We have 2009 Caravan. it was due for inspection. Their analysis was that the emergency break doesn't work, changed cable needed. That rear left side break leaks. They charged $21.00 and said too much wrong to scrap the car and they won't pass inspection. we returned to show that the emergency break worked. They still argued it didn't. They are scam people and because of the year , they refused repair and charged inspection fee with no inspection or repairs. Don't use this auto service. they will scam money out of you. read more

Fehlman Brothers recommended transmission fluid change in my 2016 Versa Note. However they did harm to transmission by using fluid not compable with Nissan N-3 fluid. I had to take my vehicle for further diagnose. Turned out my car was eligable for extended cvt warranty. Nissan analized fluid added by Fehlman Bros and because was wrong for my car I lost Nissan extended warranty. Fehlman Brothers does not respond to my complaints, or to BBB who tries recover cost of transmision from them. It is very frustrating. read more

My car was obviously not running well. Not safe. Wouldn't go when I hit the gas pedal. Had to get it towed to fehlmans'. They did a "test drive" couldn't find anything and told me my car was safe. Next morning I had to go to work and i take the freeway. CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED RUNNING IN THE MIDDLE OF AM HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC!! For some reason I went back and they told me it was gonna cost another $140 again... for the same problem they didn't diagnose less than 12 hours before! The first time I brought it in they told me I was just imagining the sounds and I didn't know how my own car felt when driving it. If you're a girl don't come here, they won't explain the process and definitely overcharge you. Had to ask a million questions just to get an idea of what they thought was wrong. read more

I've been going to Fehlman BROS for over 10 years, with now 5 difference cars. Having dealt with other auto repair shops before Fehlman Bros, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Fehlman Bros. They are professional and honest. I started going to Fehlman Bros after a different auto repair shop messed up multiple repairs, costing me a good amount of money trying to "figure out what was wrong." Fehlman Bros fixed the other shop's mistakes on the first try, and had never once lead me wrong. They have twice notified me of repairs I could have, if I wanted to, but which they recommended as expensive and extraneous. For example, my tire pressure light was on, even after I filled the tires with more air. They told me the batteries in one or more tire pressure monitors had died. It was about $50 per battery, and there was no way to tell in advance which battery is dead, so they would have to replace all four. Fehlman Bros recommended I just keep an eye on the tires, and fill them if they looked low, rather than spending $200. I have witnessed a similar situation with another customer while I was in the waiting room. They aren't interested in squeezing money out of every customer at every opportunity, but rather in keeping loyal customers who will refer new customers following good service. read more

DON'T GO HERE they charged me $150 for nothing. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car but I got charged $150 for "diagnostics". They didn't diagnose anything, so I shouldn't be paying for nothing. I brought this up when I was presented with my bill, and the man behind the counter proceeded to condescendingly explain to me how hourly labor works, as if I didn't already know. I have been to a dozen mechanics throughout my life and this was by far the worst experience. Every mechanic I have ever been to has not charged me if they couldn't find a problem. Great, genuine group of people. I would recommend them to anyone with car troubles. They will tell you exactly what the problem is and exactly how much it will take to fix it. They are flexible with your schedule and are obviously trying to provide the best customer service they can. The only downside is that they do become quite busy and may not always be the quickest at fixing you car problems. If you are inexperienced with cars and are afraid of being ripped-off by other dealers, take your car to Fehlman and you can rest easy. There is no magic cure to the headache and financial cost of car repair, but there are friendly autoshops that provide quality service at an honest price. Fehlman is one of them. read more

I took it in stressing that I needed a NY inspection. Long story short, after $2500, I didn't have an inspection and the brakes vibrated. I hate one star reviews. I tried to do two stars but I just couldn't, for the benefit of anyone in Syracuse! I have a lot of experience with cars, and mechanics. My dad's best friend is a mechanic, and I've owned 4 different cars in my short life, so I've been through a lot of fixing. Mark started out nice, telling me he would check out my car's power steering problem 100% free (this is apparently how they draw you in). So I accepted and brought my cr-v in. I was already 95% sure the pump needed to be replaced, and I was right. Mark quoted me $480 to fix it... $340 of that for "buying the part," $115 for labor, the rest for taxes. I went in knowing for a fact a brand new pump costs $187. I told Mark this and he mumbled out something about how they have a warranty contract with NAPA, so even if I brought in a new pump in he would not put it in for me. AKA THEY MAKE A HUGE PROFIT ON BUYING PARTS. They were planning to charge me twice as much as the part actually costs, and if I hadn't done research before I went I would never have known better. Needless to say, I went elsewhere, and I was nice about it, but not until after they changed my brake light and charged me $17 to do so. 7.80 for the bulb... (We all know bulbs cost like $2) and $9.50 for labor... It takes literally 1 minute and no work to put a new bulb in a car. Call Sammy at 315-424-7949. He's a Puerto Rican mechanic who does a great job and charged me, get this, $160 for the pump and $80 dollars for labor. Literally half as much as Fehlman brothers... First time experience with Feldman Brothers today and sad to say very disappointed. Have a west coast 1998 GMC Sierra with a class 2 communication problem. Have 5 UN codes present that any Snap-on tool can read. Provided codes, symptoms, & history to owner Mark Ellsworth several days before appointment. Dropped truck off Monday night . Called at noon today & Mark informed me it is in the shop but the senior tech in the shop Dave Kowell couldn't get any codes on his scan tool. Mark said he would call me back after lunch . 1:45 pm I get a call from the senior tech Dave Kowell and said once again he couldn't find any codes . He asked me with a attitude what do you want me to do ? I am thinking to myself WTF maybe repair the vehicle?? I decided just to go pick up the truck after work,if the senior tech doesn't know how to use a scan tool properly what is the sense of wasting time .I believe he just didn't want to deal with the issue & wanted easy street. When I went to pick up the trk at 4:45 pm today I asked why I am being charged a hour labor when Dave Kowell did nothing but to try to use a scan tool & take my truck for a 5 min joy ride. The owner Mark Ellsworth didn't care about my concerns and told me to leave. I will be filing a complaint with the State DMV division.. I dropped the truck off at another shop on the way home . Had them check for codes with their snap on tool... No problems at all the codes showed in plain sight. They couldn't understand why Dave or any other shop wouldn't be able to pull the codes. I should have read the reviews of Feldman Brothers before making a appointment. Recently they have had several unhappy customers. After meeting and talking to the owner Mark Ellsworth I can see why. read more

Just polite enough for you to trust them. Then they bill you for hundreds of dollars. I feel as though I agreed to be robbed. They politely convince you to agree with them for services that don't need to be done. I literally downloaded the yelp app specifically to write this review. I do partially take the blame because I should have trusted the reviews I read online before taking my car in (that's my fault) ... now here is what is not my fault-- I left feeling completely take advantage of when looking over my bill with trusted individuals after receiving my service. Fehlman brothers will nickel and dime you. They also took my car on a 12mile ride which was recorded on my odometer. After paying them just a pinch over $500.00 they failed my inspection for my parking break. Then tried to convince me to agree to an additional $500 to repair my cables. Also and additional $400 for rear breaks. I said no to those additional services. In less than 24hrs I had my car inspected no problem. For $21. And it's not like a took my car to some hole in the wall shop for that to happen. It is a reputable location. Not even a mention of my parking brake. I basically have $500+ in my pocket still because I chose to take my car somewhere else. That's not even the end of my rant... my father went in with my bill to talk to the owner. I have been refused any type of refund. Zero negotiation. Then someone from Fehlman brothers has the audacity called me to "talk over" my bill. This guy treated me like an idiot. Condescending jerk. I hate how that made me feel. I wish I didn't even answer the call(Curiosity got the best of me). I don't know car mechanics. That's not my job. I'm a school teacher. However I do trust the people who looked over my bill and I will never return for service from the Fehlman Brothers(on Midler ave... I have heard good things about the shop on burnet but have never personally been there. I just want to clarify that this review is for the Fehlman Brothers on Midler) ... so my friends on yelp. I've taken my car here a few times over the past several years. At so many of the chain repair shops, the techs are very young. They might have technical knowledge from school, but I went to Fehlman Bros. with their higher prices because I wanted the professionalism and common sense that I hoped come with experience. I kept coming back in spite of the man behind the counter who always seemed bothered to deal with me and answered questions with one-word answers. This was in contrast to the mechanics who happened to walk into the office. They were much more pleasant. My most recent experience wrecked it. I brought my car in for an alignment and when I picked it up, I couldn't shift into 2nd or 4th gear. When I circled the block and went back and complained, they said, "Oh yeah, we noticed that." My car is old. The shifter might be quirky but since I've had it a long time I just work with it, but the tech who did a test drive didn't have the finesse, so he forced it and broke something. What's astonishing here is that they knew my car was undriveable and they didn't call and say, "This car doesn't shift right, is that something you wanted us to look at?" or even "Your shift linkage broke while we had your car but it's old, so we're not responsible." They hadn't looked to determine even vaguely where the problem was, they didn't notify me, they just pretended it never happened. So much for the common sense and professionalism I was paying extra for. read more

I took my car to Fehlman Brothers to get my NYS Inspection done. When I went to pick it up I was told my car required $2,100 worth of repairs to legally pass inspection, and that there was an additional $3,000 worth of repairs they recommend I get done. I got a second opinion and walked out paying just $21 for the inspection and not needing any repairs. Needless to say I will never take my car back to Fehlman's and wouldn't recommend it to anybody. read more

Felhman brothers automotive tries to play you as fool. They jack up prices on parts and labor. With the expierence I've had, has been fairly poor. I was asked to bring my vehicle in for repairs on a Friday morning. That same day they said they would look at it and give me an estimate on repairs. All day long my vehicle was there. 20 minutes before closing they call me back with an outrageous estimate and say it couldn't be done till tuesday at the earliest. I went online researched prices for parts and about how long it would be to do the repair. Called them back twice 10 minutes before closing and no one answers. I left a message and was hoping for a response the next day. Come to find out they are closed all weekend my keys are inside and my car is gaited in. Finally on the follwing Monday I contacted somebody with the company. I told them what the situation was and how I was without a vehicle all weekend. The price they wanted for a $50 part was jacked up to $87.50 . The time they allotted to do the repair was 2 hrs for a 20 minute job. For the price they quoted to me I did the same job myself for 2/3 less than what they wanted to charge . This price jacking and absence without my vehicle for 3 days has shown to me their customer service. Very poor effort shown to work with their customers. They must think they are providing a need to people and not a service. Customers go to these companies to save time, not cause they can't do the jobs themselves . I felt belittled and that they didn't want or need my business. I do not recomend using this company for any automotive repairs. If I could give negative stars on this review I would. read more

I brought my 3 yr old SUV in for an inspection. The inspector took the truck out for a 15 minute joyride, spent over an hour checking and rechecking every inch of the vehicle to fail it for the emergency brake not being tight enough. The regulation in NY's handbook states specifically that the parking brake must hold the vehicle stationary with the engine running at a slightly accelerated speed with the vehicle in gear. This should not include revving a high torque engine up to 3000 RPM's in gear as that is not slightly accelerated. As I was leaving the inspector asked me what I thought of the vehicle because he wanted to buy one (odd right? I've never in 25yrs had my vehicle taken for a road test as part of an inspection). I brought the vehicle to another shop (which I have no affiliation or prior knowledge of), showed them the failed inspection paper, they inspected it and passed it without any issue. I feel as though they were hunting for anything to get more work. Very dishonest. read more
