I've been to this location three times now as I'm new in the area and each time they've done a great job and suggested different packaging to help reduce cost/time. Everyone has been friendly and helpful. I have seen some negative reviews for this place so I'm assuming that things have cleared up since past experiences; everybody I've met there has been great and service was on point and up to expectations. I went to this Fed Ex location twice as it is close to me. First to simply get a medium sized priority/express box. The store was empty at the time, yet the young man behind the counter was rude, unhelpful, and demonstrated an unacceptable attitude when asked a couple simple questions about shipping options. I was kind and smiling, yet I could not understand why he exhibited such disdain for the customer and answering two simple questions that easily fell within his purview. I left wishing I would not encounter him again and wondered why he was working somewhere he apparently loathed. I wish I had caught his name. When I returned to mail my package, I saw the rude young man working there again, but was relieved a kind young woman was at the counter to assist me instead. She was helpful, friendly and efficient and did not have difficulty assessing my shipping options. The transaction was quick and straightforward and reasonably priced. The first visit warranted zero stars, the second visit earned back a couple. read more

Dude, if simple questions stress you out and you gotta put the brakes on cuz you can't multi task in answering a question and inputting info in the computer, then I suggest you find another job. Going to the post office makes me so so anxious and it's something I hate doing. USPS always has a long line so I decided to try FedEx for the first time today. Josette made me feel very comfortable and handled my four international/complicated deliveries easily! The process was incredibly smooth and I am so grateful to her. If you have international packages to ship I'd highly recommend FedEx over USPS because at USPS you have to figure out which customs forms to fill out for specific countries. Went here a few days ago, with about eight boxes that I had to ship back for work. There were only two on staff at the moment as everyone else was taking lunch, I believe the manager, whose name was something like Kayla and a young gentleman. They were so incredibly busy, and I felt so bad that I had so many packages but we're truly so kind the entire time. They worked hard to help everyone and catch up on the never ending line. They both kept their composure after being yelled numerous times by rude people even though it wasn't their fault the line was long and the were busting their asses to work. I have to say what a great experience and what great customer service those two employees showed. Hang in there and keep that positivity! Rude Customers take their anger out on the closest person and they didn't let it get them down. Very impressive. read more

After looking at the sad state of reviews of this place, I was inspired to visit. I was determined to print my labels and have a damn good time while at it. I arrived with joy in my heart, a smile on my face, and a subtle air of determination. Well. It took me 30 minutes to get someone to help me print some labels. And when I finally got someone, he set up a self serve printer and then walked away. Did the labels print properly? Nope! So I called him back over. "Oh I KNEW it would do that." he says. What. Then why didn't you set it up right the first time?! You'd think he'd get it sorted out right away then right? Nope! He walked away and said one of his employees would help. After waiting another 20 minutes nobody came by. Had to leave the printer and go to the front desk and wait in line to get helped. By the time I got back to the self serve printer, somebody else had started using it. Had to get them off the printer and then set everything up again. Overall, a trash experience. I don't think I've had a worse customer service experience anywhere else. Completely incompetent. It took me over 50 minutes to print some simple labels. Do yourself a favor. Unless your intent is to exercise self control and sanity in the face of retardation, go somewhere else for your printing needs. Never coming back to this sad place again. read more

Josette is great at what she does. By "what she does", i mean condescend to customers and make them feel stupid if they don't know how to use the equipment or don't know the technical terms of the services offered. I said "I'm having trouble using the computer that prints photos". She was all "Computer?? What computer?? OH, you mean the PHOTO PRINTER??" (Which is technically still a computer.) She knew what i meant, yet she had to act all demeaning and like i was an idiot. This wasn't the first time; she's acted this way to me in the past. The staff named Josette is very rude. I don't know what made her unhappy to help me. She asked me to send my shipping label to FedEx store without telling me the email address. When I asked the address, I can feel her impatience. I shared my shipping label file and send the sharable link to the address. When she saw the email, I heard her saying, "what is the F*KING file. Why do you send this?" I noticed her name tag when she turned back, and it writes "Josette Store Manager". No wonder the store has a rating of only 2 stars, given a store manager like her. read more

Stephanie is great with requests and there is a middle age lady who works at night who is particularly helpful, but for the most part, visiting this place feels like an absolute dread and weight on one's shoulders. Why should it take half a minute to load "how to scan" at the work station computer. Most of the sales associates are not helpful. I asked one of the young guys on the floor how to scan and he said, "That machine there should scan, but it doesn't right now. Yeah, I don't think it works.. I don't know." read more

I don't know how they're still in business. Do NOT use their packing services. I was told there was not an appropriate box but they would pack and mail my item as soon as they had one. When I did not receive it days after the estimated delivery, we called and were told they had lost my info. Despite repeatedly saying it needed to be packaged tight so it could not wiggle around in the box, my package came with ZERO padding. They stuck a stained glass window directly in a box, strapped to a piece of cardboard, with nothing to protect it, not even a fragile sticker on the box. Was working on a project for my job and needed to print some things. I'm not photoshop savvy by any means. When I arrived I approached the front desk and the manager Josette helped me (and walked me) to the station that was suiting for the job I was looking for. When I explained to her I knew what I wanted but didn't really know how to do it she took control and did it for me! If there was an alternative close by, I would never go to this place again. There is reluctant customer service. The customer service people are barely civil. You'd think that when you ask for help you could actually get it. I sent a fax on a machine that had a warning that the drum needed to be replaced. One of 2 fax machines was operable and I can only hope that the fax was readable at the other end. I've been to this place several times over the past 10 years and it's always the same. Don't waste your time in this place. Their computers in the workshop place are from last century. I can't believe how slow that is. And they charges you per minute. I guess that's why they put that kind of slow computers. The computer took me 10 minuets to open a single website. I was trying to print 10 pages of paper. Finally it took me 40 minuets and charged me 30 dollars just for printing that 10 pages of paper. If I was not hurry to need that documents, I would leave. I've had trouble at this store the 2 times I used them: The first time they made me feel like an idiot. The second, I tried to return an air purifier in the exact same box that it was shipped to me via FedEx. The employee told me that because the box had already been used to ship once, FedEx did not guarantee it against damage in transit because it must survive a FIVE foot fall. Ridiculous! I went across the street to the UPS Store (in front of KFC) and they shipped it with a smile. I even added $200 worth of insurance for $1 extra!!! read more

Man. There is one dude who seems to run this location of FedEx and he quite literally has the worst attitude of anyone working in customer service that I'v ever met. It's so bad that me and my partner dread going in when we need to ship or print something. This guy is the millennial version of the infamous Seinfeld soup nazi. God forbid you need to ask a clarifying question or need something to be redone, he's gonna let you have it in front of the whole store. Like dude, I get it, dealing with customers sucks, we've all worked a job like this, but if you enter into every customer interaction with a "f*ck you for making me do my job" attitude, you're going to make everything worse for yourself. All the older men who work in the store are super nice and helpful, but this young skinny guy is literally just the worst. I'v been in this location 3x now and each time I'v seen him talk down to every single person. If you hate working with people so much you gotta find a different job. I brought in a lossless vector image in .PDF format, and asked them to print/cut copies on glossy paper. It cost me about $45 to print 25 copies. The quality of the prints was extremely poor - my home printer could have done better. Maybe they need to upgrade their hardware at this particular branch...? read more

I would give no star if I can. My shipment is in exception, so I called them. A woman with strong accent picked up and spend 5min letting me hold in line. And another 5min told me that they don't have a my package. But it's in your office according to my tracking details! Waste my time! I don't understand how fedex is more expensive than others. I have to ship via FedEx fairly regularly. The majority of times I come in here I end up waiting 15 minutes just to ship a prepaid package. I've begun to wonder why I keep thinking the next time will be better. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. The service is just so slow. It's always one thing after another with this place. Wanted to drop off a prepaid ground package for a return. Was told I would need to fill the box with paper or put the package in another box to ship (even though the unopened package was exactly how fedex delivered it to my house. After arguing with the sales person for about 10 minutes I said fuck it and drove to the FedEx by my house which took the package without any problem. After being pissed off enough to write this review and seeing the other horror stories fedex management needs to re staff this location or just raze the building and start from scratch. read more

911 POLICE CALLED ON GRANDMA!!! Grandma can be forgetful. She thought it would be a great idea to copy her handicap sign for her other car so she would have one in each car. She hobbled into FedEx. Copied her sign, hobbled to the laminator asked a question of the gray hair old cranky guy, you know who he is if you have been in there, the one with the customer service skills of a badger. The one who tried to charge grandma $5.00 for boxes they throw away!!! He mubbled something to her and walked away. Her hearing is not the best. She went on with her little project and the next thing she knew 3 police officers surrounded her. She was asked to hobble outside with them. WOW, really Mr. customer service! This little lady has not even had a parking ticket in her life, she is 82! 3 police cars! Tax payers money? I will say thank you to the officers who came. They were very kind to her. While one guarded her for an hour. The others tried to figure out what to do. They were even rolling their eyes! They took the evidence with a smile and told her she could pick it up when is she was not notified. Shame on you Mr. Customer service guy, save it for the real criminals. Made ten copies of my (quite long) thesis on one of their manual copy machines. Stupidly, I just fed in the original and pressed "start" without checking the quality. End result: I ended up with nearly 400 copies that were of disappointing quality. I expected much crisper, clearer copies. On the other hand, when the manager asked me, "Everything go okay for you?" he immediately recycled the poor copies and replaced them with very clean, good-looking copies from a more expensive machine - without my asking. And for no charge. This is excellent service and care for the customer. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I have been here on two occasions and it's like pulling teeth to get help. As far as the long waits, yes, it's true. This is Goleta though, and I don't expect speed. I do, however, expect kindness and (at least) sub par customer service. Tonight I tried to pay them print my files (for a greater price) and was sent to the self service machines. I have had constant problems with the online app - the site automatically charges for things like cutting despite clicking 'None' over and over again. I figured I would just drop into the store tonight, files in hand, just to have them run off. First off, they cannot access the files that are already setup on the FedEx Print server, and if I want to send them to her, I can pay to use the Internet and do it that way. FYI, the free access Design & Print Center does not allow login, so I would have to pay for web access. Otherwise, she would charge me $7 design fee to print my PRINT READY files at the print counter. This is the option from the manager. Unbelievable. I expressed my frustration and gave her multiple options to make it right. Nothing. I will never come to this location again. read more
