So I came to this business twice for lymphatic massages post op to feel it out and give it a fair chance. The first time I noticed that the owner & woman who does the lymphatic massages does come off a bit strong, bold and opinionated and lets you know how she feels and this could be a deterrent for some. She was adamant about my food choices when I mentioned my friend and I were going to enjoy wings at epic wings downstairs nearby after the first session. She didn't like that idea and made it known but I'm a believer in all things in moderation are okay and that occasional meals you enjoy won't ruin your results after surgery. I came back a second time as I'd already made a deposit for the second session. Shortly after arriving we started chatting and she asked about what I had eaten that week when discussing swelling issues (but only being 12 days post op it's also expected the body will swell) and when I mentioned I'd had pasta 2-3 times that week she expressed displeasure and said she has the right "to fire a client" if they aren't doing what she feels (her opinion) is right for their body to heal. I did share that I'd been eating healthy meals in addition but she was very opinionated about it. Mainly I was taken aback by her saying she can fire a client, as I think we can all decide if we want to come back or not or work with someone. I said if she's uncomfortable I could leave but she said it's fine and she would work on me and eventually we moved forward from that conversation. I am paying for a service and expect that service to be done to the best of her ability. And to be fair she is good at her massages I will say that. But I don't think it's professional to threaten to fire a client who's paying good money for your service and to support your business and their recovery as well just because you don't agree with their eating habits ect. That is not why I came for services. Yes, educate clients and give them knowledge because that's helpful but it's a bit over the top when you go beyond that point. Not everyone is going to take your advice or agree with you so do they deserve to not receive the service at all? Either way you should do your best to help them heal with what you can do and what they came for. Mayette is knowledgeable about the lymphatic system which I can appreciate and hearing how it all works and her service is decent. But the way she comes across so strongly and opinionated can be harsh. She's entitled to her opinions but I don't see how dismissing a paying customer who seeks help is appropriate. Seeking lymphatic massage post op is being proactive in your recovery. If you care about your clients so much than it maybe best to use a different choice of words so customers aren't uncomfortable or caught of guard. In the beginning of the conversation before the massage I was thinking does she not want to work on me or want to fire me over what I ate this week? I was unsure how to proceed initially but we got past it. You can give your opinions and educate clients but there's a better way to go about it and be open to the idea that they may not agree with all of your viewpoints and that IS okay and they don't deserve to be punished for it. I wish her the best and hope she understands where I'm coming from and can maybe approach conversation a little differently and less judgmental in the future. read more

Yesterday was heavenly! I was in utter pain from moving from the high desert to Temecula. My lower back made me walk like a zombie and the simple action of putting on pants was painful. I broke down and scheduled a massage. Fortunately Mayette was available the same day. A bit difficult to find (above & to the left of the Wings n Things/there's a staircase/elevator to the second floor/her office is inside), but secluded is the best! I thought I should have knocked when I opened the door. It was like walking into a different world. The attention I got in the beginning was JUST what I was looking for - every area was rated and Mayette explained her technique. I'll be honest. It wasn't what I expected. But when I was able to walk away PAIN FREE and able to put on my pants without a second thought: she knows her stuff! I even asked about her membership plan (as I tend to either suffer from intense back pain when I'm not working out OR muscle soreness when training). What impressed me the most was that she went against convention. When most people get a massage, they expect a whole body touch fest. I had absolutely no aspirations for this. 60 minutes wasn't enough time for the work I needed. I THANKFULLY got exactly what was needed (plus the specific recommendation for the other areas of concern). I will look forward to becoming a member, and a regular. Mayette, you are a miracle worker. I have a mixed review. I went in for pain management and relaxation. I was told I had to choose one. I chose pain management. I have been to many massage therapists previously and have received relaxation and pain management in the same session. I feel when your most relaxed that's when you can actually work the muscles. But everyone does have their own approach. She mostly worked one specific area that I told her needed work. At the end she blamed not being able to relieve much was because I couldn't do the deep breathing correctly. Which quitter frustrated me to blame the patient and not be able to help me much at all. I left feeling like I already need another massage. :/ and I had done an online deal for $60 and was charged $65 which isn't a huge deal but it's more in accurate advertising - gets you in the door initially and then charges you more. I am disappointed. I also did feel it was weird that there was quite a bit of lights on during the massage and love music playing rather than spa music. She had said to let her know if I don't like the music but at that point I didn't want any further delay in the massage itself by spending time changing the music. read more

After suffering with back and hip pain for three weeks due to overdoing it in the gym, I was looking for pain relief. Mayette's Yelp reviews were fantastic and she was able to fit me in on her schedule the same day I scheduled the appt! (I previously contacted a local chiro and was told he couldn't see me for a month, and another massage therapist who returned my phone call about scheduling an appt. one week after contacting her.) I couldn't isolate the source of pain through stretching, foam rolling, and using a lacrosse ball to try to ease the muscle tension, but Mayette found it -- the psoas! After one session with her, I feel a million times better and am able to get back to working out. As a workout and running fanatic, I don't usually go for "relaxation massages." I prefer someone who can help relieve pain or tightness from training. Mayette is, by far, the best massage therapist I've seen. She is so passionate about helping people that she took the time to explain all the modalities she uses and how they can help, as well as techniques I can do at home. Not only is Mayettes consultation chart thorough but so is her massage! Nice building, excellent room location, cute decor, thorough consultation, good music, great massage. She really listens and feels where you are in pain. Her nails are trimmed done perfectly so her pressure is perfect with slow deeper tissue. She is immensely knowledgeable about the body so if you feel pain in a certain area, she might work from a different attachment sight to help release the area. She makes you feel safe, comfortable and relaxed on the table. Her energy is great and she's so genuinely nice. She has the perfect amount of dim lighting, comfortable bedding, and a nice heating pad. She even has a Thai area for Thai massages. Her massages are worth the $, unfortunately at this time, I just don't have the $ to see her as often as I'd like.
