Shipping was easier and faster than I anticipated with Pact eco friendlier happy returns process that uses less packing material. Glad this FedEx participates in the program. I almost never find myself here. Over the last many years since my original review, I've returned a handful of times. It's still plenty convenient, but when I'm running errands that might include a need for getting something printed, it's usually in tandem with other errands and that's the thing--if you're not here just for FedEx, there's not much else around except a big mall and ramen. Here's the thing, though, and if you're a copy fiend like I am you are going to appreciate this: the paper cutter at this FedEx is always superior to to the other ones. Whereas the others are often dull and trashed, this one has always done me right. So if I need to do some precise cutting, this is my jam. That might seem like a tiny thing, but if you're ever in the middle of a cutting project and cursing the sloppy edges, you know it's not an exaggerated benefit. I noticed on my last trip to another location that they had upped their game, but we'll see if it lasts. Beyond that, you're getting a basic FedEx office here. The one in SSL is open late/24 so this one isn't a late night hang, but more of a convenient quick stop right off of State. read more

It was very difficult for me to select a star rating for this review, as A-OK doesn't really reflect how I feel about the experience. Some aspects went well, while others would be downplayed by giving a three star rating. Starting off, I was somewhat annoyed to see that this business is still requiring masks, when the CDC has clearly given the okay to stop requiring that. It is difficult to "get back to normal", when businesses like this hold on to fear like a delicate child afraid to go out and play on the playground after scraping their knee. For this alone, if I planned to ever ship with FedEx again, I would not return until this location updates their policy and I am deducting stars for this, but for the people reading this who are germaphobes or still feel freaked out, this may be a plus for you. Moving beyond that, the store was clean and well maintained inside. Ricardo greeted me and was very pleasant and professional. I was sending a hard drive that would be returned back to me in the same box, and I wanted to also pay for the shipping label coming back. I needed to make a shipping account with FedEx, and so I did this. The process was relatively easy. I was asked if I wanted to add a signature and I decided to do so when it came back to me. If I had known that FEDEX NORTH SALT LAKE was as poorly managed as it is, and that the facility tries to make receiving packages that need a signature very difficult so that people will get frustrated and try to pick the packages up themselves, I would not have selected this option. I am obviously not deducting stars for this because that is a different facility, but I highly suggest they inform customers who may be paying to receive shipments to their homes that they do not use signature verification. I am deducting a stars for not putting down the value of the package on the return shipment label. The declared value for the hard drive returning is not 0. I only realized this after FEDEX NORTH continuously told me my package was coming, and it still has not shown up. This wastes my time and money, as well as not receiving my package. I have already been informed that I will only receive 1/4 of what the item is worth because the declared value was put in as "0". I considered moving the star level to one, but I was given good service otherwise and I don't want to discount that. I do aim to be fair when writing my reviews. Another thing to mention is that they have a fedex web address that ends in "welisten" to give feedback. This page does not exist. It is becoming very clear that FedEx does not actually want customer feedback as I navigate through the company's bloated and dysfunctional customer service system. To bring this review to a close: the in-person experience was good and if you like using FedEx, I would say that this place is as good as any to do so with, though I recommend you double check everything to be sure there is no missing information. If you are ambivalent about who you ship with, I highly suggest you do not ever ship with FedEx, and that if you are arranging for a shipment to go anywhere in the SLC area, do not request a signature. It's important to know that the FedEx system in the SLC area, especially the NORTH facility, is very poorly run. I have talked with many different people in the last week, and FedEx Corporate knows there is a problem, but isn't interested in taking action to fix the issues. While some of that does not have to do with this FedEx shipping location, the fact that the shipment's declared value was inputted as 0 does connect in with that information and may likely impact an already bad situation. EDIT: After looking around online, it seems that employees putting "0" in the declared value spot is pretty rampant. This leads me to believe that either FedEx specifically tells the employees to do this, or FedEx does not train their employees to double check this. Either way, it seems that FedEx is aware of the inadequacies in their company and do not want to pay for that, and thus--either overtly or covertly--try to make sure the declared value section has a "0" in it. I strongly suggest not using FedEx, but if you do, again, my experience with this location had many positive aspects to it. read more

I don't understand where the multiple bad reviews are coming from, honestly. I came in to take care of a few things and purchase some office supplies. My experience here was very pleasant. Ricardo, the center manager, assisted me promptly and courteously. There was very minimal foot traffic while I was there and most people were in and out in a matter of minutes. read more

This place is a joke and borderline criminal. I sent my daughter to send a large box today but it only weighed 7 pounds. I'm sending it from SLC to Twin Falls ID. They tried to charge her $216 dollars!!!!! She told the guy where he could put his box and that he was totally trying to screw her. She went to the UPS store and sent the same order NEXT DAY and it was only $46 dollars! I wouldn't recommend them for anything! read more

Parking in front, easy to find. Seemed like a long wait for a Thursday evening, but these are one of the few that stay open late. Came in with a last minute difficult project for a trade show the next day. Ricardo was able to work with me and go outside the usual parameters for the custom print job. Service is expensive so of course do it yourself if you need to watch your costs. Lots of machines and service options. They have cool gifts, snacks, and cards here too. Recommended. read more

Hey FedEx Office, if you are going to have rules about printing music and copyrights, you should probably know the copyright laws. In the United States, if any piece of music was published before 1922, it is considered what is called "public domain". That means anyone can use it for any reason. There is a website called IMSLP.org that helps provide music in the public domain for printing. So, when I go into one of your centers with a PDF of a Mozart aria from said website, please do not have your employees tell me that it is illegal to print the music because there is a copyright on it from 1897. It was so frustrating to try to explain to him that I was not doing anything illegal, especially when I am very crunched for time and my audition is tonight. Adhering to copyright laws is perfectly fine, but please inform yourself of what that means. read more

Service overall was good, but he was charging me $5 for "additional packaging" (aka one piece of paper shoved into my box). I would give less stars if it wasn't charged to my corporate account. As I understand it pixels per inch is a variable and since most common image files are just pixels you can't pre-size your images for print. This place will "do that for you" @ $5 per F***ing IMAGE.... (price of the prints themselves not included). They're stupid and unhelpful too.... I went to a kiosk (at another location) that did the job better, quicker and much much cheaper. Advice to you. Go to the Ft. Union location and use the kiosk. Or anywhere else that has one. I think some Walmarts have them....I think, don't quote me. Advice to FedEx Office / Kinkos. Get more kiosks and fire most of your people! read more

It's no wonder this place is reviewed so low. Yesterday I placed an order for some basic prints, and they said they would be finished in the morning. After calling to verify if they were finished, Stacey told me they would be finished at 4 PM. When I arrived at 4:10 PM, she wasn't even working on them. I had to go to a meeting so I asked her if they would be done by 430 and she said they would. I paid right then and told her I would have somebody else come pick them up later. Two hours later my brother returned and she still wasn't done with them and told him she probably wouldn't be so now we have to wait till tomorrow. Don't use these guys I'd recommend shopping around for another print company with higher reviews. read more

I have been to this location many times before, and have been very happy with the service previously. However this time their computer stopped reading credit cards, and they had to manually enter in my information. That is fine, it wasn't too bad, and I understand some things are out of their control, however after finally getting the card to work, the younger gentleman said sorry for the wait/inconvenience (which was deserved and appreciated) an Elderly gray haired woman said, rude comments to me about it being my fault. She was rude and showed no concern about anyone but herself, as well as got involved after the transaction had already taken place. The younger gentleman at least took responsibility for the issue, and the older woman decided she knew more of the situation, even when she wasn't even a part of the transaction. Avoid working with the elderly woman, and you should be ok. read more

Came with a print job. Two kinkos claimed that their printers were just fine and that my original copy of a file I created was to blame for banding issues. These guys at this kinkos acknowledged that yes, their printer had the problem, and worked to correct it. Awesome service, though annoying that the printer was lame. read more

So, so, so awful. I usually try to be pretty fair with my reviews, but I have had TWO bad experiences in a row...so I'm not going to let them off easy. My first experience was was with an accordion book. I made the template myself and just needed it printed out flat on an 11X17 piece of paper. It looked awful. Where there should have been smooth gradations there were big blobs of black ink. The colors were all off and there was a lot of banding. The girl in the shop could only get it to look normal on the cheap, thin paper (but still charged me for the nice luster paper). There were still problems with lines in the image. I took it home and because the paper was so thin and see through, I couldn't fold it into a book. I had to mount it instead, so it totally ruined my assignment. This fedex is so close to my house that I decided to give them another try with my next assignment. It was just a simple 8X10 image. Once again, I ordered the nice paper, which cost me $1.50 per sheet. Again the images came out completely unusable. It was grainy and had no subtle gradations--any large areas of dark or light are completely black or blown out. I used standard file types (pdf), cmyk color, and 300 dpi on all of my files for optimum printing quality. I came home and tried it with my 5 year old $35 printer and it looks a thousand times better. I find it hard to believe that a print and copy shop is operating with poorer quality equipment than me. It must be operator error. I wouldn't recommend this location for anything other than pure black and white text printing. Anything nice(and by nice I mean, involving color or images) should be taken to a professional print shop. Please, don't make the same mistake I did...twice. read more

Terrible service very unorganized !! If you wanna pay cash beware this store is not for you they say they have a cash card but half of them did not work. Then the lazy manager did not care while he watched his staff make mistake after mistake. To add the cherry on top I got double charged. Awesome way to start my day!!! read more
