Feel Beauty Supply - 164-17 Jamaica Avenue. -"You people do not understand store policy"
ZERO STARS! 2 items were not advertised properly. 1 item priced (cuticle cutter) what appeared to be $1.49 actually rang up at the register as $11.49. As I walked away overlooking my receipt wondering what they hell did I buy for $11.49?! I did not leave their store and asked the cashier to take off the $11.49 as I would not have purchased the cuticle cutter had it marked properly or if the price tag marked wasn't faded to look like $1.49!. The shop owner (Young?) would not do so and stated he would give me store credit as it is not their policy to refund. I tried to explain the item I purchased was labeled wrong, I don't want it and would not have purchased it if I had know the real price. The guy then actually grumbles to me: "you people don't understand store policy". I am a bi-racial woman shopping in an Asian owned beauty shop on Jamaica Avenue where there are soooo many of these Feel Beauty stores populated in a black neighbor. Along side the his most racist remark, he states department store, Macy's, wouldn't refund you. Yes the would b/c I have the receipt and the label would still be on the merchandise with a 7 days return policy. Since I never even left the store, yes the would. The owner would not undo this at all, he said he'll pay me out of his own pocket the $11.50 instead of refunding my debit card purchase. Arguing with me because I'm not okay of being overcharged for an item marked $1.49 and insulting me? When I got home, looking at the receipt once more, there is a charge for $2.99 for a item labeled $2.49! ANOTHER price FRAUD! So even if a customer overlooks their receipt before leaving, and sees they've ben overcharged, you can not get your money back once the transaction is completed! Its the customers fault that the price labels are wrong and the scan code to the items are the correct price not what's been label? Its fraud! And you catch them on it, they give you grievances that they can't refund you for the money they're stealing off you. Like you won't noticed .25 cents, .50 cents here and there right? No big deal!
The 1st item was given back in cash. The 2nd item which I did not realize while in the store is overcharged by .50 cents. Price fraud/misrepresentation of the price is stealing. The item purchase was marked $2.49 as was every Tweezer by the same brand (Almine). I recommend not going to these stores at all if it could be helped. As convenient as these supply stores are, your apt to have the scan on the item ring up differently than what's clearly tagged. When you rebuke that and you were duped - you get to receive store credit for something you don't even need. Otherwise, you're going to have stand vigilant and WATCH every item priced checked first, then accept if you agree to the actually price that rings up. WATCH them! Doesn't matter if you're holding up the line. Doesn't matter if your kids are acting up. Or you gotta run. Now you've gotta be the Police Officer too. This is your money they're stealing. I guess their theory is that "you people" are coming in stealing, we'll get our money back by adding on few cents that "you people' won't notice and if you do oh well, no refund. read more
