I was asked to complete some documents online prior to the appointment and when I arrived was checked in swiftly. The staff were very friendly and they were in the holiday spirit with many dressed in their costumes! A dental assistant took me back and did a series of x-rays and photos. Then the dentist came in and did an exam and told me what I needed. I was sent to the waiting area for a few minutes before the hygienist got me and took me back for a thorough cleaning. Then I went back to the waiting area for another couple of minutes prior to seeing the payment person. Everyone explained everything that was going to happen before it did and why. I was given an appointment next Tuesday for the crown replacement and scheduled for my next cleaning in 6 months. It was overall a very nice and professional experience. The price seemed a bit high, and definitely not exorbitant. but I blame that more on my insurance than the office. And, it's "pay as you go" so I didn't need to pay it all at once.

I recently had to go have my first root canal done. Root canals, by definition, are not fun. In…read morefact, I think "root canal" comes from the Latin, rootius canalius, meaning "dental torture session" or something to that effect. In the thesaurus, "root canal" is listed as an antonym for "fun". So I had low expectations for my comfort level going into this. To my surprise and relief, Dr. Bolger and his staff are quick, efficient, friendly, and cool about the whole process. They really did treat me well, starting with Dr. Bolger making sure he completely numbed my gums and jaw first. He was also really cool about explaining the whole process to me as he did it, because I took genuine interest in how root canals work (it's pretty cool, you should probably look it up). I had to pay out-of-pocket for this operation ($850), but it was definitely well worth it, if you have to have a root canal done.
