I had a great experience with the printing department. Scott was very kind and helped me get through some technical issues in sharing what I needed to print. He also guided me through some purchases so that I taped two posters together rather than trying to use spray on glue. He'd had experience doing this particular "fix" and knew what he was talking about. Scott also figured out how to save me some money by getting the purchase of a large order ready for pick up at opening the next day rather than putting a rush on the order. What a friendly local print and ship shop locally run by Scott and his team since 2019! I came in with a huge box and a blurry copy of the QR code for a label to be made. Scott was very helpful and said I could simply email the code to the office from my phone and then they printed it out and shipped off for me! Tons of supplies there too including cards, stationary, packing supplies, etc. I'll be back for my next print and ship service for sure and plenty of parking too. read more

Not the best customer service nor are they very helpful assisting customers with getting large packages out of the building. I know it's not your job to carry my package out of the building but you could at least offer to point out an usable cart to move my goods. It's also not cool when an employee is openly rude to its patrons and speaks to them in a demeaning manner. read more

PASSPORT - Never ever go to this place to get your passport renewed. They're careless, incompetent and rude and they keep your money when they make mistakes. The Fed ex clerk insisted that I fill out a 9 page invasive form on their computer. The formwanted me to include personal information of everyone I've ever known. I told them that this form was clearly for someone who had never been issued a passport. Then the computer hit a snag and suggested I talk to someone at the FED EX front desk. I did and when I pointed out to the employee that I was renewing my passport, which I had done many times before and that I just needed to fill out a one page renewal form, include 2 photos, my old passport and $175. check and mail it. They bald faced LIED and told me this was the new system, and that it would take 10 to 14 weeks to get a new passport. They to take some god awful photos and charged me $400. to process my application. I paid it but knew something was terribly wrong. I made a copy of form and drove to the USPS on Seminole and showed the person who does the passport work the Fed Ex form. They told me that the FED EX procedure and form were wrong and unnecessary because I was simply renewing my old passport. On the spot I filled out the short USPS passport renewal form, included my old passport and 2 photos, paid the fee AGAIN and mailed it all in on the spot! I received my new passport after within 2 weeks. I went back to FED EX at Barracks Rd with my receipt, a copy of their form to request a refun because they had made a mistake and charged me $400 for it. They refused to refund my money. They basically stole my money and did not provide a service. Please go elsewhere. Shame on you -- hire some adults and stick to deliveries because that's all you're good for. read more

FedEx offers standard shipping and printing services. On the upside, they get the job done and are open 24/7. But in a university town where folks are constantly printing and binding, why settle for the basics? I'd suggest some of the other locally owned businesses for copying and printing. They're much more personable, typically cheaper and I haven't experienced the same long lines and exasperated staff elsewhere! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! They messed everything up possible from the moment I walked in. I needed two short PPT decks printed in color, and hopefully spiral bound to look professional. When i walked up to the desk to ask how much it would cost, they couldn't give me an answer but said it would take 24 hours. 24 HOURS TO PRINT 22 SHEETS OF PAPER AND BIND IT?? I've bound presentations before, it takes 10 seconds. Fine, I said, I'll just print it. The guys behind the counter asked if I had a USB drive, which I didn't. I just had it on my laptop (which i had with me) and an in email, which I could easily send them. Nope, they said, you'll have to go to the back of the story to print it, so they pointed me in that direction and offered ZERO instruction more than that. I wander to the back of the store, which is completely empty, and see there are laptop stations, work stations, a sign to get on wifi - I have no idea which way I should connect to get these stupid 22 sheets of paper printed. I tried the work station, but I couldn't connect to my email like they claimed, so i walked over to the laptop station but that sign said it was $0.20/minute. I was sure that wasn't the right way either, but there wasn't any clear signs or instructions anywhere. There are also no humans around to help, and no one working behind the counter (who could see me) bothered to walk over to help until I went back to the front to ask what to do. At that point, a manager walked back with me and we tried to connect to print. But, she said, it would cost twice as much to print in the back of the store than in the front. WHAT? Why on earth would it matter where the printer is located in the store? "It's two different types of printers." Fine, how do I send it up to the front, I ask. You can't, unless you have a USB drive. I repeated that I didn't have one, and felt like I needed to apologize for that at this point. Eventually, we got my PPT loaded onto a Google Drive (the wifi was terrible so every step took several minutes) so I could move up front (to the cheaper printers) and actually managed to start printing. I thought I was home free. Nope, the printing (from a PDF) completely messed up, with some pages all red, some blank, and just 2/11 pages looking normal. It was easily 10 minutes before anyone bothered to ask if everything was working, and when I showed them it wasn't, the same manager finally just said I could email her the PDF and she'd print and bind it. That would've been helpful 45 minutes ago when I walked in! So she goes back and prints and binds it, returning a nice pair of presentations and I'm ready to get the hell out of there. She was perceptive enough to realize that we were even on the printing, but then she said I needed to pay for the binding. That part was $11 !!! That's an incredible rip off, and obviously I wouldn't have paid that if they had told me ahead of time how much it would cost. Those spirals costs about $5 for a box of 20 and the labor couldn't be more than 5 minutes. I don't understand how they can get away with that pricing. So in the end, the customer service was terrible, it took an hour to print/bind 22 sheets of paper, and they charged me $23 in all for that. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! PS. If you really want people to print off of a USB (which I was asked about 3 times) and it's that much easier, why don't you just have extra USB drives that customers can use temporarily while they're in the store, and then delete the files after they leave??? read more

Midday on a Sunday and employees engage in arguments with each other about how much work each does or doesn't do and complain about other customers; other meaning besides the 3 in the store. Avoid this place at all costs if you can do business elsewhere. I had to ship something the other day on a business trip, and I was put in a position to have to rush back to the airport at the same time. From the moment I walked in door, the guy handling the shipping behind the counter could not have been less helpful or more antagonistic. To make clear, the store was not busy at all and no one else was in line except me standing there, boxes in hand, looking up at the signs behind the shipping counter to figure out what part of the counter that handled shipping things. I noticed the large guy working behind the counter just standing there, smirking at me for a good 10 seconds as I was trying to read the overhead signs until an associate who happened to be standing out on the floor behind me said, "Sir, (__) over there will help you." When I walked over to the counter the first words out of his mouth were to demand, 'What have you done already?' I was confused by what he meant, but then figured out that he was referring to filling out the FedEx shipping forms. I told him I was in a bit of a hurry because I was concerned that I may miss my flight and asked if there was any way he could help me to get these items ready to ship asap so I could be on the way to the airport. His reply was, "No, I need you to go over to that counter (pointing) and fill out one of those forms for each item then come back." This guy was about as unhelpful and "don't give a damn" attitude as they come. I can't believe management would allow such a rude and unprofessional employee to work there (did I mention he looked like he just crawled out of bed and barely fit in his uniform that was too small for him?) Incredibly disappointed. Lackluster customer service combined with deceitful tactics result in a terrible customer experience. Went to this store to purchase 250 business cards--online received a $15 quote, so was thinking the cost would be similar. Boy, was I wrong. Ended up spending almost $50 on business cards, but didn't receive any sort of quote or notification until after the order was completed. Was essentially told "too bad, so sad" by the customer service representatives. The prices in this store are sky high and the quality is terrible. Will not be returning. read more

Well...let me be the that gives these guys a decent report...I'm from out of town and needed these guys to print 200 copies of my mom's funeral program. What I first needed assistance on was for them to format it to where it would print both sides of the program. I arrive there at 4:30 on 4/22/14 and quickly noticed the evening rush of customers that were ahead of me...I panicked a tiny bit, but took a deep breath and sat my laptop towards the back of the store where the cubicles are. Before you know it, the crowd dissipated and I immediately grabbed my flash drive and requested help... they were very helpful with me especially two of the giirls...one named Cheryl and didn't catch the other one. But for Cheryl, she was able to format it the way I needed and based on my request, she printed and folded they programs. It turned out great...I was out of there by 6:15..! I would use them again, they were very helpful and they helped me get what's needed to be accomplished...the funeral programs turned out great read more

A couple times a year I need custom printing help: large format posters, banners, maps, that kind of thing. I have tried the local shops, which I prefer philosophically, but for large format stuff their prices are often 2X to 4X that of FedEx and I cannot justify spending the money. Every one of several experiences I have had with FedEx in the last five years has been remarkable in every way: price is affordable, service is efficient, and delivery often immediate. Example, last month I needed both color and B&W 36" x 20" prints of an image; I called ahead and the employee said to send a PDF by email which I did right then from my computer. At the end of the call, I asked when they could get to it and the employee responded, "I just printed it right now. Come and get it." The color and B&W prints were perfect. I have read some of the negative reviews on Yelp and I have got to say these are likely unfortunate but vocal outliers and not representative of the Charlottesville FedEx printing services. Docked one star to four stars only because not a local business, and I prefer to patronize small local businesses if justifiable. read more

Horrible customer service. Okay, some people there are okay, but avoid the copy counter at all costs! When you go up to the counter, they could care less that you've been waiting for five minutes. I've had repeated run ins with the lazy, rude people that work behind the counter. You can complain all you want, they'll still work there. This is one of those businesses you want to give zero stars to. Never in my life have I received such horrible customer service and it starts with the general manager. She lied to me about when a project would be done and when I showed up to get it, the worlds most unhelpful employees told me that 'well we could print it right now, but we don't like your attitude'. I had to go outside and call the national customer service help line to get my project finished. These people charged me for TWO hours to remove one word from a sign, not kidding. They said it took them two hours on Photoshop to remove the word Thursday. After being off by 36 hours on my completed sign, I received no apology, just a bunch of ghetto neck rolls and rolled eyes when I told them I could be fired for them lying to me. And the cashier... Adalia (sp?) is hands down the rudest most unequipped person for customer relations you could have in your business. If you say anything she doesn't like she immediately threatens to not give you work. I mean by the time you leave this store you will be furious, it will ruin your day. These people have no business working with people, they obviously hate their jobs and go out of their way to be rude and unhelpful. This should be closed because it gives the entire chain a terrible name. These employees reflect the indifference and attitude of their manager. This place is NOT open 24 hours and there is a printing place I am now using across the street that I would recommend. My husband and I took photos last weekend. The staff was enthusiastic but didn't care about the customer satisfaction. We paid $33.6 for a total 4 photos, two for each of us. Immediately after the staff printed out my husband's photos, I commend the color was very dull and he looked like having jaundice. The staff responded this was supposed to be. My face was also appearing a yellow color. We are healthy adults and the color was definitely unreal. We are disappointed about the quality of the photos but we didn't have to present passport frequently so we didn't bother to take another photo. read more

Walking in to pick up a package that you requested held should not be a painful experience. I understand certain employees have certain jobs, but employees should be able to help out when the line on one end of the store gets long. When the printing/copying people don't have anyone in line, there shouldn't be any reason the Package line is only being worked by one person when there are 4 other employees milling about the store. read more

I had never been to this FedEx Ship Center before and I was a little leery about going in as I have had bad experiences elsewhere. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed with a, "Hello! We will be right with you." I waited for about five minutes and then the Assistant Manager Brandie was so kind, efficient, and helpful. She got my order packed and ready to ship in less than five minutes. I checked my tracking number today and it was successfully delivered today at 12 pm just as she said. This FedEx location is a disgrace to the entire FedEx company. I recently decided to no longer do business after 2 consecutive bad experiences. The worst attribute of this location is its customer service. On my first visit I was attempting to make copies of business flyers. After standing at the front desk waiting for assistance for what had to of been at least 5 minutes, I was given an attitude when I asked if I could have my flyers printed on a heavier weight paper. Then instead of helping me with my order, she pointed me to the self service print stations saying they would allow me to print on the heavier point paper that I wanted. This leads me to the next issue; the machines don't work efficiently hardly any of the time. After 15 minutes of entering and selecting my desired info, the machine took my card and did not print anything! After 45 whole minutes of being in that store I still had nothing to prove of my time being there. I ended up having to go back to the front desk and ask for the same thing again. This time I was helped. And get this- it only took 5 minutes to complete the job start to finish. During my second visit I was flat out insulted and annoyed. I asked for a picture to be printed in size 11x14. The SAME woman who gave me horrible customer service before was there yet again. When I told her the size I desired she went on a spill about having to put the job on the over-sized printer and it costing over $7 per square foot, so I was looking at over $15 for a photo. She ended her sentence with an expression of doubt, as if the price of the photo would change my interest in wanting it. I was so aggravated that I just walked out. I will never take business to that store again. read more
