bit difficult but after 3pm parking is open. This gym offers an assortment of machines (smith machine, weight machines, ellipticals, treadmills, etc.), a free weight section, a matted workout area, and an open dance floor for group events. There's also a running track on the third floor. For some reason this gym is WAY emptier than the gym in Morton Hall. The machines are almost always open, and the ventilation is better in comparison. There's also a water bottle refill station in the left corner and a coat rack on the right corner. During my visits I've seen group classes such as spin, free weight drills, and Zumba. I've also seen a masseuse once! Ask the ladies working at the check in table for a schedule.

You'll need your military ID to gain access to the facility. They have an assortment of classes, from HIIT to cycling. The layout of the gym looks like a converted basketball court. My best description is Planet Fitness' step sister. It's clean, friendly staff, and an abundance of workout equipment. Things that may matter: - free weights don't exceed 75lbs - only 4 benches (tends to get congested) - only one smith machine - two cable machines - 20 treadmills (+/- I didn't really count lol) - USUALLY EMPTY (every time I've went, maybe 10 people there who were actually using the equipment not taking a class) It's a basic gym that has everything you need to get a good work out in. Mostly women go there, so, for those ladies that feel intimidated by the male infested Morton's gym, try this one.

This is a review of the Renegade Fitness Gym located on Fargo Rd. very close to the intersection of…read moreRte 85 and the I-395 overpass. There are multiple Renegade Gym locations in SE CT and one in Westerly RI. The Waterford location is the largest Renegade Gym occupying a facility that once was a racquet club encompassing three full-size indoor tennis courts. Parking is excellent in front of the main entrance, at the side of the facility, and in an adjoining dedicated lot. I joined Renegade in the summer of 2020 and have always easily found parking. The club fully complies with the local Ledge Light health requirements and during the time period when masking was required ejected people refusing health regulations. The Gym supports multiple group classes such as silver sneakers classes (free for most insured seniors) and group exercise classes. There are trainers for individuals and small groups, eg seniors with neuropathy and balance concerns. There are a very large number of exercise machines, several indoor racquetball courts and an indoor astroturf area, and a short running track, eg. for weighted sled exercises. The club is always staffed. Check-in is with an indoor keycard and there is no external keycard access outside of open hours. Anyone concerned with personal security should feel very comfortable. The Gym is open unusually early. Check the web for hours. I suggest stopping by, looking around, and asking the staff about the club. I have no affiliation with Renegade and am a very satisfied 79-year-old senior customer.

This gym was bought out by a company called renegade. Dont bother signin up for this gym. They say…read morethey pride themself with great customer service. Thats just complete bull crap. They trapped me wit a membership renewal that i didnt ask for. Then when they got bought out they made it difficult just to cancel the membership. This is year 2018 and they still want you to write a letter to why you are cancelling your membership and send it in to coorporate via certified mail. This place is small and full of senior citizens taking up space. They recently remodeled. But you cant polish shit into diamond. Bunch of thieves. No wonder they call themselves "Renegade"
