Staying at the Avi Casino and had some restaurants to choose from. Chose the Feathers Cafe because I was looking for some general food, like a Cafe has to offer. Must make a correction right off the ba---Yelp says it only stays open til 6pm, but they are open 24 hours except Tuesday, when they close at 11pm. Decor is Native American themed. Clean and comfortable. Host that seated us was very kind and polite, nice smile. Waitress was kind as well, though not as quick on keeping my water filled as I'd like. I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and my husband ordered a Patty Melt with fries. Cobb salad was very large and very pretty. Ranch is thin and runny, which is how I like it. Salad was good and would order again. Patty melt was good and when he got to the second half of the sandwich was still crunchy. He said normally they're a bit soggy, so good job Feathers! Cost us a little over $20 for the two meals (no drinks, we got water). Good price for the food. All in all, what you'd look for in a Cafe at casino. Will be back tomorrow morning for breakfast--looking forward to a yogurt parfait or a plate of fresh seasonal fruit. Had breakfast the next day and was much more disappointed. I was so looking forward to the yogurt with berries and was let down. The yogurt (about 1 cup) was peach, not vanilla as advertised. The granola was good, but out of 3 berry types only the blackberries were all ripe. The biscuits that came with the breakfast were lemon flavor, which is not my thing. So all in all, not my fav. Husband's omelette was okay, nothing special. Hashbrowns weren't good he said, didn't eat them after a couple bites. Staff was super nice & friendly though, which made the experience nice. The EPIC burrito is one of my favorite items to order. I've tried many items here and have yet to find 1 bad item. Their guacamole is made fresh daily! The refried beans are delish! The service is ALWAYS friendly, ask for Felix, Wendy or Julissa if you need help deciding. Clean and good music. For a quick dinner here, Onion Soup was pretty good but overly salty. An Iced Tea was robust, and a small Dinner Salad with Cherry Tomatoes and Thousand island Dressing rather plain. An entrée of Double Fried Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes and cooked zucchini was good and enhanced by excellent County Gravy. Meanwhile, Diane liked her Piggy Bowl of bacon, ham, cheese, tater tots, and scrambled eggs all tossed and cooked together. Seating in a very casual setting was comfortable. While visiting the AVI my wife and I walked through the casino and looked at the food places. The Feathers Restaurant had a $14.99 steak and lobster dinner advertised that looked good so we thought we would give it a go. The staff was absolutely great, the lobster was what they call in Maine a "kid" but it was ok. The steak was really good! The last time I tried a steak was at the Aquarius Casino Outback and that was a big disappointment. The steak at the Feathers was really great, the best I've had in this area so far. I would definitely be a returning customer and recommend the Feathers to anyone that appreciates a good steak dinner at a great price. Hats off to the staff and the chef! read more

When we go to Laughlin this is always the restaurant we eat at when we visit the Avi Casino. Their food is good and it's extremely economical here. One thing I do want to point out is that you may not like eating here if you mind the smoking. Although their smoking and non smoking sections are seperate they are still connected. So they do have a smoking & non smoking area in the restaurant. Our waiter was nice & very friendly. I also asked for a suggestion on two things I wanted to get but wasn't sure so be explained which would be better and why. He made it easy for me to choose. This was the only restaurant open when we visited, but given the menu that was fine. Service was good, the prime rib dip was good, the French fries were good, and the sweet potato fries were good. The cheeseburger seemed small enough to have been offered on the kids' menu, and the meat seemed not to be seasoned. Perhaps the oddest thing was that the entire casino required face masks, but with the restaurant maybe 75 percent empty they seated another couple in the booth right next to ours. We've been in this restaurant like a hundred times . We go here like almost everyday sometimes 2x a day. So it's so disappointing when we got a very bad food and a bad service. The carne asada on the tacos Is very hard and the taco salad is like soup and saggy. The waitress or waiter Diana didn't even check on us how's our food or if we need another drink ... Sad part is they're not even busy. She's just concentrating on talking to the people on one other table... Too bad ... I really like the place and what's worst is it's my husbands birthday and him bitching all night is the worst. We won't come back sorry... For as long as I have been going down to Laughlin, this place has boasted about the .99 cent ham and eggs. It seems so unrealistic but yet it's a decent breakfast you would get at most coffee shops for the small fee of .99 cents. In recent years it has changed, however, it used to be you could always 24/7 as this restaurant is always open go in there and order the .99 ham and eggs. Not so much anymore. Now, that make sure you have you have your Avi Advantage card before allowing you to order it. Not a big deal as everyone at our table had already received their new card. It was comical that our drinks coffee and soda totaled a great deal more that, the four orders of the ham and eggs. It's nice now that they have the smoking and non smoking areas. Again, it's all one big area but at least you don't have someone blowing smoke in your face while you're trying to eat. Tasty and quick service even when it's a full house (oops, I guess that's a bit of a pun) in there. I'll be back. read more

My sis and I came to Avi's to go to their buffet, which was half priced that night. As a result, the line was a little crazy, over a half hour wait, and we were going to be catching a movie soon, so we had to pass up the buffet and so we decided to go here. I must share some confidential information. They have an unadvertised special. It's awesome! You have a choice of soup or salad. The main entree is half a rotisserie chicken (which is a LOT of chicken for one!) For the sides you get baked beans, corn on the cob, and a slice of cornbread. And as a dessert you get apple or cherry pie. It was $5.99 if I remember correctly, which is a steal for what you get! The portions and quality of the food is very good. Service was friendly and prompt. It's a good looking cafe too with a nice american indian motif. From the other things I saw on the menu, they have a lot of great choices, and many other good deals. The whole AVI experience has been going down hill recently. Tonight finished it for me. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and this is what they sent to the table. I have been getting them for over a year and was always satisfied and was looking forward to having one tonight. Carrie my favorite server brought this disgusting mess. She took it back and the cook (?) said he could put bell peppers on it but would have to charge extra. The Buffett used to be good but about 6 months ago it went South quick. On two occasions the main choice at the Carving Station was either grilled hamburgers or grilled hot dogs. This was on Thursday night, their two for one night. Still, hamburgers or hot dogs for $13.? This place is pretty decent for what it is....I've been here for breakfast and dinner and both times it was fairly empty and we were seated immediately. Basic menu and what you would expect for a small casino cafe. The only thing I've had is the fried chicken dinner. $9.99 for four pieces, with two sides which is a pretty good deal. The fried chicken is extremely crunchy and seasoned well. The mashed potatoes and gravy is hit or miss. This last time, the gravy was like eating spoonfuls of salt. The veggie mix it comes with is very basic. Also got the carne asada fries this time. Pretty good, with the exception of the shredded lettuce on top...seemed a bit out of place on fries. Hubby loves the Black Forest cake. Prices are very reasonable and if you're gambling, you can likely get the meal comped. Walked in with 40 mins to spare and they were only doing take out so we asked for the menu and the hostess looked at us rudely for wanting to order. She left for a couple minutes only to come back and tell us she would not take our order because she apparently only had two servers but why would you need servers for a to go order? She continued to tell us she would not take our order and walked away after talking back to her. Having family in the restaurant business we understand and we were trying to be as understanding as possible but we were unfortunately met with a very rude person. Usually when I stay at Avi this is my main source of food and I will eat here for all my meals. Its inside the hotel and it's cheap. When I was here this past weekend I stuck to getting the Two Eggs, Any Style breakfast which is $4.99 with the Advantage Player's Card. It used to be $.99 back in the day but it has gone up. Still not too bad. I get my eggs scrambled, hash browns, the ham, which is a thick slice, and wheat bread. All items are really good. In the evening I ordered the tilapia with rice pilaf, veggies and a salad. This was really good too. The ice water here tastes a little funny sometimes, its a hit or miss. If you have a Veteran's player card you get free coffee which is a nice perk if you're a Vet AND a coffee addict like me! Most waiters and waitresses are friendly here but then there are a few that seem to hate their jobs. I really liked Brandy and Stephanie. Brandy was the best waitress we had - she had a big table but checked up on us, even if it was just a "I will be with you in a minute"... one of my biggest pet peeves in customer service is when someone doesn't stop to acknowledge you. I understand if people have their hands full but just acknowledge that you see us. And she did just that. And Stephanie was so nice to talk to. They are open 24 hours and you can order food to go. I didn't have the dessert here but my husband said the hot fudge brownie was AMAZING. I kind of regret not having a bite.... My friend and I stayed at Avi Resort and Casino hotel and decided to just get breakfast somewhere in the hotel before taking off. We came to Feathers Cafe at around 10 a.m. I saw that they had some specials on their breakfasts for a really cheap price. I should have known that this meant very cheap and low-quality breakfast foods. I ordered a hot chocolate, two eggs with hash browns and rye toast. I got the hot chocolate right away and it was in a small coffee cup with whipped cream piled on top. I went to drink it and realized that the small cup was only filled half way with hot chocolate. The other half of the cup was filled with whipped cream and even more whipped cream piled on top of the cup. I had to get rid of some of the cream just to drink my hot chocolate. Not worth the price I paid for it since the drink tasted basically like very sweet powered hot chocolate. The whipped cream just made it too sweet and I couldn't finish it. Let me say now that I have a sweet tooth but couldn't even finish this drink. Next, my meal came. The only thing that was worth eating was the eggs. The hash browns were so mushy that it was kind of gross. When the texture of the food is not right or if the food does not seem to be cooked properly, I am the type of person who has trouble eating it. I only ate the top part of my hash brown that was burnt. The middle and bottom were basically watery potato mush. The toast was soaked in butter. I mean, I like butter but I also like my bread. There's a problem when you pick up your toast and it's soggy from butter and only tastes like butter. My friend was going to ask our server for toast with no butter but we had trouble finding her. We ate about half of our meals since we were hungry. We accepted the fact that since this place had pretty cheap food that this is what we get for a $5 breakfast. This was the worst PLACE EVER! I have never waited as long as I did at this restaurant. We politely asked the manager when our orders would be taken and we still had to wait for over an hour. THE food was cold and not worth it. WHEN we FINALLY got our orders taken the server said he was unaware that no one had taken our order despite us asking three times.
