There's a huge statewide scam being run out of this office. TEXAS UCC STATEMENT SERVICE. An envelope was included with this exact address, suite 406, unit 315. They sent an unofficial statement request form pretending to be the government, asking to send $90, and listed our tax refund company (who verified that it was a scam) as the requestor. The website domain listed doesn't work either. RED FLAGS all over the letter and envelope. There is definitely a huge scam being run out of this location. BEWARE. I will be reporting this scam to the feds, as well. read more

It's ok. That's where I'd draw the line right now. My wife came home after being quoted $30 to ship a water bottle back to the manufacturer. Based on that quote, she had decided not to return it. I needed to have household goods packed, insured, and shipped to Virginia. Ramki did it all, including having a wooden crate built for a 6 ft. grandfather clock. I've been using Pak Mail for all my mail/package sending for the last few years since moving in the area, but also the offered notary services with Joel are A+ Joel is always professional, knowledgeable, and very thorough in reading and making sure that all forms are properly filled out before notarizing. He has been very helpful in trying times that required notary services. He and the rest of the staff are also super helpful and determined to help send out anything that needs to be shipped and done very safely even if it's odd shaped or very important/precious. I understand a proprietor needs to make a profit, but charging $16 for a flat rate padded envelope shipment that costs less than $8 at USPS and charging $8 for a small parcel that costs $3.75 at the USPS is price gouging. Slow process of putting in an order and somewhat bland customer service. If you're going to charge 110% more than the post office you should be much more efficient and easier to work with. Also they're relentless about taking down all your info - mailing address, email, and phone which screams spam alert even though it was sold as "post 911 protocol". I'd rather deal with the annoyances of the USPS and save over half of my money than get gouged like this. I can see a 50% markup, but not 110%+. There are other shipping shops around town and I've never paid nearly as much of a markup before. The owner clearly is proud of his biz and I can appreciate that as a fellow small biz owner, but the pricing and efficiency should be re-evaluated or else the extreme price variance is voiding out the small convenience and personal touch value add. read more

He treated my mother terribly because she did not want to spend $70 on shipping - he was mad he had to look up alternative options. Every time I visit, I walk away irritated. The owner never seems pleased to have to deal with me. The options for shipping are somehow always vastly more expensive than places down the road. And if you talk to him about options and don't take his recommendation, he gets clearly irritated. If there were more options close by, I wouldn't even consider going in. read more

I've been a PO box customer for over two years at this location. I have a for profit ranching outfit and am constantly ordering online items which is why I secured this box and postal receipt service they offer. They sold me on their ability to have in person receipt of my items for me and the leisure to pick up when I can. A service that runs well over $200 per year, but worth it to me.....used to be. Today I was told two letter packs were going to cost me $5 to pick up. I was on vacation so hadn't been by in over a week. I was told that I was sent an email, that they charge now for anything left over a few days without pickup. I questioned how they could change a policy like that on me in the middle of my contract and was told it's their right to do so. Well, it's also my right to go elsewhere with my business. Here's the really sweet part for Joel, the owner, I asked for a pro-rated refund and that I would go down the road and secure a PO box elsewhere and was told no - no refunds. Nice for Joel to provide a service without any fee for over 2 years then try to charge all of the sudden - probably to get folks to walk so he can re-sell their boxes? Proceed with caution. Oh - I also spent hundreds on shipping with them but that doesn't seem to matter as much as charging me for a couple packages sitting on a backroom shelf for a few days. read more

I needed verification of ID for an employer and called and spoke to Joel to explain that my employer would be emailing some documents to them to verify (not I9). He gave me the email (printing@weshipaustin.com) and after my employer emailed the doc, I called Joel back to confirm that he had the paperwork and he confirmed. I explained that I would be in the following day. The next morning, before leaving my home, I called the store to let them know that I was coming in and the staff working said they didn't have the document and it wasn't in the Inbox. I called my employer back and they resent the doc and then I called the store back to confirm they now had the 2nd copy emailed. The male employee confirmed, yes, he had the doc. I was driving in from Georgetown so I let them know I would be by in a couple of hours. When I arrived, unbelievably, the guy that I spoke to (male, dark curly hair, 20's) tells me he doesn't have the document. He explains that he doesn't know where it went? This was an email - so I asked him to please look in the trash folder if it wasn't appearing in the Inbox. He was totally incompetent and offered no explanation as to what happened to my 2nd document that earlier he confirmed that they had. Absolutely unacceptable! Worst customer service! I will never take my business to this establishment again. read more

On 01-10-18 my daughter in law went into Pak Mail Anderson Mill shipping store in Austin, TX to ship a notebook computer to me. They charged her $119.24 for UPS ground shipping for 7.5 lbs. She had requested that they double box it for safety, they did, they used a 20x16x8" carton. They charged $17.39 plus tax for this shipping carton and then charged another $20.00 for insurance. The shipping carton is commonly available for $5.00. Upon receipt I looked up the actual UPS charge for this size and weight shipping carton with insurance. The UPS store charge would have been $45.53. Pak Mail Anderson Mill charged $119.24 for the same service. Upon examining on line reviews I see that I am not alone, others have had similar issues. My concern is that some customers may not be aware of the excessive profits being made off them. I simply want to warn potential customers to do their homework before you become another casualty. Joel, in response to your comment, i used the UPS calculator and the charge was based on VOLUME, weight on my Detecto scale and insurance. Your box was not large enough to make the 24 lb category. I own a business, I ship over a thousand packages a year and have so for 30 years. My facts are dead accurate, yours a rip off. I told my daughter to ship at your crazy price simply to save her time. read more

I visited here yesterday for the first time. I'm sure many people come here as an alternative to the USPS location nearby. The USPS location has the very worst in parking and customer service. It's not worth it, especially on your lunch break. Enough about them, though. I met Joel at the counter and he is friendly, informative and efficient. I called about mailing a fragile gift to a cousin overseas. The clerk told me it would be nearly $700 to ship, so she recommended I try the USPS. I thanked her and said I'd come in to have it professionally packed by Pak Mail to make sure it wouldn't get destroyed. I went in and spoke to the same woman who packed it for $40. I brought it to the USPS who said it was way too oversized to be shipped by them. I went back to Pak Mail and the clerk said she'd either refund my $40 or she could repack it to try and make it smaller or in two boxes. She said I could pick it up that afternoon or in the morning. I told her "no rush." I called the afternoon of the next day asking about it and the owner answered. He said they packed it correctly and they would not refund my money or repack it unless I paid again. I said that the clerk knew it was for the USPS since it was her suggestion and she did not pack it properly for them. He told me I was cheap for not sending it with him (again - nearly $700). He says there's no way he's packing it again or refunding no matter what. He blames me and says it's packed so it won't get broken. He won't acknowledge that the clerk suggested the USPS and didn't pack it properly for the occasion. He was extremely rude and obnoxious and would not listen to reason or the facts of the matter. Me: Pak Mail suggested I send it through the USPS. I asked you to professionally pack it for that purpose. I paid a lot of money for it. It was done incorrectly for the stated purpose. Him: It's your fault. It's not our fault. You pay again or go away. If you want to do business with someone like that, do so at your own peril. He seems to have changed in the years since the other two reviews. There are plenty of other places with very positive, recent reviews to choose from. Avoid this place. His quote on Yelp a few years ago, "For some reason, many people in pack and ship stores aren't very friendly. We think that's a shame. There is no reason not to smile and be friendly to customers," says Joel. "Our goal is to go beyond friendly and provide such a high level of service that our customers are not just happy, but delighted enough to return time and time again." Joel seems to have given up the fight and embraced the notion that people in his business have to be surly and do everything they can do grab every penny from the customer at any cost to the relationship or the quality of what they offer. He got paid and me, the customer, got nothing usable in return after following his stores's advice. What happened to you, Joel? Why have you become what you used to reject? My reply to Joel's response below: "Nope. Not correct. You weren't there and I have no reason to lie. And you did call me cheap for not wanting to spend nearly $700 to send it through you when we spoke on the phone. Which is when I countered with "I think you're the cheap one not wanting to correct your mistake."" The work was -not- done properly. Period. You don't stand by the work you do. read more

The owner is a very nice man but his rates are higher than what you can get online and when asked about it he basically put me off saying there were other factors and this and that but in essence was unwilling to even really discuss what I was seeing online. If I could have gone back to get my 34lb box I would have. Instead I just won't ever use them again. read more
