Typical diner food, but a lot tastier than expected. The fries were crispy and hot, and the quality and presentation of the dinner salad was much better than fancy SF restaurants. The taco salad I had was ok, if you like canned refried beans. Overall the service and food was ok, however, when the bill came, the drink prices were all raised by a dollar. The Long Island Iced Tea (menu price $7.50) was on our bill for $8.50. When I complained to the server, he sent the manager over. She proceeded to tell us that they were in the process of updating their menus, and that the price on our receipt was actually the correct price, and that then menu price was incorrect. My response "I don't mean to be difficult, but those drinks were not even worth $7.50, let alone $8.50, and the fact that your menus are not current was not our problem, but rather theirs." I went to grab 2 pieces of pie to go after our night of fun and even with that there were issues. I asked a nice lady if they had the pie I wanted I was informed yes. I ordered and then waited, I paid and waited, I listened to the hostess I ordered from and her friend talk about how hard working was and I waited. We went to the Feathers Cafe for dinner because it was in the hotel. We ordered the Saimin Noodle soup which is a ramen style dish. Soup was tasty but the brought this tiny soup spoon to eat it with and no chop sticks. When we inquired with the server she said that's all we give you. Other meals were just so so. Excellent food with nice decor. My husband and I (yes, we're weird) notice beautiful southwestern decor and Feathers doesn't disappoint. The colors are soothing and the attention to detail from the upholstery to the light fixtures is pleasing. My husband dabbles with his plasma cutter and replicated some metal feathers the restaurant had on display a few years ago. They compliment our own southwestern decor. Everything we've had on the menu is excellent. I particularly like their french toast for breakfast. They add the perfect amount of cinnamon to the bread. The burgers are our favorite lunch choice. The wait staff is excellent. I wish I could remember the name of the gentlemen who waited on us recently. He was charming, engaging, and quite handsome. My sister and I enjoyed breakfast here so much on Wednesday we returned on Thursday. Our server was friendly and prompt, and the food was delicious. On Wednesday I had eggs, hashbrowns, toast and bacon -- all delicious. On Thursday I had "this little piggy" not realizing it came with ALL forms of pork products; ham, bacon and sausage. As a smoker, I can't tell you how good it is to sit down to a nice cup of spiked coffee and then light up. *sigh* heaven... Methinksnot. But instead I ordered some hot tea to help me get my voice back and a coffee with a shot of baileys. A mimosa and some cold water. Don't judge me!!! Shit, I'm on vay-cay-shun!! :P After all my cups and pitchers and shots were delievered to my table I ordered the chicken fried steak with a couple of medium eggs, hashbrowns and a nice lil biscuit. My cousin ordered a chicken sandwich with some chicken strips and a chocolate shake. It was from their pick three menu. The eggs were the best eggs I've ever had! i was blown away! Over my trip, I ate here probably four times, it was very good and we never had a bad experience that had anything to do with the staff anyway. I noticed that the snowbirds were full of dirty looks. My wife and I had Thanksgiving Dinner at your restaurant. We had the Thanksgiving meal. It was one of the worst meals that we have had in a long time. The service was very slow and the restaurant was far from busy. We had the White and Dark meat with this meal. The Dark meat was not thoroughly cooked, and was still raw in the middle. The White meat was so tuff that I could hardly cut it with the knife provided. The Rolls were cold from the refrigerator. My wife mentioned the condition of the Dark meat to the waiter and she so Oh!!! The meal cost $ 22.81. We could have had a better meal at Mac Donnalds I have told all my acquaintences about this meal. I will not return to your restaurant!! Kermit Wright Casa Grande , Az. My fiance asked her about different choices on skillets and she took the time to explain all the different ingredients and which would work best for his big appetite as well... Server Carlos is so rude!! Came in with a my boyfriend & a couple of friends tonight & ordered a chicken cob salad with NO blue cheese, I asked for ranch on the side. When the order came there was blue cheese all over my salad, I had told our server Carlos that I asked for no blue cheese & he was snippy about it saying I never asked for none & gave my boyfriend & I attitude. First of all I work in the food industry & that's not how you talk to a guest.. Also, he's rude to other workers. The 2 guys that were helping him serve we're getting attitude from him. We come to feathers everytime were here at the Avi & we only have bad service when he's our server (we had him twice last year). I only have one word....RENE! RENE, female food server on the graveyard shift. Rude, nasty, miserable. I came in late last night looking for some soup. I wasn't feeling well. I asked her if I could try a small sample of the chicken noodle soup before ordering some. Just a tiny bit. She left my table, clearly annoyed, without saying a word. She came back, with a little plastic cup, the kind they put salad dressing on the side in. it contained nothing but the broth, not a speck of chicken, vegetable, or noodle. She dropped it on my table, and walked away. When I tried to get her attention, to ask her if this was what was in the soup, nothing but broth, she ignored me and walked away. Another waiter came along, profusely apologized for her nasty behavior, and brought me a small sample of the soup, that was representative of its ingredients. By this time, my appetite had been ruined. I left, and nobody even noticed that I was leaving. I was never offered a beverage. Tribal Council, PLEASE I hope you will read this review, and take it under consideration. I have been treated EXTREMELY well by the rest of your staff, from valet, to front desk, to the buffet, to Moonshadows, to the housekeeping staff. Rene is not representative of the hospitality that is reflected throughout your resort. I have eaten at Feathers during the day shift, without incident. I don't believe she is capable of conveying the warm welcome that you are striving to provide your guests. I'm giving this place two stars instead of one because of the only employee in this place worth a crap (the lady with the long blonde ponytail) and the decent food. The blonde employee was very nice, but the remainder of the employees in this place deserve zero stars. Our first night here we walked in and ordered a piece of pie, to go. The nice blonde lady assisted us, including taking payment and giving us a receipt. We were literally two of maybe 5 people in the place. As we were leaving with or order, receipt in hand, the lady at the front yelled PAY...PAY...! I turned around, wondering who she was speaking to, and she yelled again ARE YOU GOING TO PAY?? I told her we already paid, and weren't trying to rip them off for $3.99. Ridiculous! On our second night here we decided to eat dinner here as the food looked pretty good, also thinking "mistakes happen" in regards to the employee the night before. The food was actually pretty good, however, the employees need some very serious customer service training. They walked around like expressionless zombies. Our waitress said something to me, which I didn't understand, as she was mumbling, and I asked her 3 times to repeat herself. I ordered chicken, and she kept saying something along the lines of "boiled..."? Come to find out she was saying "pollo". Why, I don't know. She was super rude, then suddenly when the bill came she became sickeningly friendly - I guess she thought her tip was on the line at that point. Our drinks were never refilled. We ordered another dessert to go, the same pie we ordered the night before, which was "peach cobbler ala mode". The waitress asked if we wanted ice cream. I believe "ala mode" implies ice cream, but whatever. We got our bill, and she charged us an additional $2 for the ice cream, that was supposed to come with the pie automatically (states that on the menu). At this point it wasn't worth arguing, as we just wanted to leave. It's a shame the employees seem to not give two craps about their jobs, as the food is pretty good (especially the peach cobbler). Helpful tips: Watch your bill carefully, keep your ears wide open when the waitress/waiter mumbles at you, and keep your receipt handy when exiting for proof of payment. read more
