Rude 911 dispatcher purposely ignored my noise complaint…read more I was woken up at 4:30am in the morning because a group of loitering squatters were sitting on the street talking loudly and obnoxiously from obviously too much alcohol on Cartwright Rd in Honolulu. After the first call (male voice dispatcher) a patrol car drove by them, the group simply moved further up the street and once the cop car left the scene, they were back at it. Loud and belligerent! The second time I called the 911 dispatcher (different voice lady) was rude to me and asked me if I wanted to meet a patrol car downstairs regarding the obnoxious drunk group of young people. "Why can't they send another patrol car to ask the group to leave!" Of course the 911 dispatcher never called for another patrol car. I guess this is the kind of government service that we pay so much in taxes for which is lousy. Who cares if law abiding citizens who work everyday and pay high taxes for the rail can't go to sleep due to inconsiderate drunks. Worse is when the government service 911 dispatcher is rude to you on the phone and never calls for a patrol car. I am appalled in this matter!

They have walk-in appointments every weekday morning from 7-8 and usually it's empty. (You can always call 808-842-2062 to confirm.) The office is located on the second floor and you can park in the little Exchange lot right by the gate. Just follow the signs and write your information on the log list at the podium. (Make sure you have all your documents with you before you visit!) Everyone there is very friendly and professional. All the equipment is in the ID room and you won't even need to stand for a picture. Even on a slow computer day, you'll have a new ID in just a few minutes. (Just don't share the secret too much, since it's nice not having to wait!)

Appointments start at 0800 but the place opens at 0700. So if you're smart and you didn't make an appointment on RAPIDS; be there when the door opens or else as a walk in you'll be seen between appointments. And if you do have an appointment make sure to come about an hour early. Why? Keep reading. They only have one processing machine that makes the cards so if that breaks down well you can enjoy the nice lounge they have before driveway home mad. It's expected they only have one machine since the base is relatively small, compared to JBPPH's dozen machines. Getting there from Nimitz, on sand island road is a long drive. Tip: stay on the right side lane early in the morning. The Matson big rigs make left turn into their warehouses. I like this place but only four stars because parking sucks. If you paid attention, I wrote the base is small. The only open parking lot is shared with the mini mart and their stalls are marks with a 20 min time limit. Too bad you can't make an appointment for a parking stall. Hint hint. M

We always come with pastries or some kind of treat for the guys. We definitely appreciate all their hard work! Like I was saying, we've been to a couple of the stations on island and this one is not the worst and not the best. What I do know is this is one of the few stations where HAZMAT crews are stationed at. Pretty basic, kitchen, common, dorm and I believe the workout area is shared with the police station.
