This location on Guadalupe is quite compact but very efficient. I appreciate the Scan and Go counter that lets me get in and out in a minute when I'm just dropping off a package. I spent 15 minutes waiting in line at the UPS Store to ship an eBay item and only about 1 minute of that time was actually needed for the transaction. Counter staff is friendly too. I have had 1000s of packages delivered or shipped through the years and trust me when I say FedEx is the worst hands down. They all (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc) make mistakes due to human factor, but Fedex's system is inherently broken. They FREQUENTLY fail to deliver on time, almost always without explanation. This is to say nothing of the frequently mangled packages that look like they've seen battle. When something goes wrong, and trust me it inevitably will, you get to experience the joy of their automated phone system which is literally a giant labrynth of prerecorded messages that all lead to the same destination, hanging up on you. Have you ever been hung up on by a computer? Call FedEx now and see for yourself. Nothing and I mean nothing has made me feel more helpless and angry as a customer then waiting for an important package, it not arriving and no explanation or estimation of when it will, only to get hung up on repeatedly by their facade customer service which is more like a punishment. If you finally lie and say you want to setup an account, you'll get a surly human that will make you wish for the heartless automated system again. I cringe when I see FexEx is delivering. Listen to me when I say - FedEx is the WORST delivery service and not by a little. They should go out of business, but also should be investigated by Federal Trade Commission for frequently failing to deliver (no pun intended) on what they promise. Was here a few times to take some urgent prints. Wanted to use a workstation first, they have a few working machines towards the back of the store. I was looking for a help with the machine, but the guys at the counter were hardly responsive. They pretended that they were busy assisting the customers. We patiently waited till they served all the customers and asked the guy. Response was too cold. He disinterestedly told to log out and try. That didn't work. When I approached the counter again, he hurriedly walked to the back office as if he's busy. We had to go back and then copy the stuff to a thumb drive. Printing was easy with that. Without anyone's help we took the prints. Store and amenities are good, but service is terrible! read more

This is my second review for this site but that's necessary because sometimes things and/or people change. I actually designed and ordered some postcards through Canva, but there were a few problems. A FedEx store associate, Leesha (not sure how to spell that) was a super helpful problem solver. Between us we figured out the problem and I was able to order the cards, which were immediately printed! Because of Leesha's help not only did I save substantially on great looking postcards (for a gallery art show, so appearance is important) but they were ready the same day! (I wasn't!) At 8:30 pm I get the notification that my package was back at the warehouse. I paid extra for shipping. I needed that package before we left. Everyone working here is perfectly pleasant - I just come here to print things when I don't have access to a printer, and it's cheap, but way too complicated. FedEx's website is stuck in the 90s, which the employees don't have any control over, but it drives me nuts. I just need to print out one page for 17 cents, do you really need me to create a full account and go through 20 steps of creating a project? The do-it-yourself kiosk didn't work. Then the QR codes I had didn't work. Nothing worked so Penny & Tina had to re-enter ALL information for all 33 packages I had entered into the system. That took a lot of effort on their part & they were so very nice about helping me. I was most frustrated with the poor kiosk experience but these ladies turned my frown upside down & took care of business manually. Their attitudes were nothing short of impeccably professional & they assured me that I was not inconveniencing them - that they were there to help. This worker wouldn't check the machine I used not 20 minutes ago before they closed to see if the credit card I used was left in the printer. I didn't ask him to open the door, just check for credit card- or at least tried to, but he would't get his head out of his ass for one second to listen. Just ignored the situation. The crazy part is that he's so unhelpful that he goes to the trouble to walk to the door to give a customer a look, but won't listen and look to the left and see if the credit card is in the machine, which is all I was asking for. read more

The single star is, sadly, for weak customer service. FedEx has made it easier to do business with them online and damn near impossible to get an answer from a sales associate standing around wanting something to do so her job in the store is less mind numbing. I called to check price on getting them to print a 300pp document and the poor woman who answered the phone told me that she was "not authorized to give a price for a large document." So, a couple copies is 13c per page, but there's a price break hanging around out there and if you download the file to them (!) they'll cut you a deal. "Yes, we have a way to calculate that but I'm not authorized to quote it on the phone." Machine pricing is allowed. But the human? She has no ability to do that on the phone. She cannot do a simple task to please a customer. FedEx says: do it online and try to minimize the human element. Do with that what you will. I choose to print elsewhere, and continue to ship there under duress. What's sad is that Kinkos was consistently a 4-1/2* place before they were bought out. This fedex has a good location, on the drag just north of UT campus. It's definitely more expensive than printing at home but if you need to print an excess amount of pages then fedex will serve you well. This store specifically is clean, has good parking and has a very accompanying staff. Also, print on the go makes it easy to be in and out. read more

Aside from Misdirection, one of the employees decided that yelling - at me - was a good method to 'solve the buildup' of persons, (entering the store) who had decided - while there is enough room & (i would hope) mental capicitence to DISCERN : there are two lines, waiting JUST INSIDE the door, will lead to more persons either (congregating) waiting outside or building up where they stand. Easily offering to assist anyone else would suffice. I got exactly what I came for. Needed to get a few documents onto my computer either via fax or scan. The PC was cheaper so I went with that. Reasonable prices ($0.35/minute) and got it done right. It would be nice if they allowed the use of some higher end functionality for these tasks. There are plenty of copiers that will let you fax/scan several pages at once, so that would be cool if you could just do that and have it email to you. But it's easier to make you do it yourself, not invest in that equipment, and charge $8 for use of the PC. read more

An employee directed me to the "do it yourself" section, which was pretty cool. Put your credit card in, log in to your email, and print in color. 30 seconds later, presto! This is for Fed Ex in general. I've only been out here in Texas for about a year. Recently when I ordered 2 things that unfortunately were being delivered by FedEx were completely screwed up. My packages were delivered to the wrong address in the wrong complex both times. One package I was able to reach the driver before he left in a parking lot across from me and showed where he supposedly delivered to me and I showed him right where I live and his response was, I l delivered it and oh well. My neighbor helped me find my package at the other complex behind us. The driver bold faced lied to me and said to call FedEx. That's exactly what I did and I lit up the supervisor I spoke to like a Christmas tree! I've had bad experiences in the past in the other state I moved from only to have my experiences out here in Texas to be worse! They are horrible and I will never order on line again. Especially if I see that FedEx will be handling my expected packages. From this point on I will be having things shipped to the store I get it from so I can pick it up myself. Do not use FedEx they don't care about the customers they deliver to and they hire incompetent drivers who can care less. They need to be put out of business. Go UPS. I've had far less issues with them. And they get your address right. FedEx should be ashamed, not to mention they need to hire people who speak English when handling matters over the phone! read more

You're here to send something, make copies, use the internetz, shred or do 100 other boring tasks that are part of "being an adult." Since all the post offices were closed I had to resort to FedEx This service was fine, generally friendly (although the dude with the eyeliner was a little bit too affected for my taste) but what was really surprising what the fact that the price for sending my packages, both under 1/2 pound, came to a whopping total of over $20 for the slowest speed available, no signature, no guarantee of delivery or tracking. They need more help at this location. I called to get a quote on printing a piece of paper on foamcore and they said it was five bucks. I submitted it online and put special instructions and for the size, just a simple eight and half by 11 horizontal on foam core. When I came to pick it up he gave it to me to approve and I told him the resolution was terrible. He said it probably was just the image that I sent. I would've loved if they would've called me when I got the artwork and let me know that instead of printing it and then charging me for something I'm going to throw away now. And when I showed my displeasure with it he acted like it was no big deal and just kept moving along to rush me out of there because there was 1 million things going on and everyone seemed too busy. Got awkward stuff to ship? Okay, they don't have the boxes to ship anything TOO awkward-- the over 6' long rear carpet from a Porsche 944 was a no. Wheels? Interior door upholstery? Something that for odd reason *isn't* off a Porsche, but you don't have a box for or don't want to pack anyway? Shoot, it's usually even cheaper to drop off something here than it is to try and guess how heavy it is and drop it in the mail on my own. I'm knee-deep in a LeMons car build, and the late-night staff is pretty forgiving and helpful with all the random heavy 944 bits. I haven't used much else in the shop aside from something I had to fax once. I think I had to wait a little while to get some help with that, but that was in the middle of the afternoon and I'm angrier that faxes aren't obsolete than I was to have a short wait. Useful place. The team at the Guadelupe location are in the heart of the university. I'm in this store every week or two, and it's baffling to see how a business can fail in so many ways. There are usually about five employees on duty, but no one has a clue on how to work the shipping counter and cash register. If there are more than two customers in the store at the same time, the entire place falls apart. Today, five employees were trying to help three customers. It was sad to watch. A man who I presume to be a manager closes his station at the shipping counter to take a personal phone call. Once he senses that the people in line are now peeved at this, he takes the phone around the corner behind a cabinet to talk for another 4-5 minutes rather than hanging up and assisting customers. Every time I visit this store, it's worse and worse. It's time to get a new manager - this is a top-down problem. No one is trained, no one can work the equipment and computers, and the employees just don't care. I'm finding a new shipping service. read more

USE THEIR ONLINE PRINTING SYSTEM AT YOUR PERIL!!! AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL! PS/ "Yelp" wouldn't let me just give them one star, but that's what they deserve. As a broke student teacher who can't afford a printer, I thought my prayers had been answered when I discovered that I could send print orders to kinkos from my computer. I soon discovered just how wrong I was. I have lost count of the times Kinkos have messed my order up. Their "employees" (if that's what you can call a bunch of losers who just hang about doing nothing) are supposed to check your order before handing it over to you. In fact, not only are they supposed to check it, but they are also supposed to check a box on your order saying that they've checked it. Every time I've gone there, that box has been checked, yet every time something is missing or messed up, thus proving that those lazy assholes just check that box whether they've looked your order over or not. I can't begin to express just how much trouble their laziness has caused me. I've had to hand in assignments late because I turned up expecting to have my work ready, only for Kinkos to have messed it up. On one very memorable occasion, my order wasn't even written in English. It was just a bunch of weird symbols, and gobbledegook. They said that the files I had sent them were corrupted, but even if this was the case (I doubt it), if someone had checked my order over, they would surely have realized that no-one in their right mind would print out hundreds of pages of nonsense. They could have alerted me to the mistake before I turned up for my order. On this occasion, the manager agreed to give me a refund, and I even got an automatic email from their system telling me that my refund had been processed! But there was NO REFUND! God knows what happened to it. Just half an hour ago, I tried yet again to send them an online print order, and their stupid system told me that there was an error with their website, and that I should try to pay for my order again. I did so, and the assholes took my payment twice! I haven't even got a confirmation email from them telling me they have received my order, so it looks like I just paid TWICE for nothing. No doubt I will have to spend hours on the phone with their customer service people to fix this out. If you're wondering why I keep on going back to Kinkos after all this trouble, well, it's because I have no other option until I buy myself a printer. In a nutshell: Kinkos is only for the desperadoes of this world who don't own a printer. If you have something important to print out, I would advise you to print it out the day before you need it because this Kinkos store will mess your order up and cause you no end of stress. read more
