FedEx no longer gives their contractor drivers vehicles that are capable of delivering things around Reno. As I write this, there is a FedEx truck full of valuable packages sitting near the mailboxes on Geiger grade. You see, FedEx uses contractors and pays them minimum wage. Those contractors have to supply their own vehicles, which may not be capable of actually delivering the packages promised. I gave up on FedEx years ago when it took them eight days to get me a priority overnight package sent from 100 miles away. The company doesn't refund shippers whose delivery commitments were missed because of FedEx's poor business practices. Spending money on a FedEx shipment is a great way to show people that you have more money than sense. read more

Paid for express package delivery but it didn't happen. Delivery window was changed twice. This has happened before. They used to be the best because they were very reliable, but no longer. FED EX apparently does not work on weekends, so, don't pay for express delivery if you order on a Friday. read more

I stayed home from work today to be here when my package arrived. At 4pm, the driver decided to go home and claimed that the address was wrong on the box. Funny thing, the address was correct on their application and on the text messages that I received. This driver has done this before, and continues to be employed by FedEx. I will ask for UPS to be my shipper on all future deliveries. I had a package shipped from CA last week. Fed Ex sent a confirmation that my package was delivered with a picture of the locker it was supposed to be delivered in. However, my package was not left in a locker- it was left outside of the mailroom overnight. He was not here even 30 seconds and said he couldn't find the address and left. It was crucial that I received this package on time! That's why I paid for overnight shipping. Don't ship FedEx if you want your package to arrive. First I was notified that my package would be delivered a day early. It was not, after I waited all day. The second day, their drivers can't seem to find the door. They left a note on my shed that I was not at home to sign for it. Well, I don't live in my shed, so how would I know that they were there? The third day I left them a note that they needed to turn the other direction to find the door, so they simply left, no note and a black picture of their attempt posted online. This is the fourth day I am waiting for a delivery some time between 7AM and 8PM. Not sure how to rate this one. Can't say the service was real friendly, but I got done what I needed and was on my way in somewhat short order. I guess I'm just always amazed at how long short order or timely manner can be when it comes to these stores. To me it always seems to take forever to process seemingly simple transactions. After all these years in business I would like to think FedEx figured out a way to make everything that much easier for their teams to service customers, but they haven't. That said, the center is clean. There's hand sanitizer around, along with social distancing signs and the staff and patrons were wearing masks, so that was all good. Parking was a breeze because it's on a relatively non trafficked road and you can park right on the street. All in all, if you're cruising through or near this area, this outpost is a much better choice than the more civilian locations in strip malls. read more

My overnight delivery from Texas was 3 days late. It arrived Reno FedEx office on a Saturday morning. I called and pleaded for it be delivered ASAP for something very important. Even though this is a 24/7 overnight service company, FedEx Reno has bankers hours. Limited on Saturday and closed Sunday . It was promised before noon on Monday. I didn't get it until 3pm. 5 days late. I saw the truck on the app go by my neighborhood 4 times , they just didn't give a damn. read more

They have not been able to deliver my package for 3 days now. They keep saying they will deliver but then they post a delay. They blamed weather. Funny we haven't had any weather issues for over a month... they are extremely rude on the phone. Always tying to cut you off on the phone. FedEx Ship Center typically averages about 3 stars for their service, but on this special day I refused delivery of a late package. The representative could not give me a receipt for the package, but said she would place a note that it was refused. FedEx re-delivered the package two days later, without any note or markings on the package. I caught the driver, and he pushed a few buttons then scanned the package and wrote RTS on top before it finally shipped back to the sender. We missed the delivery at the house. After a short time via chat we were told that we could pick package up here. We were treated by two nice ladies when we walked in. We provided the tracking number and ID. The lady helping us, went into the back and returned in a couple minutes with our package. While writing this, I'm trying to be cognizant of the fact that there are labor shortages everywhere, but at a certain point there are limits. Two Fridays ago, a package containing 213 Sports cards that belongs to my customers was attempted to be delivered before my business opened. No big deal, it said they'd try again on Monday. However, the package never came. It's a 28 pound package that's 16x12x18. I called customer service and was told it's at the facility on Capital BLVD. When I got there, 25 minutes away, not only was it not there, but the one employee informed me, rudely, after 25 minutes, that nobody knew where the package was. Since that day (12 days ago), I have been promised call backs, that the package was being searched for, etc. I called yesterday, after 12 days of calling, and was told they haven't even searched the warehouse yet. Nobody will give me the name of the driver, they've been telling me to just file a claim... every time I call back it's a new 45 minute process to update them, as if nobody even knows what I'm talking about. I've been forced to retain a lawyer to try to get answered about a package worth 10-12K that just mysteriously disappeared and is killing my small business. I also have several packages that were supposed to be delivered 10 days ago that haven't even left the origin city. If you care about transparency, being on time, not being given the go-around, basically any tenant of basic customer service, please consider looking for another carrier. read more

Had to update from 1star to 5 star, the fedex delivered to the address on the lable, which was messed up on the senders end. I appreciate the call back from FedEx to clearify where the issue rooted from. After 3 weeks of constant calls and emails to 3 different companies, to hold accountable the party that was at fualt, i finaly have closure. This wasnt about the money it was about the principal. Wow, you'd think a company like FedEx who's business model is delivery would actually be interested in delivering packages, but they're not. Though I informed them 2 days ago I work AMs and they must deliver in the PM, they refused to come any other time than between 10:15 & 10:30 AM. Then they lied to me and told me it would be delivered in the afternoon today but I now find they'd rather return my package 3000 miles back where it came from than actually deliver it to me. Worst customer service I've dealt with in quite a while. The two ladies that were working the front desk when I went in were absolutely no help whatsoever. Even the customer support center at (1-800-463-3339) we're of no help. They put you off and tell you they will get answers to your questions, they promise to call you right back, but never do. I spent days and hours on the phone trying to resolve an issue that I had with a package that went missing after arriving at the Reno FedEx hub. As of now, I got the item replaced by the shipper and the shipper is now fighting with FedEx to get reimbursed​. read more

NEVER AGAIN! 1. Paid for 2day shipping from a parts vendor, package arrived one day earlier at the FedEx facility but is being held because the tracking site tells me, "Package not due for delivery". Are you kidding me????????? You would rather hold the package so that it can be delivered along the lines of what I paid for instead of impressing me, THE CUSTOMER by delivering early? Unbelievable. 2. Had a FedEx corporate account, shipped primarily overnight letters, these letter packages contained contracts so some would end up being sent to home addresses. Rates for home delivery are somewhat higher than commercial addresses. The site discloses this and actually gives you an estimate of what that will cost. However, when you get the actual bill the price jumps anywhere from 50%-80% over what they quoted at the time of shipment! Classic bate and switch. When I attempted online disputes they where systematically denied every time. When I finally got a rep on the phone I was denied as well. After the third incident I DENIED FedEx my business! I will NEVER use FedEx AGAIN, EVER!!!!! There are other options, USPS, and UPS offer the same services and I have discovered that the USPS actually does it for a lot less. My girlfriend made arrangements to leave work so she could be home at the delivery time of 10:30 am today. When I left for work at 10:00 am, there was a door tag on the door ACROSS from my door!!! So not only did my gf race home for nothin there was no delivery!!! No door tag on my door, no package. Get this, they stated we need an adult signature which is why we needed to be home. I wanted to say I was so impressed with the customer service I received at this location. We went on Saturday to try to pick up a computer part that wasn't scheduled to be delivered to my address in Tahoe City until the following Wednesday. Despite not having her crew to sort through a container full of packages, the manager Claire Nichols made the extra effort to get our 8x12 envelope out and into our hands to get back on line. I offered to pay extra for the superb service , but Claire refused and said it was Fed Ex's mantra to make sure your business can depend on them in times of stress. I'm so impressed. I was with my wife today at the DSW on Virginia St. when I noticed the FEDEX Driver coming out of the store with packages for shipping. I couldn't believe my eyes what I saw. When he started loading the packages he just THREW them into the back of his truck. I worked freight for many years for UPS, USPS, DHL and some FEDEX and the only time I ever saw packages thrown was by Postal Workers. So when anybody would ask for my recommendation on who to ship with, I would immediately reply "Anyone except US Postal Service". Well I guess I can add FEDEX to that now. read more

Placed my order on 3 day vacation hold because I had to sign for delivery. Oackage arrived on 12/1/2020 at approx. 1230. I saw the driver carry my package with 1 hand , ring the doorbell, drop the package and leave. The package should have weighed about 30 lbs. I immediately left work and checked the package at my front door. The box was ripped open, re-taped, and was very light. I opened the box and found only brown packing paper. The contents were obviously ripped off by FedEx personnel either at the distribution center or by the driver. The value of the contents was over 300.00. I filed a loss inquiry on the website. I called for assistance and spoke to an outsourced person with a Pakistan accent who was worthless. I am sure FedEx will conduct a half assed follow-up with no results. The fact that they dropped the package without signature, shows implied guilt. FedEx hires contract drivers and warehouse workers who probably are working without background checks. These low lifes are going to your homes people! Do not use their service. In the future, I will request slt we rate delivery service. If I cannot be accommodated by the vendor, I will take my business elsewhere. If FedEx does show up at my res., I will deal with the driver personally. read more

This location is terrible! I had two packages shipped overnight from the exact same place at the exact same time. I received one no problem in the morning. The other one said it was still at the fedex location. So I drive down there to go pick it up. The very unfriendly women with glasses at the desk just says "it's still in a can" and that's it. So after a moment I say I don't know what that means. The whole time she kept repeating "it's in a can, I can't do anything" and then tells me that I basically need to call the 1-800 number for any service. I leave and call the 1-800 and the gentleman on the phone tells me oh it's on the truck and will be delivered by 8pm. This was all around 1pm. 5 hours laters, the status was updated to "unable to deliver business closed at 9am". At a residential address that you just delivered to??? When I got a finally got a manager at 1-800 involved, (after being hung up on) they said oh we didn't have access to the house. Really? Again you just delivered. Stop LYING and do your jobs. Went to 2 different Fedex locations (on a Saturday) that my Maps app said were open but were not. Walked in and thought i was in the wrong place because it looked like a big Fedex shipping center not intended for my simple return. I neded to return to walmart.com for my mistaken order of an Ipad 4 instead of Ipad Mini 4. Stood there for less then 10 seconds before being greeted by Monica. Wasn't sure what i was supposed to do but showed her a barcode for my return in the Walmart app and she knew what i needed to do. I quickly realized it said "I" needed to properly package my return before bringing it to Fedex to be sent back. She was more then helpful with packaging it so it would be safe during its return without risking it breaking and me being out over $200. I confidently walked out feeling like I was silly to take so long returning it not knowing what to do. I would also like to add that I had to drive an hour and a half from my hometown due to the fact there is no FedEx locations available where I live. I have read other reviews of FedEx locations and was a little worried of how i would be treated. I can honestly say I will be returning to this FedEx location if I ever need to send anything else via FedEx. And I'd also like to add that I saw other customers come in while I was at the counter whom Monica greeted as friendly as the first time she did me and witnessed a customer completely ignore her and drop a package on the counter and walk out. What dude?? your too cool to acknowledge her or even nod your head in her direction out of sheer politeness? Treat people how you wanna be treated folks.
