I've been coming to this location for about 5 years now. I initially came here right after getting out of the Navy because it's what TRI-CARE recommended me to come too. I showed up and was promptly greeted by Wade and was taken to the back and asked to do a foot measurement that involves walking in a straight line on a instrument used to measure weight distribution of your feet when walking. I did that and all the measurements were taken, and I was told to come back in about two weeks so I could get my inserts put in my shoes...Two weeks later, I showed back up, picked up my inserts and was asked how to pay for them and I told them to bill TRI-CARE. Unbeknown to me three weeks later I found out that TRI-CARE doesn't pay for orthotics. Wade, he said there was some sort of mixup with insurance and said don't worry about it this time. They were the BEST 3-D printed inserts with a foam pad on the top that I've ever experienced in all of my years in the military wearing boots and running shoes!!. The inserts were so comfortable. I wore them for 3 years straight before they started to wear out on me. I came back and had my feet remeasured because they only hold your information in the computer for so long. I showed up again and two weeks later picked up my inserts and I wore them for about 30 days and they made my feet hurt so bad.lol. I brought them back and was told by Wade that one of the measurements was incorrectly imputed into the insole programing machine that creates the soles for Feet First and they were able to find my old measurements to go off of. They gave me the goof up pair that they made for free even though they made my feet hurt. I still used them sparingly in a pair of shoes I rarely wear. I came back two weeks later again and received the new pair and have been wearing them now for the past 2 1/2 years and they've been amazing. I can't wait to go back to get my third pair. * I work in the aircraft industry and I'm standing on hard concrete floors and walking around a manufacturing floor 10 hours every day the week and these inserts hold up really well my feet don't give me any issues except for the times that I don't have the insoles in my shoes because I bought a new pair of shoes. Immediately after putting them back in my new shoes my feet feel great. **Overall, I can see where some people might've had some hiccups in the past or issues with using this place for orthotic needs I wasn't a true believer until they confessed to a mess up they made and made everything right, and I've just been blown away by the quality of their insoles. They may be pricey around $375 because I don't like to use insurance, but for that price I'll pay for good quality insoles. read more

Very professional, yet easy to talk with about feet and shoes! My custom orthotic insert has made a huge difference in the quality of my life, I can maintain a fairly active lifestyle easily. This is my first time getting custom orthotics made here as well as purchasing shoes from this establishment. After wearing the shoes and the orthopedic devices for a while I am extremely satisfied with their expertise. They are well made, and extremely customized to fit me and my needs. I had a confusing experience at Feet First, my pediatrist sent me there for orthotics due to my flat deformed feet. Impressions of both feet were taken, but then I was told I would be better with custom shoes instead of the orthotics. Ok, they should know best. Made another appointment to have full foot impressions made for custom shoes, I went for that appointment and was told I really didn't need special custom made shoes and why was I told that I did? I ended up with a pair of $180 New Balance running shoes. No orthotics, no custom shoes. Took impressions again for orthotics in case the shoes weren't comfortable, but of course nothing is returnable. I don't know what to think, but I'm not going back! The people were pleasant enough, but why tell me what I need and then change their mind? read more

Really poor experience. Why they are located in a strip center and not a medical complex is beyond me. The first thing out of the employee's mouth was, "Do you have an appointment?" Uh. No. We didn't know that we needed one. We were visiting from the Gainesville area. You'd think that she would have at least invited us to have a look around or browse a catalog. Something. Whatever. My husband is really in need for diabetes shoes. He got diabetes shoes before when the podiatrist came to the house. Since COVID started no podiatrist could come to the house. I took him to see doctor Bradly Herbst at Podiatrist Association of Florida. With the prescription I drove him to this place call Feet first shoes , far from home on Phillips highway. Appointment was on January 27 at 2 pm and I had not heard anything from Feet First shoes since. I left my home phone and cell phone just in case they need to call me but no calls. In April I called to find out and Feet First said : we sent 3 pages to Mayo Clinic but only received 1 page. I said why didn't you tell me about this? Right away I called Mayo Clinic and a lady told me that they only received 1 page. I called both places back and forth tried to get things done. My husband got a message from his doctor on the patient portal stating that he signed the papers already. He is so nice. Today 4/12 my husband had an appointment with his dr and he told us to call the shoes place if they received all the paperwork. I called Feet first shoes and left a message. Got a call back and the man said your husband cannot get diabetes shoes because he wasn't treated for diabetes and he only saw Steven Perez who's only a nurse practitioner from endocrinology department . I told him that my husband had diabetes for over 40 years and he has been seeing by Drs and nurse practitioner too over the years. A few month ago he even got a Dexcom G6. So now my husband cannot have his diabetes shoes from Medicare that he is entitled to. What a waste of time and energy for all these months. Not everyone is healthy and has so much time to waste and add to that so much aggravation in dealing with this situation. This could be very simple if everyone is doing his or her job right from the start. I would never recommend Feet First Shoes to anyone! Things would go smoothly from the beginning if Feet First Shoes would call me and let me know or explain to me what documents and from what doctor or from what department they needed Mayo Clinic to fill out the forms . The most important when they faxed the paperwork for the doctor to sign they should write a note to the nurse to let her know too. The fax will go to the Primary care Dr not to the Endocrinology department. But it was too bad Feet First Shoes never called me and let me know about the situation. I would go to Mayo right away to get things done. This is when you put the trust on the place that was recommended by the Podiatrist. read more

I visited Feet 1st with every intention of buying a pair of shoes that would allow me to stand for long hours without pain since I work as a project manager visiting sites for new construction. I needed the shoes immediately as I would not be able to see the orthopedic doctor for several weeks due to the holidays. I was not greeted at all when I walked in the door and had to actually walk up to the counter. All customers should receive some type of greeting even if the associates are with someone else! The woman that waited on me did not seem to know much about the business or the products. However, I still purchased a pair of shoes for over 100$. I would have purchased a pair of socks, but when I showed interest, no one reciprocated. I was asked if I had been there before and I said no. I was not offered any explanation about other services or products or even a first time discount. There is a coupon on their website, however, so why not offer the 10% off to encourage repeat business? The entire staff acted like it was my privilege to be there, not that I was contributing to their paychecks. I also witnessed the owner being short and borderline rude to a senior woman that did not understand her medical benefits. Hey Wade, take a moment and put yourself in HER SHOES!
