FedEx distribution center for the Ladson area is the most God awful service providers. They do not deliver to your door. I told the male delivery driver before he left I could not lift the package alone up 3 flight of stairs and he simply said he can't either and left me to do it alone. Thank God for the maintenance guy he offered to help. They always deliver our packages at the bottom of the stairs and driving from the complex fast not watching for children or animals. And oh God don't order anything fragile, it will be broken up before you receive it. I have never received my package that they took pictures of and delivered to the wrong place. One package I called the merchant to tell them the stand was broken in several places and they asked me to print the label and they will have FedEx pick it up, well the guy knocked on my door and asked if I had a husband to help him take it downstair. My response was you delivered it broken so I guess you can try sliding it down the stairs because I live alone here sir. Yesterday, I was expecting a package and received notification that the package was out for delivery. I saw 3 FedEx trucks come through here and none of them delivered my package. So now I had to call China and Japan to complain about my package in Ladson SC and no you can't be transferred to a supervisor or a local center to speak with anyone. The notification earlier stated the package was out for delivery and after seeing the trucks go by the update stated they never received the package and an attempt was not made. Just horrible service and no accountability. Service nowadays is horrible with FedEx. If I could leave no stars I would. Bad business FedEx. I received notice that my package would be delivered on 1/22 between 10:20am and 12:20pm so I made it a point to be home and was there for the rest of the day. At 5:05pm I received a text saying FedEx had tried to deliver my package at 4:48pm. This is a bald-faced lie as I was sitting within sight of the door all afternoon. You'd think monday they'd deliver it. Nope! It's now monday, the following week later and still nothing! I have had issues with this site multiple times. They say no one was home to accept the package. 2 days in a row. My wife and I were home all day waiting. We had a driver stop and say it was on another truck he would be back with it. They never came and claimed to attempt. No attempt was made. When we called FEdEx about it they gave us the run around. I paid for 2 day shipping and now they say I'll get it the next day again. They are not attempting to fix the issue. I even offered to drive there and get it. My package was lost at this FedEx Location. FedEx driver pulled up on the 16th at my residence. She looked in her truck, and said it is telling me your package is in my truck, but I don't see it. She said they must have not loaded it. I'll probably be back tomorrow with it. Two days later it still says that it is at the Ladson location and has not changed status. I have not heard anything from them or the driver. I needed these items for my vacation next week and now I will probably have to reorder. This place needs to do better. Some companies will not refund easily, and it's a battle getting refunded plus it's just plain inconvenient. read more

FedEx has no way to personally contact their distribution centers, Ladson being one of them. I have had emergency medical supplies rescheduled 2 times. Now it states that the package was delivered. I have looked extensively through the exterior of my home and it is no where to be found. I called FedEx immediately after the notification came on my phone. Trying to make them understand every minute they don't contact the driver he gets further away. The main number says it is "escalated". It has been 4 hours and not 1 phone call. Emergency medical supplies are not something that you can pick up from a normal store. This is not a pair of tennis shoes. This is equipment for my life! The lack of ability to get the distribution center to find the driver and my equipment is not a moment of good service. This is the worst service I have ever received. I highly recommend using a different shipping method if you need a product desperately. I have also forgotten to mention that the package has been rescheduled for the last 2 days. I would never use fedex if I didn't have To. The delivery driver was supposed to bring a package that required signature. Well instead of actually making the delivery and knocking on door to get a signature They just stuck a slip in my mailbox and said to sign slip and the package would be delivered the next day. I ordered hardwood from Builddirect.com The pallet shipment information sent to FedEx Whittier, CA on 08/23/2019. FedEx did not pick up until 08/30 and pallet sit in Whittier warehouse until 09/06/2019 and transit to Kent, WA. I tracked the shipment (it took me 3 hours to locate the shipment) then I have to call around and schedule for delivery. Long story short I paid for FedEx freight charge and ( 6 - 8 days was guaranteed). Now it has been 20 days I am still waiting to receive my hardwood. I order hardwood from Builddirect a lots without any problem. This is the first time their ship via FedEx. The worst (& only worst) shipping service I've ever dealt with. Over and over I try to pay for express to have faster, important deliveries, when they just reschedule for their convenience. 2 day shipments taking 3+ EXTRA days with either a "rescheduled" comment on my tracking or a false, made up, 'could not deliver' bologna for no said reason. They will wait til it is delivered days later, then email me saying oh it was delivered today. No crap. I never have any issue with UPS. I have notified the companies I regularly order from about the issue hoping someday they will change carriers. I'd rather pay to be able to NOT use fedex G/ex in the Ladson, SC area. Fedex ground arrived with my $1000.00 violin bow the young lady acted as though she had an attitude and stood it on the ground and let it fall before I could grab it. She saw it fall and just kept walking knowing I was there to take it from her. I'm very glad it was packed very well. I also realize that FEDEX GROUND people are usually contractors ,that is they work for someone that owns several trucks leased to FEDEX and they are hired to deliver. Usually with no benefits and they are over worked. Perhaps if FEDEX would make them full-time employees with benefits they would have a better attitude towards the customers and their job. You don't see this kind of problems with UPS who has full-time employees with benefits. We have a great respect for those people that work hard in the transportation industry. I would like to elevate their Daniel Island delivery driver to a status of 'functional illiterate'. But, unfortunately, he's only half that. Illiterate. Not functional. For the umpteenth time we have a package showing as delivered but not here. Maybe this time it will take a neighbor a week to deliver it to the correct address, maybe a day or maybe never. We've experienced all three. The local fedex office gave me a direct, local customer service number to call after the first failure. When I tried using it, no one answered. Nice way to handle a complaint. Use a non-answered line as the customer service number. Apparently, at least on Daniel Island, the address on the box is simply a 'suggestion'. The goal is to empty the truck no matter where the package ends up. Obviously, the American educational system failed this driver. But, not to worry, he's fully employable at FedEx regardless of his inability to tell a '5' from a '6' or distinguish a street that starts with a 'B' from a street that starts with a 'S'. read more

Only reason they get 1 star is because I had to give at least 1 star in order to give the review. This is the worst FedEx facility I've ever had to deal with. The driver rode around for days with the tracking info saying pending delivery, then the driver manually updated the shipment without actually scanning the package (indicating to me he lost or stole it) as delivered days prior to when it was showing delivery pending and also lied about what time he claims he delivered it, not just lied about the date. They are AWFUL!!!!! And when you call the 1 800 number the reps only have access to the same info tracking provides. Finally got the number to the Ladson facility and they say none there can help me, have to go through the reps at the 1 800 number. Horrible service, horrible drivers, horrible experience any time we get stuck with them as our shipper. As consumers when we make purchases on line we should be allowed to choose the shipper. When I get tracking updates that show it was shipped with FedEx I cringe every time. When it ships FedEx smartpost via the Hanahan FedEx facility (delivered to local post office for me to pick up) I feel a little better about it because for some reason they don't mess up the smart posts shipments nearly as often as the regular FedEx ground shipments coming from Ladson. Probably because they're real FedEx trucks and drivers instead of these independent contractors driving around in the yellow Penske rental trucks or Ryder rental trucks!!!!
